I'm trying desperately for a silver lining to all of this....

....*thinks hard*......

.....maybe they won't move Edge from Smackdown to become Trips' bitch now?

Or, it's one big work to make Goldberg think he's going over. Then Lesnar, Austin and Vince will Montreal his ass.

Shut up, I can dream!

I agree about the fact that he was given too much too soon, Brock never complained about how bad it used to be in OVW, instead of giving Brock everything in a silver platter in less than a year,Vince should've made him earn his spot.Lesnar was not over until he beat Taker in HITC(at Summerslam the fans were cheering for him b/c they were just tired of the Rock), back in the days the wrestler needed to be over or at least get some kind of crowd reaction before they got the belt not the other way around, just look at the Bashams and Orton(who is finally getting some kind of reaction b/c the fans love Mick and the Rock so much).I'm not saying Lesnar had to wait 2 years to be the champ but Summerslam was too soon for him to get the belt. Here he thought that he was going to be the champion forever and get whatever he wanted b/c since day one he's been treated like royalty.Good thing he stopped bitching and decided to quit, WWE doesn't need another cancer in the company, hopefully Vince learned his lesson from pushing an unknown wrestler too fast to the top, because all of a sudden they start believing too much on their hype.

If that is the case, see a HUGE backlash at Lesnar. And if this is a false rumor from PWinsider, then see a huge backlash at the IWC. If they screw Goldberg for a cheap rating on RAW monday how do they expect anyone to trust anyone in the top of the WWE?

I don't blame WWE for pushing Brock the way they did. 2002 was a time when they needed a new face fast to freshen things up and to legitamize the brand extension. They ditched all that pay your dues stuff because they needed a new star NOW. It's not WWE's fault Brock couldn't handle it. They pushed Rock the same way and he turned into probably the shining example of what it means to be a company man (when he's not doing movies). He puts over everybody and does everything he's asked with a smile.

Huh? It took Rock almost 2 years to get the WWE title, and even before or after that he wasn't pushed as hard as Brocky. They needed a new star?Well what was wrong with RVD,Jericho,Benoit or Eddy?Oh,wait they are not WWE material, i forgot about that one. And the reason Rocky puts everyone over w/o bitching is because he earned his spot(and at the same time he grew up loving/respecting the business)when he won the WWE title he was finally getting over as a babyface b4 he turned heel again, when Austin won the title he was crazy over and even HHH was kind of over just for his association with DX in the past,Brock got the title without getting over.

Part of me finds Lesnar's leaving entirely plausible, given all the rumors that have been swirling around the past few months about his general unhappiness with the travel schedule.

On the other hand, the inclusion of the NFL aspect of the story makes me think the whole thing might be a work to generate more mainstream and fan interest in Wrestlemania. From the mainstream point of view, if a wrestler quits, even a main event wrestler, the general public couldn't care less. However, if you say he's going to try out for the NFL, with no previous football training, THAT'S a newsworthy story.

From the fans' perspective, knowledge of Goldberg's contract situation has muted much of the buzz around what should be a fantasy match up. Everyone has known that WM will be Goldberg's last match with the WWE, so it's a given that Brock will go over in the match. However, if you throw in speculation that Brock is leaving too, then fans will definitely be more interested because it might be Brock's last match, too, plus the booking is completely up in the air.

We'll see...

Anyone find it rather odd that Brock is supposedly going into a field(NFL) or saying he can without any true training. A little ironic if you flip it around, and that's exactly how Goldberg found wrestling.

Wrestlemania 20

There's not any really training for football to be honest. Its mainly conditioning and if your a wrestler thats the workout you mainly do. They might need to show him how to do a block correctly through.

Maybe it's a WORK~! as Vince was pissed at all those stories getting leaked, and so he's come up with this to amuse himself.

Well, at least we know Lesnar will get heel heat at MSG.

Kanyon got injured, he was not buried by Taker. Big difference, did you read about his shoulder and how he had an infection so large that it was bigger than a quarter. He comes back 2 years later and nobody remembers him. 1 for 2.

Boy Kanyon.

.

Kroni>l were god awful. If you saw the Taker/Kane vs Kroni>l match, you would know why everyone hated them. They self destructed and were fired because well, they pulled off ONE OF THE WORST MATCHES EVER! Don't blame Taker for trying to have a match with Brian Adams, who dave Meltzer quoted as "Who has to be one of the worst wrestlers of all time". 1 for 3.

Taker's no selling and missing by a mile punches were a big help to that match.

O'Haire and Pulumbo were the green moster machine in WCW because they had to evevate anyone because things were that shitty. It would be like Taker fueding with Jindrak and Cade from about three months ago. It was sad. They were over, and O'Haire sucked. So O'Haire got sent to OVW to get better. Although his one saving grace was that front spinning roundhouse kick and his Seanton Bomb. 1 for 4.

Still given zero offense and squashed by Taker.

Flair is how old? 2 for 7

How old is taker?

He won every battle in the feud and fought off two men in th blow off. Ruined Flair's face run.

Angle is fighting in one of the main events at the biggest show of the year. Yeah, Taker buried him. 2 for 8

He's talking about the squash in 2000.

Cena is one of the most over people on Smackdown.

No thanks to Undertaker

And finally Jeff Hardy, the man taker put over(kinda)

OMG, HE SHOOK HIS HAND!

And lets not forget about Kane screws up in that match. If you ask me Kane and Taker both started the screw ups in that entire match.

I liked Brian Clark when he was Wrath in WCW. In fact, his "Meltdown" finish was so popular, several WWF wrestlers "stole" the move. Billy Gunn used it. Bradshaw did it. Test still uses it.

It's a shame that he was brought in and kept with Adams only to ruin his chance at doing anything in WWF.

WrestleMania XX could conceivably be the last.

That's laughable. Vince still has plenty of money and the company is no where near WCW levels of Red yet.

WWE isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Now that I've jinxed them...

If anything did happen to WWE, which I very highly doubt, at least for now, you'd have to wonder where Vince McMahon would go from there...

We can only imagine the kind of "you sold out" heat Brock will get at MSG.

I mean, it'll be like when Mike Awesome jobbed the ECW Title to Taz before leaving for WCW -- only mulitplied by atleast 10x's.

Jim Ross has confirmed the Lesnar story in two seperate audio interviews. Basically Ross said that the internet and Fox TV reports were generally correct although not 100% accurate. He really put Lesnar over, saying he was a great athlete and worker.

Yeah, that combined with the obvious heel heat, but New York City has some pretty smart fans - so I think that the heat will do a bit of role-changing.

I still have fond memories of the New York crowd reaction to The Rock's promo at the RAW 10th Anniversary show.

Wrath seemed to be getting the Undefeated push like Goldberg until Kevin Nash squashed him.

I hope this isn't true and I'm thinking it isn't. Remember back when they held the pre show meetings and Vince and Brock were upset that storylines were being leaked through the internet? This could be a ploy to find out who has been leaking to the internet. Therefore on Tuesday having everyone believe Brock won't show up, until the end of the show. Thefore giving us an early April Fools

Just my thoughts

That match wasn't a squash but after that match they just abandoned his character. The crowd LOVED the meltdown and I think we would have been a damn good champion with that move and gimmick.

But what can you say? Another dropped WCW ball.

As for this, I still don't buy it. At all.

Guest THE MIGHTY THOR

This is so crazy that it sounds like a work to me, who is stupid enough to quit a job and a position that other people would give their left nut for? This is not 1987 were the wrestlers had to work 365 days a year and sometimes twice in one day so the travel schedule is a bs excuse for Brock to quit, this has got to be a work.

Thanks to The Wrestling Guys radio show for the following:

Jim Ross on Brock Lesnar:

"He's a great kid. I have a lot of respect for Brock. I like him. He grew up on a farm in South Dakota and I grew up on a farm in Oklahoma. I followed him in college. Jerry Brisco and I recruited him. Jerry Brisco primarily recruited him. Brock's coach (his wrestling coach at the University of Minnesota), Jay Robertson, was a college wresting teammate with Brisco at Oklahoma State. We got Shelton Benjamin and Brock off that team. We have a lot things to say about Brock. He's a good kid, very athletic and has a lot of opportunities in this world for him. Whatever decisions are made will be finalized after Wrestlemania, that's our focus. "

On recent media coverage of Brock Lesnar:

"Some things I've read on the internet are somewhat accurate. A lot of things you read, its someone getting someone's opinion over the telephone, because the internet fellas aren't normally behind the scenes. They aren't reporters who are asking questions and don't have access to people on an official basis. You can't believe everything you read. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I can tell you this, Brock Lesnar is highly regarded in our office and probably the most highly regarded athlete we've picked up in the talent department."

On Lesnar's match at Wrestlemania:

"He'll be at his best on Sunday. Goldberg will be challenged to match him athletically in that match, and I know that's something Bill will do."

Thanks to Terry Nordenstrom for the following report:

I thought you might want to know that 'Superstar' Mike Morris from KFAN radio in Minneapolis said Brock would be on the radio Monday morning. Superstar said he couldn't add anything right now to the report, but it might be interesting to hear on Monday. Morris was a long snapper for the Vikings for several years and has a popular morning sports talk show. He should have a good perspective on Brock's chances to succeed in the NFL. Brock and Morris have had an ongoing gimmick where they play "Fact or Crap"... the sidekick on the show reads the statement and Brock and Morris guess whether it's fact or crap. It's been pretty entertaining.

so there you go.... even though it was probably confirmed before its confirmed again. Bah GAWD! STONE COLD STONE COLD!

I wouldn't be shokced if that interview/segment with Brock gets canceled on Monday since everything is still up in the air with him right now.

I can't remember where I read this, but is it true Shelton Benjamin beat Brock in college once?
