JoeDirt Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 From 411...sorry if it was already posted: "- WWE has been very pleased with how the Booker T vs. The Undertaker matches have come off on recent house shows. They feel that the matches have made both men look good." Yeah...because getting squashed in a minute makes you look AWESOME!
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Well maybe they worked house shows no one reported.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 That's just Book "getting the rub" from Taker.

Downhome Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I read this today, it's from PWInsider, and I thought it was great. I almost posted it, but eh, whatever.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I would post something negative about the news (by that I mean the matches getting over good) but everyone else is so I'll just play the role if "mybe something else happend"
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Book was able to get up & walk to the back unassisted. That makes him look good.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 This makes perfect sense to me. Good Lord, I'm thinking like them.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Is it possible to "think" like them? That infers there is thought put into what they do.
Lightning Flik Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Is it possible to "think" like them? That infers there is thought put into what they do. There is thought put into it. Head Booker: "We need to have a solid match between Booker and Taker, how shall we get this done?" First Writer: "Having Booker get squashed by Taker in a singles match?" Second Writer: "Of course, have him get squashed in a five minutes." Third Writer: "No, two minutes. We need to get to that 45 minute brawl between Eddy and Bradshaw." Second Writer: "I won't accept anything less than five minutes! Booker is supposed to be a big player on Smackdown!" First Writer: "I'll give you a three minute match with some mild offensive put into the Undertaker, with added benefit of Booker being able to at least be able to walk away from the match." Second Writer: "...you've got yourself a deal!" See? The above was thought out. Just on the first things their simple minds thought of.
RavishingRickRudo Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 No, I think it's more like this: *Taker walks up to head booker* Taker: Hey. Head Booker: Hey. Taker: Yep. Head Booker: Yep. *Taker leaves* *Booker T walks by* Head Booker: You're gettin squashed by Taker. Booker T: Aw damn! Do I have to? Head Booker: Yep
Guest Deviant Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 A 45 minute Bradshaw match? NO ONE is thinking that, not even WWE writers. Well, maybe Jim Ross...
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 On Judgment Day, I can see Eddy and Bradshaw getting around 20-25 minutes.
Jack_Bauer Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I totally agree. I actually think they SHOULD give the match a good 15-20 minutes just for being a main event.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Yes, making it short will contribute to making the match suck even more. But having the audacity, for lack of a better term, to give it around the 45 minute mark (which wouldn't happen anyway) would burn the live crowd (and the home viewers) out so that when the much-awaited ending comes, people are pissed-off, but happy at the same time (not for the right reason). This is presuming that the match won't be any good.
ISportsFan Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I totally agree. I actually think they SHOULD give the match a good 15-20 minutes just for being a main event. Did you just use the word "good" when talking about a 15-20 minute Bradshaw match? Jason
nl5xsk1 Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Sorry to swing the conversation back to the original point ... ... maybe Booker has gotten good heel reaction on the mic. So, while he is getting squashed (and thus looking bad in the ring) his mic work before and after make make for big crowd reactions. Thus, he's looking good. Probably not, but there has been crazier theories.
humongous2002 Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Hey if S.D. Jones got over with squash matches so can Book.
