Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2004 A WR for KC? Guh? I'm not drafting based on need. I draft based on best player available. Besides the Chiefs could use a top flight receiver.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 8, 2004 (BX PMed me his pick) With the thirty-first pick in the 2004 TSM NFL Mock Draft, the Carolina Panthers select... Stephen Peterman -- Offensive Guard -- LSU
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 With the 32nd Pick, the New England Patriots select Center Jake Grove from Virginia Tech. He'll make up the void left by Damien Woody and gives the offensive line a much needed aggressive, physical presence. OVERVIEW Great leader who really set the pace for the rest of the offensive line … A relentless warrior on the field, Grove has everything you want a center to have … Tough, physical, aggressive and possesses the intangibles needed to play the game at the highest level … Versatile player who found a home at center in his final year after playing right guard as a junior and sophomore … One of three players in school history to earn unanimous All-America honors, joining center Jim Pyne (1993) and linebacker Corey Moore (1999). ANALYSIS Positives: Has thick muscle mass throughout with thick thighs and calves, and broad shoulders and chest … Tough, aggressive player who competes from snap to whistle … Has good initial quickness off the ball and into his blocks … Can reach the down blocks with very good effectiveness … Has the short-area quickness needed to chip and reach block on the linebackers … More stronger than explosive, latching on with his powerful hands to control the defender … Fires off the line with good quickness, showing proper body movement to lock on and drive the defenders off the line in running plays … Makes quick decisions when adjusting to make the reach blocks at the second level, keeping his leg base wide as he mirrors the linebacker's moves … Shows good field vision and fluid feet to adjust and recognize twists and stunts … Has adequate knee bend and body flexibility, with above-average hand placement as he works inside to control … Quick in his kick slide, getting in front to pick up the defensive end while maintaining balance and body control in his slide … Quarterback of the offensive line, rarely making bad blocking assignment calls … Has the tough leadership quality you look for in a center (will grab defenders by the throat if that's what it takes to get the job done) … Plays on his feet and will rarely overextend or get caught out of position. Negatives: Has good functional strength, but his arms need more muscle development … Can get physical if he has to, but you'd like to see that nasty nature he sometimes displays more often (does not always finish blocks with the fire you'd like) … Does not pull much in Virginia Tech's scheme, but shows adequate agility and balance on the move. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 Chill, I have a feeling he could be available in the 2nd round by my pick(#57) and if he isn't, there are other options. This way though our offensive line which IS a pressing need moreso then the position you wanted gets touched upon allowing us to focus on other aspects that may/may not be trouble. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 9, 2004 I think the Pats starting 5 are just fine and only need back-up depth. Matt Light carried Damien Woody's fat out of shape ass often.

Gert T 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 With the 35th selection in the NFL Draft the NY Giants select: Rashun Woods, WR Oklahoma State The Giants "seem" to have good playmakers on offense, but they cannot get the ball in the end zone. Rashun Woods would have been a first-rounder most years. He is not the biggest, or fastest, but Woods has a good chance to become a big-time playmaker in the NFL. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 10, 2004 I saw Mel Kiper saying Lee Evans was expected to be a mid-first round pick. Not a big deal, just something I thought I'd point out. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Time to get the Atlanta clock going. With the 37th pick in the 2004 TSM NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select out of Western Michigan.......Jason Babin, DE The leaders on the team in sacks last year each had only 4.5. Robert Porcher and James Hall are not exactly going to be the DEs to lead a team in the future. Throw in the fact Porcher will be gone soon and that leads this selection for an upgrade at DE. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Next three 38. Atlanta Falcons - bravesfan 39. Cleveland Browns - me 40. Jacksonville Jaguars - APO
Fökai 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 With the 38th pick in the 2004 TSM NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select Ahmad Carroll, cornerback out of the University of Arkansas. The Falcons look to address the future of a secondary currently occupied by patchwork players, picking up the 5'10", 195 pound junior. With blazing speed (4.35), an unmatched intensity for making the tackle and potential that has yet to be tapped into, the Falcons should be happy with this selection. Fökai 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 For the second round, I decided to leave the teams without owners - not too much of an explanation for this, other than the group of posters that failed to show up for the first round. Pinjockey seems to be keeping track of the owners that *DID* make selections in the first round, so we should be good to go for the weekend.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 With the 39th pick in the 2004 TSM NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns select....Stuart Schweigert, safety, Purdue. With both starting safeties over the age of 30 it is time to start looking forward. He has the size and speed to compete in the NFL. Throw in the fact that all he seemed to do in college was make big plays and you get a solid safety prospect..
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 Next three Jacksonville - APO Houston - Conspiracy Victim Denver - Canadian Chris I don't know how you want to handle the teams that got picked for in the first round such as Jax. I figure just put CV on the clock and if APO is here first he can make the pick, if CV gets here first then someone can pick for Jax. Is that cool?
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 10, 2004 With pinjockey's pick does that mean that the Stuart Schweigert of Purdue that plays safety is still available? hehe
