Maybe it's just me being paranoid and/or stupid (both a very likely possibility), but I got a bad feeling about the Christian/Trish vs. Jericho. I've got this feeling deep inside that they will do a huge SWERVE~! and have Christian turn on Trish. I don't know why. It's just the way Christian was acting before his match with Tajiri that got me a little suspicisous.

 

This would be really bad. First of all, both Christian and Jericho would be faces, which they are not as good at. And this would be a very Russo-rific angle.

I am just glad the whole Jericho-Trish romance angle is done. Talk about killing off your core audience in order to bring in a few desperate love sick females. I have got news for WWE, you still produce wrestling and most women will not watch just because of that fact alone. You drive away more of your core fans than you gain new fans. In WWE women should be sex objects or good wrestlers, that is all.

Whether it's just the heat of the feud or not, but I can't see Christian and Trish Stratus co-existing permanently (WWE-wise, which isn't usually too long).

 

If Chris Jericho and Christian were to turn on her, then that would be a great way to turn Jericho back heel, although they shouldn't yet, because it would mean that the only reason that he was turned in the first place was to feud with Christian.

 

And if Jericho and Trish were to reunite - well, I don't know... Trish hasn't done a whole lot to warrant them never doing it (getting back together, I mean).

 

It's ironic, really - Trish turns on Jericho to go with Christian. In early 2002, Stephanie McMahon turned on Triple H to go to Jericho. Speaking of which, it's much like that feud, but not in what the respective woman has done - Stephanie did a lot to Triple H which is why there was never any on-air friendship between them after that (and I don't count anything such as backstage at Judgment Day '03). Or maybe it was just time for them to finish on-air.

 

If they're planning on bringing Jericho and Trish back together, they can't have Trish do anything too harsh, as it would be unbelievable - but it's not like they have a huge amount of time left anyway, if Backlash is the blow-off. I have a feeling that it isn't.

Actually, Christian's behaviour is pretty consistent with what I think they're going with concerning their relationship. Christian is a self-serving bastard, who got the girl by turning on his friend. So, of course, it stands to reason that Trish is more or less a trophy to parade around Jericho as a final "fuck you" to his rival. He doesn't have any real feelings toward her other than what he gets in the bedroom (supposedly), and if he acts a bit apathetic about her problems before his match, that's just an extension of said selfishness.

 

If anything, that selfishness should play itself a little more and more every week until the eventual "kicking to the curb" by either person. If Trish does the ousting, she'll get the crowd on her side by "coming to her senses". If Christian pulls the plug, Trish will eventually get the sympathy of the crowd, which inevitably will lead to a Randy Savage/Elizabeth-type reunion at WMXXI for Jericho and Trish.

I actually prefer the women when they are not sex objects. The T&A women just get on my nerves. If I wanted to see nudity, I'd order porn. I watch wrestling to see wrestling, and the angles aren't a bad extra. The Jericho/Trish angle is actually one of the better ones they've had as it's been consistent, and fairly old school. I think the angle has less to do with trying to attract female viewers than it does with the fact that Jericho/Trish/Christian all agreed to work the angle together. Saying it's just to get women to watch is a little foolish.

 

I must say that the Christian/Jericho match at WMXX was one of the better ones BECAUSE of the angle
