Stiffest beating you've ever seen

Recommended Posts

Guest Satan

With Steiners working stiff, that would even work hard on veterands heres a recap of some off the moves I saw a match of them vs two jobbers, and it made my stomach turn. Scott was throwing this guy around, salmming him on his head, and Rick was worse. You never saw any of them vs Vader. If you did it was an 8-man tag or something. Vader would of stiffed them hard, VERY hard.

I saw a match between Ron Simmons vs Cactus Jack and it was just stiff with Simmons looking to dislocate Foley's jaw.

Just sick.

This really isn't a biggy, but it might count: The ending to Rock/Mankind @ RR 99. Those chair shots looked S-I-C-K.

And how about that chair shot Rock gave Shamrock in the Spring of 98 where he just smacked him across the head with it.

The Rock-Shamrock chairshot is still one of the sickest I've ever seen. That was not protected AT ALL.

"can't remember if I've ever seen any Headshrinkers vs. Steiners matches from that period, but I bet they were brutal. "

They did have that match at Wrestlemania 9. It sucked pretty bad, and it wasn't stiff at all though they were very sloppy, especially the Frankenstiener at the end(Scott back flips, Headshrinker stands there for a second, than suddenly flips forward....ugh.)

Stiffest beatings I've seen:

Vader vs. Sting Superbrawl 93-Sting shreds Vader's ear with punches, and grotesquely lashes him with the strap until his back is bleeding profusely.

Vader vs. Inoki-Vader busts a cut open hardway with punches, dumps him on his dome with a sick dead lift German and than later a Chokeslam...etc.

Hansen vs. Kobashi 7/93-Hansen Powerbombs him on the concrete, blacks his eye with a boot..etc.

Kawada vs. Hansen 2/93-Both guys take tons of Cowboy Kicks, Suplexes on Concrete, hard elbows and knees, and Kawada takes a legit knee drop on his chest that appears to really hurt him badly.

Kawada vs. Akiyama 7/93 and 95 Carines-Akiyama gets punted and stretched in a variety of grisly ways.

Kawada vs. Taue 95 Carines-Taue takes a big ass kicking from the master. Some of the hardest chops ever, not to mention the split legged half crab.

Low Ki v. Deranged (ROH: Death Before Dishonor), at one point, Deranged looks at Low Ki and it seems as though he's going to cry. Poor kid.

Didn't Ki whip that kids ass really bad at Expect the Unexpected? I have one of those matches on my computer.

*Shudders just thinking about that beat down

On a Velocity while back, Sean O'Haire just murdered this poor jobber. The crowd was going nuts when SOH gave the guy one of the stiffest kicks ever.

I thought the guy was dead when SOH did the Widowmaker on him. O'haire snapped the guy down so fast his head was bouncing off the mat.

That Rock chairshot on Ken Shamrock was absolutely sick. It was kinda cool to see cause Shamrock was kneeled down telling Rock to give it to him. The Rock swung the damn chair like he was in a home run derby and the smack was so loud. He hit him right on the forehead with the damn thing.

How about Undertaker's nasty chairshot on Maven after he got eliminated from the Royal Rumble 02. that was pretty sick as well

Not comparable to others, but Quake's back was bleeding from Hogan's chairshots at SS 90

There have been a few times where Samoa Joe has just beat the utter crap out of Jay Briscoe. Or Mark. one of the two. I just know Joe kicked one of their asses.

Joe's beaten the fuck out of both with Jay taking more of the punishment.

When it comes out check out At Our Best- Joe pretty much legally murders poor Jay and leaves him lying in a pool of his own bed.

I have no idea how Jay Briscoe was not only not dead- but was walking around afterwards taking pictures.

A pool of his own bed?

Damn...

:D

Apropos Taker chairshots.... Anyone remember when he interfered in the Hogan/HHH match at Backlash '02? He swings the chair at a stumbling triple H, who's got one of his hands up to protect himself.... and Taker just swings to teh side of it, avoiding the hand alltogether and smacking him in the side of the forehead. I've rarely laughed that good.

On subject, APA had a few quite vicious ones on teh Hardy's - most notably after Terri screwed them over in a match against Edge and Christian, including the most spectacularly fucked up DOminator in history on Jeff. That one was just sick.

Come to think of it, I think Simmons gave up on teh Dominator not long after that...

Fit Finlay and Regal had a nice little stiff match at Uncensored '96.

That match was beautiful. Just a fucking war of wills. It's like the ultimate bar fight, in fact, it should have ended with Finlay buying Regal a drink at the end.

I always loved matches between Finlay and Regal....

The one Steiners/Jobbers tag team match I remember best, I used to have on tape. Rick hit a Jobber so hard with a Steinerline, he shattered his nose and knocked him silly. He tried to pick him up, but the guy was just out, so he pinned him. I remember JR lauding them for sportsmanship in ending the match prematurely.

WCW ran a promo segment with the Steiners in Japan, and damn, they absolutely brutalized some people.

Though my previously mentioned Faces of Fear/High Voltage match on Nitro still ranks up there. As a friend's friend put it, it was non-stop pain.

Beating up on a girl? What a pussy that Ian Rotten is. Now this next thing might be something I should start a brand new thread on, but I just wanted to know with all these stiff beatings that have happened over the years, have any turned into shoots unexpectedly or gone horribly wrong? (ie the stiff wrestler injures the guy he is stiffing)?

Hansen knocking Vader's eye out with a "non shoot" clubbing blow comes to mind

Benoit beating the shit out of Al Snow at Double Tables first came to mind. That was a wonderful, ballstomping, drubbing of the Snowman.

Albright squashing Sano in UWF-i and finishing it with a beautiful dragon suplex. Albright looked like a monster.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this one yet but Yokozuna's beating of Virgil at WWF Survivor Series 1992 falls under the category of stiffest beatings.

Thanks.

Pretty much any Spike Dudley vs Mike Awesome matches in ECW.

JESUS GOD, Mike Awesome was such a fucking dick. I'm unsure of my favourite moment between the two, but it was either:

1. Mike Awesome whips Spike Dudley into the turnbuckles. Dudley takes it chest-first, then takes two steps back. Mike Awesome is right behind him, and he LITERALLY throws Spike across the ring. Like, he gives him a release German that ended with Spike Dudley being UNDER the turnbuckles on the opposite side of the ring...like, cross-corner, not just straight with the ropes. Just beautiful.

2. Mike gives Spike Dudley a sick, sick, SICK. Powerbomb. Then he hauls Spike up, and does it AGAIN. Then he hauls Spike up AGAIN (And like, Spike Dudley is dead weight at this point; Awesome just grabs his shirt/overalls and MAKES him get on his feet) and gives him a THIRD SICK powerbomb. 1....2....kickout! Mike gives this look which says "Spike, you stupid motherfucker...", then proceeds to give him an even SICKER running Awesomebomb to a slanted table in the corner; the way the table breaks, if I recall correctly, essentially makes it so that Dudley took a Kobashi-style turnbuckle powerbomb, only with a table in the way, and done by MIKE FUCKING AWESOME. Such a great ending sequence.

3. Mike Awesome is standing in the corner. Dudley charges, but Awesome catches him, and lifts him up onto his shoulder for an Awesomebomb. But then, Mike Awesome, Mike "I'm 6'6" and almost 300 pounds" Awesome climbs up the turnbuckle, backwards, while carrying Spike Dudley on his shoulder. He then Awesomebombs him off the top, through a table.

Jesus, I miss Mike Awesome, back when he was ECW champion and the greatest bully in the wrestling world.

To back up Tom's IWA-MS stuff, there's a squash match from the July 4th show, Ian vs. Simon Sezz- on tape, it doesn't look like THAT bad of a beating, just an extended 20-minute squash to teach Simon a lesson for blowing off practices.

But then you check Simon's back after the match and it's totally PURPLE.

It had nothing to do with racism it was just stiff.

People say that's one of Al Snow's best matches. HA! It's a glorified squash match. Benoit just fucking kills him with the Dragon Suplex.

But how? Saying it was "Stiff" without saying when doesn't help wanting to see it.

Watching a stiff match = fun. Watching Yoko/Virgil sucked.

Mike Barton vs. Perry Saturn from an April 2003 NWA-TNA event. I'm not sure if it was mentioned before (I did a check and didn't see it on first glance) but it was a very good match. Barton split open saturn in about 10 seconds (then Saturn bladed a few minutes later to add the ffect) and they just simply beat the crap out of each other for ten minutes. Last real good match I've ever seen from Saturn.

The finish seemed out of nowhere, but worked once you think. Barton repeatedly threw left handed punches at the top of the skull of Saturn, and of course, most people will know if you do this over again or on the wrong part of the head, you can break your hand. Saturn caught on Barton favoring it, and applied a typer of wrist lock.
