DerangedHermit Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Link Kelly Osbourne Enters Drug Rehab LOS ANGELES - Kelly Osbourne (news), the 19-year-old daughter of heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne, has checked into a drug rehabilitation center for an addiction to painkillers, her parents said Friday night in a televised interview. Kelly Osbourne's younger brother, Jack, 18, checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic last year and Ozzy Osbourne has been candid about his decades of battles with substance abuse. The siblings became international stars following the success of the MTV reality show "The Osbournes," which shows an oft-dazed Ozzy doting over his dysfunctional family with wife-manager, Sharon. The Osbourne's oldest daughter, Aimee, has not taken part in the show, which returns April 6 for its third season on MTV. Ozzy, 55, and Sharon Osbourne, 51, talked about their daughter's drug problem Friday night on CNN's "Larry King Live." Sharon Osbourne said that an English tabloid notified them Friday that they had a photograph of Kelly in an apparent drug deal. Kelly Osbourne was confronted and eventually acknowledged a drug problem "after a lot of twisting," Sharon Osbourne said. Ozzy said that his daughter denied having a stash of drugs, but the family's maid said she had found a bag of pills underneath her bed. "So the bag was delivered to me, and I opened this bag and it was full of pills. ... There must have been 500 pills," he told King. Within hours, Kelly's brother drove her to the Promises rehabilitation center in Malibu. When asked on the interview show if she had advice on how to steer children away from drugs, Sharon Osbourne responded somberly. "I'm a failure," she replied. "How can I give anybody advice?" The Osbournes said that for every good thing that has happened to their family, there also have been difficulties. Sharon Osbourne announced in 2002 that she was undergoing treatment for colon cancer, which is now in remission, and Ozzy last year was injured in an all-terrain vehicle accident in England. I check the headlines on IMDB.com and for a couple weeks straight it seemed like there was always an Osbourne piece, and mostly Sharon. While I think it's a sad story. She's a shithead, so I won't cry over it.

She went on Howard Stern with her father and brother(they play the show from time to time on E!). She wasn't heavy at all nor did she think ripping one in public was cool and funny back then. Can't blame Ozzy for doing drugs or drinking still, I would too if I had to put up with those kids and all those fucking small dogs his wife brings in.

I remember when "The Osbournes" was about the adventures of Ozzy and then the second season was all about his god damn kids and I zoned out. Ozzy's kids may be the most uninteresting and unbearable people on the planet.

I may be being judgmental, but that's the way that I feel at the moment. I actually was surprised about it - but the fact that it was painkillers dimmed it a little, and that's not to say that over-usage of painkillers isn't dangerous. Not a bad read. At least she's in rehab.

haVoc Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Pain killers are so easy to get. You don't have to be a football player, wrestler, etc, to get them. People go to the dentist and they get strong pills. I've did the pain killer high a few years back and never saw the big deal with it. The pills by themsevles are alright for the calm light headed feeling, but I drank on them which made me get drunk quicker which I didn't like. Plus, they rip your stomach apart the next day. I've tried a few different drugs over the years and nothing ever hooked me. I never really got off on the high from drugs. That's just me, though. I can see why others can get hooked so easy.
