Guest Krazy Karter Report post Posted March 15, 2004 Capacity: 18,997 Come on now. No excuses this time - this is an admittance on WWE's behalf that business is in the shitter.

Jesse Badass 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I'm a Laker fan and all but damn that's messed up. WWE is fucking up big time.
Guest Y2DAYDAY Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I just think they want to guarantee Rock being on the show so Rock has no excuse for not working the show because even if he is filming, the show will only be down the road from Hollywood.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I'm not complaining, since I'm there. Yeah, what about us in California? The last years of WWF/WWE Attitude Era had large venues for X-7, X-8 and XIX. Now were back to smaller venues. I'd like to go but I would have preferred it at the Pond where WM XII and WM 2000 and the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals took place. PS. Poor Ducks.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 No. The small indoor facility is a major problem, as is the fact that LA is notorious for shitty crowds (Wrestlemania VII being an exception).

Guest Brian Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I'm thinking about going down. But I'm surprised they didn't opt for something a little bigger. Hopefully they'll get something bigger for a SummerSlam.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I'm thinking Vince wanted to ease up on the DOME show aspects (think about it, at wwe's peak they did shows in a CASINO!)...So it's not an admitance of a slow business period. They went with L.A because it's a MAJOR location, WM's have only had SIX Domed shows...It's not like it's a fucking requirement. The Crowd will suck but with Orton/HHH as the likely Main event...GOOD. WWE will likely hit Charlotte or Atlanta for WMXXII (the two biggest cities yet to host a Mania) and return to Detroit Rock City for The 20th Anniversy of WMIII. Guest ToddRoyal Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I'm thinking they could go back to Boston for WM XXII, if they think Cena is ready for the belt, to put him over for the title in front of his hometown crowd. Atlanta and Charlotte would be good choices, but it would be kind of surreal to see WM in either of those WCW hotbeds.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 Well since I live in L.A., the announcement was my mark out moment of the night. Hopefully I will be able to get tickets.

Atlanta and Charlotte would be good choices, but it would be kind of surreal to see WM in either of those WCW hotbeds. Boston gets TOO many PPVs. I really wish WWE would take my suggestion of having a PPV in Hawaii. It would be very nice to see another outdoor show again and unlike Iraq...It won't be Humid. Imagine The Rock back home...Hell, just call it the "The Rock's Family Reunion LIVE on PPV~!"

Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 WM15 and 16, at the WWE's apex of popularity, were held in relatively small arenas (PHI and ANA).
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 It isn't an actively bad choice, but not worth hyping as they did the locations of the last four shows.
treble 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 Capacity: 18,997 Is that a basketball capacity or a hockey capacity? If it's hockey, then you can probably add another 1000 or so for how much the place could hold for wrestling. If it's basketball, then add less (if any). Anyway, it's almost 20,000, which is still pretty big arena-wise.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 15, 2004 It was chosen for it's LOCATION...not it's size... Again...Why people feel DOMES are crucial to mania when like I said only 6 of the 20 ever had a dome. 2 were in a Casino...that's about as low as you can get...before you walk into the bingo parlor. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 It wasn't in the casino itself, it was at the convention center that was part of the hotel/casino. I could be mistaken, but I'm fairly certain they weren't held in the actual casino part of Trump Plaza.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 15, 2004 speaking of Casino's...what's keeping WWE From doing a Smackdown or Raw at MGM Grand ala WCW's Hallowen Havoc?
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 Well it isn't too far considering SouthWest is offering $39 flights, but if the show looks to be anything like WM XX.....fuck no.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 MGM Grand only holds like 5000 people at the most.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 15, 2004 MGM Grand only holds like 5000 people at the most. doesn't mean you can't have a fucking Raw there...5000 is almost around what they average these days... according to Prowrestlinghistory.com Halloween Havoc drew 12,457 in 1997...that's a fucking PPV crowd. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 Wasn't WM2000 in LA? Don't like the logo choice here, though. Also, can't they go with "XXI?" Why "21?" I hate when WWE shies away from Roman numerals because they think people are too dumb to read them.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 Screw these cities--give Pittsburgh a Wrestlemania, already.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 15, 2004 I'm scared..."21"...Usually is known for being be the age for people to legally drink...I was half expecting a Standard WM logo with one of those half hung signs attached in a square with a RED "21" like you see at store for "WE WILL I.D YOU"... Maybe i'm just really tired right now.
Dangerous K89 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2004 *Stares at Star Ocean* Was it a wise choice? Hell no. I will be denied my 50,000+ attendance dome for WM yet again!! Not complaining about MSG though, as it ruled.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 15, 2004 really? What domes were left? WWE pushed it with THREE Straight Dome Shows...That was more then enough considering they only had three others before that for Mania and only one other DOME show period for ANY ppv- Alamodome for 97 Rumble-(This year, 'Slam joins the list as it's back to the Skydome again) Why can't they do the Carrier Dome? That place would hold a good deal...stop going to the fucking Skydome.
