Vyce Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Frankly, I'll take John Stewart over Jon Stewart EVERY SINGLE TIME. Cause he's got a bitching ring, and is fucking Hawkgirl (at least in the cartoon continuity). Oh, and Lewis Black > a million Jon Stewarts. You KNOW I speak the truth.
NoCalMike Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Just my opinion, I wouldn't consider any politician "cool" Clinton was possibly ALMOST there, but not quite.
BUTT Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Well, hey, the Fonz was a Republican. So I guess that's one cool point for conservatives.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 (edited) Eh, it wasn't funny. Edited March 12, 2004 by Anglesault
Guest Cerebus Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 I wonder if they could recruit Howard Stern who seems to have jumped wholsale to the Dark Side. He certainly has a lot more noteriety than Garofalo or Franken and could give the "Little Liberal Station That Could" a push. Oh and Lewis Black >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> just about everyone
Guest thebigjig Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 For those that don't know, Al Franken started at SNL as an apprentice writer in the show's very first year and went on to write and act for the show for over a decade, writing arguably some of the shows best sketches. He is acknowledge by all that work with him, as a comedic genius, so lets not even try to diminish his contribution to SNL just because he's a liberal... because Franken was a MAJOR part of that shows success Anyway, I also agree... Lewis Black > the entire world
Ted the Poster Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Anyway, I also agree... Lewis Black > the entire world BRING ME SOME GOD DAMN PANCAKES~!!! Had to say it. Anyway, I have mixed feelings about this. While Franken is a hiarious guy, I don't think anyone can take his monotone delivery for more than fifteen minutes. Oh, and Jeneane Gorafalo is horrible and idiotic- an accidental beastiality picture in the porno magazine of life.
Guest Brian Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I've seen Lewis Black every time he was in Seattle, but Carlin>Black.
BUTT Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Yeah, Black seems to have based his whole career on doing a more "extreme" version of George Carlin's act.
Guest thebigjig Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Yeah, Black seems to have based his whole career on doing a more "extreme" version of George Carlin's act. I really dont see how you can say that Black's act is more extreme than Carlins... Black just cusses alot... a "fuck" here and there every 15 seconds
Guest MikeSC Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Well, hey, the Fonz was a Republican. So I guess that's one cool point for conservatives. The Fonz? Winkler is pretty far left, from all I've ever heard about him. I wonder if they could recruit Howard Stern who seems to have jumped wholsale to the Dark Side. He certainly has a lot more noteriety than Garofalo or Franken and could give the "Little Liberal Station That Could" a push. Considering the sense of humor liberal groups have about themselves, I doubt Stern would go over well. Homosexual advocacy groups seldom seem to like gay jokes, you know. -=Mike
Jobber of the Week Posted March 13, 2004 Author Report Posted March 13, 2004 Homosexual advocacy groups seldom seem to like gay jokes, you know. -=Mike Heh. Bring it on. "Appearantly, they [the advocacy groups] think I'm disgusting. I'm not the one licking other people's shitholes! And they think I'm disgusting!" -Sam Kinnison
Guest JMA Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I'd say Carlin is MUCH more extreme than Black. Carlin happens to be my favorite comedian of all time. The guy's not afraid to piss people off. I respect that. He also doesn't pander to the right OR the left. I find it refreshing for a comedian to be so honest in how he feels about the world. Not to mention the fact that he's fucking hilarious.
Vern Gagne Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Fonzie liked Ike... That he did. However that was cool Fonz. Wimpy teacher Fonz would of been protesting the Vietnam War if the show took place like 4 years later.
Ed Wood Caulfield Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I'd say Carlin is MUCH more extreme than Black. On his website, Carlin saids that he hates groups of people. But he loves each and every person he meets. He just despises the groups they belong to whether it be Political, Religious, Ethnicity, Country, or otherwise. He saids he hates groups because he feels that groups share one brain. But he loves indiviuals, although he basically hates the human race as a whole. But I agree, George Carlin is the MAN!
BUTT Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I really dont see how you can say that Black's act is more extreme than Carlins... Black just cusses alot... a "fuck" here and there every 15 seconds Well, that's what I meant. Swearing = "extreme". Just ask WWE.
