Bored 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 This is officially the thread that will never die. Damn straight and I'm bumping it back up. My current beef with ESPN is with their airing old World Series of Poker shows on ESPN Classic. It's not a sport and there is nothing "classic" about this shit. It's fine when they stick it on Cheap Seats to make fun of it but they now air this crap about three nights a week. All the archived footage they have and this is what the choose to show on a regular basis now.

Guest Smues Report post Posted January 11, 2005 ESPN at first refusing to air the Randy Moss mooning celebration and not letting any of their shows show it was incredibly lame. Obviously they let up as I've seen it a ton now, but refusing to show a guy pretend to drop his pants, when they show worse during commercial breaks is a joke. Oh and over the last week and weekend I heard the phrase on ESPN "There is NO such thing as a shut down corner anymore" a zillion billion times, and yet either Friday or Saturday night, I can't remember, someone was doing a playoff preview and mentioned how somebody was a shutdown corner. Not showing that when they seemed to have the Pacers brawl on an endless loop for days revealed just how boundless their hypocrisy is.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Ha. That's a great point. I wasn't looking at the TV when Moss did his "moon" and I looked up right when he was "pulling his pants up." The way Buck was throwing a hissyfit I thought Moss actually did moon the crowd. Good God, I found the incident funny as hell...

They're showing a DRAMA SERIES about poker. On the sports channel. Slayer 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 ESPN at first refusing to air the Randy Moss mooning celebration and not letting any of their shows show it was incredibly lame. Obviously they let up as I've seen it a ton now, but refusing to show a guy pretend to drop his pants, when they show worse during commercial breaks is a joke. On Monday I was driving back home from Georgia to Kansas, nearly every local/regional sports talk host I heard was mocking ESPN and Joe Buck for their overreaction to the incident. Hell, I happened to find Rush Limbaugh during the last half-hour of his show on Monday and he was getting on Berman and Buck for their "moral high-horse" "We're here with Don Everest, known as 'The Matador,' for his ability to lure the young bulls into the ring and cut them down." Besides the constant airing of the commercial, the thing that pissed me off about this is that, were you to watch the series, instead of allowing you to figure out what Madsen (who is a good actor IMO) is about and letting his character develop, they just tell you right away that "this guy is a scumbag and you should hate him." It's like they took Subtlety 101 from Vince McMahon

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 you know what would be a great endzone dance? the guy humping the other teams logo or pretending to jack off onto it... better yet, after a sack, the tackler could pretend to jack off on the QB!
