Quick question about the Nets

I'm sure this has been covered at some point, but before I got YES, I couldn't give a damn.

With YankeeNets disbanded or broken up or whatever, will the Nets still have games on YES? I know they do now, but that could be until they get a new deal. I actually did enjoy watching the game last night. I don't know what came over me.

I think they'd be the Brooklyn Nets.

Anyway, if it goes down, I think I heard like 06.

Would people really care? Mostly NJ Nets fans will be following them, no Knicks fans will switch sides, and I don't think that someone on the border is really gonna be swayed by a "New York" billing rather than Brooklyn.

"New York Nets" rolls off the tongue better.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I GUARANTEE you at least half if not 3/4 of current Net fans flocked there from NY between the time Ewing was traded and the year they (NJ) first went to the finals.

Having said this though, I was a Bulls fan until Jordan's first retirement, then became a Pacer fan and have been ever since. It was purely coinicedental, though, the fact that was the first year that the Pacers ever made it out of the first round in the NBA.

Oh, I don't count them as "Knicks fans"

They're the same people who switch back and forth between the Yankees and the Mets depending the decade.

They're at best, undecided, at worst fairweather fans.

Does YES have anything else to show? I know they pick up things like lacrosse games, so I'd assume they'd like to have Nets games on there to fill some time slots and get decent ratings.

You'd have to assume basketball is better for them than high school baseball.

I always used to root for the Knicks and the Nets but I became a devoted Nets fan and threw away my Knicks loyalty the day they traded Ewing.

I don't consider that bandwagon jumping since the Nets didn't start being a good team till 2001 and Ewing was traded in 2000.

Why?

When you root for a sports team, you root for the uniform.

That's not easy when you're a Hawks fan...in order to root for a uniform, they need to be filled by people who at least SOMEWHAT deserve to don them. I stuck through losing Belfour, Roenick, Chelios...got past Amonte...when Housley, Sullivan, Karhpotsev, Mironov, Fleury, Klemm, Zhamnov all departed and were replaced by AHLers, that's just a disgrace to a historic club.

Because Patrick Ewing was my favourite player and I loved him. I didn't feel right supporting the Knicks after that and forever hated them for doing it.

I had rooted for the Nets my whole time- they just became my favourite and I became more passionate about them.

I couldn't give two fucks about the Knicks after Ewing was let go. I didn't even watch a Knicks game until I went to MSG to see them retire his number

Now, obviously I don't watch baseketball, but the impression I was getting from Knick fans of mine was that Ewing had outlived his usefullness.

The truth was that Ewing was getting pretty bad, and it was kind of disrespectful that they traded him to get rid of him. That pissed off fans more than the fact that he was getting decrepid.

I have been a Knicks fan all of my life I was there for the good Ewing years, the bad Ewing years, 1994, 1999, the post Ewing years where they where bad and this year they have finally made it back to the playoffs where I think they will make a run. I think it was kind of time for Ewing to move on because he was getting really bad.

Thanks.
