Free Floating Opinion on this Draft... Anybody

Recommended Posts

Something I have just noticed about this draft...

HHH is the third guy to have bounced shows more than once.

First was Benoit...who was drafted to Smackdown, moved to Raw when he was better, moved back to Smackdown after winning the Intercontinental Title, then moved back to Raw after winning the Royal Rumble.

Next was Matt Hardy: drafted to Raw with Jeff, moved to Smackdown after he turned on Jeff, and most recently, moved back to Raw.

Now, HHH: Started Neutral as Undisputed Champion, was put on Smackdown after losing the title, moved to Raw once the whole General Manager thing started up, and now is back on Smackdown thanks to this trade.

Do we also get to see Randy Orton... "The Man With No Heat" or "The -ty Man"?

will HHH also refer to himself as the "wheeling dealing, heat stealing, yacht sailing, daughter nailing, never losing, steroid using SON OF A GUN"?

There are only SEVEN singles faces on Raw and Smackdown both (though SD would have 12 counting the cruisers)

Everyone else is heel...about 24 guys (or 27 counting the cruisers)

so that's 14:24 or 19:27 ...that seems a bit lopsided to me.

As far as tag teams... 3 face/3 heel on Raw, 1 face/3 heel on SD

Raw has the Dudleys and Evolution, who are the only teams that get pushed? I don't expect Hurricane & SHIT nor Storm & Venis going anywhere soon since they are rarely on Raw to begin with.

Here is what I think will happen as one of the trades. Kane threatened the GM's that he better not end up on the same brand as Taker. I think that Shane will be the new GM of SMackdown and won't care about the threat, and will do it as revenge on Kane. That gives Taker a feud, plays up Shane's past with Kane, and Bischoff will actually be glad to get rid of Kane and maybe get a few younger guys as compensation.

That's a good prediction.

Or Steph might do it to, for revenge for her brother. I'm guessing it won't be Shane, since he's a brand new dad.

Raw also has La Reistance and will probably team up Mack and Henry when they come back.

SD has Too Cool (face), and the Bashams, Kyo Dai (the japanese), and the FBI.

Nobody cares about 8 of those teams...only the Dudleyz and Evolution (as you stated)

The Tag division needs buried or something...maybe then it will come back as some odd kind of hybrid of itself like the Undertaker.

So, the "draft" was just to provide some reasoning behind Stephanie and HHH getting to travel together, appear on screen together and ruin SD together?

Greeaat.

Could be good news for RVD though. There are a few interesting matches waiting for him. Plus this means the death of that horrid hybrid music for RV-T.

I'm hoping a few trades happen and mean something.

Anyone have any ideas on who's going to get traded?

Kane is a good bet, as mentioned above.

None of the guys on Heat this week will be traded. (Hardy, Storm, Val, Cade, Hurricane, Lita, Jazz)

I can't see Kane and Taker on the same show right now... as I DO NOT want to see a 7 month feud (as I'm hoping they save Taker's retirement for SurSer).

But if they do... meh... I can't really do anything about it. At least they won't be holding down anyone else.

If Kane gets traded then Raw has no top heel(HBK is a tweener).

HBK is "aligned with Bischoff" now, that could very well make him a heel in a week.

As for the back-up heels... well they got a few to choose from...they just need to push someone.

Rhyno, Orton (sorry), or Shelton Benjamin will be pushed in the coming weeks.

Evolution  but really what does Kane actually do on Raw for me to care about him? All he does is the ever so annoying random pyro run in for no reason at all.

the end of Raw seemed to show that Evolution was still firmly behind HHH... even with him on another show. I mean...he was SO pissed about leaving his friends...only to tear the shirt off later.

Unless that's a "I don't need them!" to the lockerroom (sans Evolution)

I guess ECW is officially back now. They set it up perfectly. Tajiri is now out of place on raw, RVD is unhappy about not getting a title shot. I can picture what is going to happen already.

Christian/Jericho is a nice little feud, too. Hopefully X gets over even more as a heel with Trish.

I don't get why they jobbed out Rhyno to Cena the past few weeks if they were going to give him a big push on RAW.

Hm, never thought of it like that, but you're right. Because really, what else would RVD do? They've got enough guys clogging the main events (Eddie, Angle, HHH, Taker, Show, Cena), so the ECW thing is set up pretty nicely.

this ECW thing makes very little sense unless they are moving former WCW and WWE guys that were NEVER in ECW to the "new ECW" ... because right now they only have TWELVE former ECW guys...not counting Foley or Nova...but including Jazz.

12 wrestlers will not make ECW...they need more like 20 (at least).

EDIT: This is also not counting Tazz.

Add in a few guys like Matt Morgan, Nova, Johnny Jeter, Nick Dinsmore, Joey Matthews, and a few other guys and give them a shot.

From 411...

Bio for new GM online at WWE.com?

The following is a potential spoiler for Smackdown:

A link to Stephanie McMahon's bio is live on WWE.com. While it does not refer to her as the GM of Smackdown, the bio does include updated information on Stephanie, including her mother throwing in the towel during the "I Quit" match vs. Vince last year.

To read the bio, click here.

As reported here earlier, the new GM of Smackdown will be announced at tomorrow's SD tapings, as will any trades that are made before the trade deadline. Besides Stephanie, other rumored GMs (some of which are a stretch) include:

- Theodore Long (drafted to SD on Monday night)

- Shane McMahon (bio removed from the RAW site)

- Vince McMahon (bio is still on the SD site)

- Kurt Angle (if his ring-time is limited due to injury)

- William Regal (currently injured and on RAW roster)

The wrestlers leaving for the new ECW wouldn't make much since either because of the following things:

1) They have been portraying Heyman as someone no one likes to wrestle for or follow.

2) Rhyno threw his Smackdown shirt in Heyman's face.

3) The Dudleyz and Stevie (maybe a couple others, couldn't tell) were appalled that Heyman was drafted to Raw. It was an obvious sign that only the people that had worked for him in ECW stood up and started reacting badly to him coming to their show.

I know it's something that will be forgotten, but there ya go.

I do see Heyman starting a "rogue brand" in the upcoming future, though. However, I don't think it will be made up of solely former ECW stars. I think it will have some of those old stars with a mix of others that Heyman lures with talk of more exposure and a chance to wrestle. I could see London, O'Haire, and some others that are hardly ever on TV jump to ECW. Not to mention the OVW guys like Dinsmore and others that are ready to come up.

Not everyone must love ECW to go there. They just must think it is an opportunity, some talent will be not be convinced. It is more realistic that way, in real life not everyone would go back, some would.
