Guest wildpegasus Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I'm one of those people who sometimes look at other people in life and wonder how they can laugh at the stupidest things (although I do feel happy for them to an extent) you can imagine such as the Blockbuster commercials with the rabbit and his buddy. See, there's not too much stuff I find funny when watching TV or movies so if someone does ring home to me as funny it's pretty rare. So a question for the people out there who "don't laugh". What TV shows or movies do you find yourself busting a gut over?

What TV shows or movies do you find yourself busting a gut over? I am sort of like that in the fact that I am RARELY the one to laugh out loud. Even when I find stuff funny, I just for some reason am almost never moved to laugh out loud. Exceptions would be of course be while intoxicated, and when I am shooting the shit with my best friend as we find the oddest things in movies/music/entertainment funny.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I very rarely laugh at stuff that I even find funny, but I've found myself laughing out loud a few times to the Daily Show, Chapelle, or a movie every once in a while (but only in the theaters).
Youth N Asia Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Well-timed farting. Amen! I'm more likely to laugh at something on The Sopnranos than just about any comedies. While I like comedy, something gotta hit me hard to spark any kind of laughter from me.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Midgets, dwarfs, and.......................yes, well timed farting.......
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Is this thread supposed to prove that Smarks are cold, cynical, skeptical, soulless bastards who can't find ANY humor in something enough to laugh, enjoy themselves, or have a good time or something?
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Comedy is a hard profession, and it takes a lot to make me laugh, imo. I'm the type of person that won't laugh at a person's joke, and then when that person walks away enraged, trips and falls I'll bust a gut...
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Comedy is a hard profession, and it takes a lot to make me laugh, imo. I'm the type of person that won't laugh at a person's joke, and then when that person walks away enraged, trips and falls I'll bust a gut... That's so mean, but funny as hell. The only stand up comedians I usually laugh at are Chris Rock, George Carlin, and Dave Chappelle. Otherwise, eh. Hard to get me to laugh.
Mole Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Well-timed farting. No matter what age you are, a well-timed fart is always going to be funny. I will always laugh at Seinfeld, because that show just owns all.

I was laughing for a good five minutes when Junior kept repeating "He was never a varsity athlete" at the dinner table, with Tony finally snapping. It was so simple, yet so funny. The Sopranos are one of the few shows that actually make me laugh. If I had to make a list of shows that actually make me LAUGH OUT LOUD: Family Guy, The Sopranos, South Park, The Daily Show, Seinfeld That might be it. The Simpsons get more of a grin or smile rather than an actual laugh.
MooreMark Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 Really good inside jokes or stupidness at school do the job for me.
Youth N Asia Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 I laughed my ass off in the Pine Barren's (sp) episode where Christohper's yelling at Paulie. "I'll leave you here, you one-shoed cocksucker!" Christopher and Paulie have tons of funny stuff together.
Tawren Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Is this thread supposed to prove that Smarks are cold, cynical, skeptical, soulless bastards who can't find ANY humor in something enough to laugh, enjoy themselves, or have a good time or something? Yeah, because if overdone shit like Punk'd or Dumb and Dumberer doesn't make you laugh, YOU'RE A ROBOT. Shut the fuck up.
Art Sandusky Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 That was awfully aggressive in a thread meant for humor... I laugh at EVERYTHING. I'm the guy you probably want to throw your drink at in a movie theater.
Slayer Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 I tend to like edgy/controversial humor (ex: SP, FG, Chappelle) or British humor (ex: Monty Python, original Whose Line) Mainstream humor tends to really suck IMO. I can sit through an episode of Friends or a Leno monologue and not bat an eye.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Apparently running zombies crack me up. Sounds like someones been watching Return Of The Living Dead A Zombie uses the radio in a police car to call the station to "send more cops". How silly.
Youth N Asia Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 A Zombie uses the radio in a police car to call the station to "send more cops". How silly. Yeah, even for a comedy/horror that was a little much. Other than "uhhhh" and "rahhhh" zombies should keep their traps shut.
Guest Astro Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 I went to see The Green Mile in the theather, When the guy's head started on fire, I busted a gut, others around me were crying. ---------- Last year at work a guy opened a garage door to push a cardboard bale out, as he was heading toward the exit, the door came down, and the guy crashed back of his head first into it, and fell over.... I just about fell over laughing.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Dancing Nazis I'm probably seeing things, but why does the chick in the middle of the front have a boner? Or her crotch is very big.
syxx2001 Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 *Comedy movies *Chappelle's Show *Horror movies *George Lopez and My Wife and Kids *Rap punchlines *People cracking on each other
Guest Astro Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 *Comedy movies *Chappelle's Show *Horror movies *George Lopez and My Wife and Kids *Rap punchlines *People cracking on each other You don't exactly sound like a person who "doesn't laugh"
Kahran Ramsus Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 WB's attempts at Catwoman, Wonder Woman & Superman.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 I think that's just the uniform God... damn thats a horrible outfit.
notJames Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 My funny bone is sensitive to dry wit, irony, scathing commentary and schadenfreude. Anything the common man finds funny is beneath me. However, I do have a strange appreciation for Peewee's Big Adventure. Make of that what you will.
Toshiaki Koala Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Profanity usually does it for me, especially when the word "cunt" is used. Examples: In season 1 of The Sopranos, when Junior's girlfriend has been telling everyone that he gives her cunnilingus, he calls her something along the lines of "stinking blabbermouth cunt" - my mom was there so I had to stop myself from laughing, but DAMN. The Exorcist - "She told me to keep my hands away from her... goddamn cunt." The Boondock Saints - "I can't walk down the street to buy a newspaper without running into nine guys you've FUCKED!" The thing is, I'm usually afraid to watch a comedy, because I know I'll get exhausted forcing myself to laugh. That's why I don't watch comedies that often - I want them to be funny so I laugh when I think I'm expected to, and by the time the movie is over I have a terrible headache. Also, sometime's I'll laugh REALLY hard at a joke, and then forget about it a minute later. Other times, I'll hear or read something witty and won't really laugh that much, but I'll keep repeating it to myself for days, and always smile (another example from the Sopranos - when Christopher was writing his movie script in S1, the camera briefly showed the computer screen, and it read "I must be loyle to my capo" - hilarious!).
