Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 12, 2004 They won't be facing a useless Brave, bumbling Cub and worthless Yankee post season line up this year So you're admitting the Yanks won't be making the World Series? Because this lineup sure doesn't seem to be tearing up the basepaths. I was saying that I don't think the Cubs will turn into bumbling morons and the Yankees will actually show up if they make the WS. I still maintain you will see a final four Championship Series powerhouse of Yankees-Red Sox-Cubs-Astros. Any World Series combination there has at least some appeal. Bored 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Well, a Reds series is the perfect chance to turn it around. Nah. 1st or 2nd in the league in ERA. Wow, top of the league thru six games. Might as well start comparing them to the 90's Braves. Uh, yeah idiot, because that's exactly what I was doing. Birthday 31 October 1986 That explains that comeback. Sorry next time I'll put a for you.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 12, 2004 http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/ind...66686997050.xml Baseball: Et cetera with Lawrence Rocca Sunday, April 11, 2004 MARK PRIOR'S right elbow injury could be serious enough to require Tommy John surgery and keep him out for the whole year, according to the word circulating among baseball executives. Cubs manager DUSTY BAKER , who has a tendency to leave his starters in for extremely high pitch counts, has been confiding in friends that the situation is bleak. Losing Prior for an extended time would obviously be a big blow for the Cubs, who don't have a lot of wiggle room in their payroll budget to trade for another starter. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Sent that to Bruiser earlier. An obvious concern, and an indicator that pitch counts ARE important (hear that Dusty?)

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 They've still got Prior/Wood/Zambrano. With Pettitte out, I'd say the Central is still fairly even.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I just have to make an observation based on various YES shows and postgame shows. Gabe White wears the ugliest Brady Bunch inspired shirts on earth, and he appears to be spreading this disease to Kevin Brown.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 A's up 4-2. so I leave the tv for easter dinner, come back and it is 9-4 Mariners.......ACK. I hate when that happens...imagine how I felt Wednesday when then Mets were up 6-3 when I went to the store, I came back and it was 14-6 Braves. Pissed me off to no end. The spirit of the Bartman Ball haunts the Cubs. Gotta give my brother credit if this true. He called the Tommy John surgery when Prior went down the achilles problem. Said there was a worse injury to Prior the Cubs weren't telling people about. Than the news of the elbow problem surfaces right before the season starts. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Wait wait wait... Phillies game isn't on EI today? Wow. I was about the order EI, but I think I'll pass on that. Edit: Reasoning: Comcast that carries Philly games won't allow it. Another reason to hate Comcast.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 The Pirates' poor fielding (three errors on three consecutive plays) and mental lapses at the plate (loading 'em up with one out and getting nothing because of a missed sign) has helped put the Cubs back in the game. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Ouch. Phillies really did smoke Reds pitching today, eh? They had a HUGE 1st inning getting that ...... 1 run and all. Nice game. Couldn't watch it, damn Comcast, but I listened. I was surprised it went 9 innings. Avevedo vs. Padilla Weds.

I cant be happy that the Reds win? I can't be a smart ass like the others are torwards the Reds? Well hell, look at that. I'll gladly leave TSM if you think I'm annoying. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Ryan Madson pitched well today. 3 scoreless IP with 4 Ks. Go silver lining. I am discouraged by the fact they only walked twice today and 22 times in 7 games. They went on and on about cutting the Ks in spring training. Yet, they are still on the same K pace as last year while dropping a full walk per game. I am just hoping their heads didn't get fucked with in the whole cut down the Ks debate. geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 That chick they kept on showing on WGN during the 7th inning stretch, in the pink top with the straps down and big tits, was hot. I would not mind playing baseball with her, I wonder if she would let me steal 2nd or 3rd. Perhaps I could score depending upon the conditions.
