BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Wow, 3 discs? Sounds awesome! PLENTY of 'bonus footage' too. Hopefully the card produces.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Pretty much the same DVD as last year…Apparently we aren’t getting the FULL matches and they were smart though, They had to do SOMETHING meaningful with WMXIX movie…releasing it on it’s own would have flopped…it’s a great edition. “Heat Matches”…interesting
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 No wrestling fan in their right mind would pass up owning WMXX, no matter how bad the actual show may turn out to be (or not be), and this is just even more incentive to have it in your wrestling collection. Looks really awesome, can't wait. UYI
iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I'm buying the Mania XX DVD for the event itself & the "Mania of Wrestlemania" movie. That's it...everything else is gravy that they add on.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Ive been looking around online for preorders, and they range from $25-30. Great price and I look forward to getting it once it comes out. I can also give back the VHS tape I was planning on using to tape the WM specials to my brother.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Yes, I am buying this regardless of how awful WM XX turns out. Not that I'm expecting XX to be awful, just disappointing...
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Well, any questions I had on buying this DVD are settled.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Yes, I am buying this regardless of how awful WM XX turns out. Not that I'm expecting XX to be awful, just disappointing... I wouldn't call WM XX awful or dissappointing, I'd just call it lackluster. None of the matches have had a strong build up. Nothing really sticks out and there is no legitimate pay off match. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 12, 2004 All it would accomplish is subjecting people to Test.
BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 All it would accomplish is subjecting people to Test. It would also gives guys like, Lance Storm, Matt Hardy and The Hurricane, the opportunity to work in front of the New York crowd in Madison Square Garden, on the biggest show of all-time. Well, on the same night, but you know what I mean.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 12, 2004 That seems like a great DVD - not a whole lot of small shit crammed on to the standard two-discs - long, rewarding feature programs. I can't wait for the WrestleMania DVD Box Set. What a restoring job.
Adam 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 This DVD will be awesome. I don't care how much it is, it'll be awesome.
Si82 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Disc 3 - WWE Films Presents "The Mania of Wrestlemania" Is this is the Wrestlemania Movie that was being filmed at Wrestlemania XIX last year?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Indeed it is. It's finally being shown - obviously working with WrestleMania XX.
Si82 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 No, 'WrestleMania: The Movie' was shown on UPN, I believe it was, a night or two ago. 'The Mania of WrestleMania' is a special that, if I'm not mistaken, was/is hosted by Ric Flair. I can't find my sources to back that up though. I know I asked the question but I think you have the two mixed up. I'm sure Ric Flair was presenting "WrestleMania's 10 Greatest Matches" which was on Spike TV on Tuesday. Actually, I've just found out from http://www.wrestlemania.com/ that "The Mania of WrestleMania" IS the movie shot at last year's WrestleMania. It's on UPN tonight (March 12) at 8/7 CT. Thanks for the help though.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Yes, you just confirmed what I thought. I did get news crossed - I changed my post. Damn Australia... For it's lack of wrestling television.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Your average WWE DVD down here, including WrestleMania, is approximately $30.00, maybe take a little, depending on where you're buying. A DVD Box Set of WrestleMania I-XX. So... I'm looking at approx. $600.00 for it... That's not taking into consideration the fact that the DVDs would/could come cheaper in the set, however. I can't wait for the WrestleMania DVD Box Set. What a restoring job. It seems a WM DVD Box Set would be inevitable but I really am afraid to see how much that puppy will cost. The VHS set with 14 ppvs was $149.99...This would easily go over that mark... They would make more money I think if they just released a 4 Disc BEST OF WRESTLEMANIA DVD (with complete matches and buildup) along with celeb montages and shit. Slayer 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 While the novelty of owning the full shows might be nice, I can't justify the no-doubt large expenditure that a FULL set would require when 75% of the content would be filler or shitty matches... I don't think I would even touch the WMIX DVD Compilation would be better
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Odd how the VHS collection of WM 1-13 was 80 dollars, but the VHS collection of WM 1-14 shot up to 150.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted March 12, 2004 Personally, I think WWE should release WrestleMania on DVD in sets of 5. Vol. 1- WrestleMania I, 2, III, IV, V Vol. 2- WrestleMania VI, VII, VIII, IX, X Vol. 3- WrestleMania XI, XII, 13, XIV, XV Vol. 4- WrestleMania 2000, X-Seven, X-8, XIX, XX This way, the people who already own WM DVDs could save some money. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I think the Hall of Fame converage is something great to have. I have a feeling that will be on the actual show itself...(highlights etc) The REAL banquet induction thing will likely be three hours at the least... Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I think that an idea may be to release all of the WrestleMania's that haven't yet made it to the DVD format, and leave space in the box for XV, X-6, X-7, X-8, XIX and XX. But if they want the spines to look good in the box set, they're gonna have to re-do those previous DVDs, or at least WrestleMania XIX, because it has it's own spine - and no, the other WrestleMania's looking like that would suck. Start saving!
