Another option if WWE doesn't work out...

Negotiations continue between Steve Austin and WWE regarding his new contract, but meanwhile Austin is said to be considering making appearances in Japan once his current WWE deal ends. Austin feels that a lot of money is to be made internationally.

Right now, Austin and WWE are far apart on certain key issues including how to handle his non-WWE projects. WWE wants control over them, Austin doesn't want them to have control over them. The dispute has kept Austin off WWE TV for the past two weeks.

What the hell is he going to do in Japan if he can't wrestle? Go around stunning mid-carders in All Japan while Mutoh lights up his crack pipe?

He can sheriff all the balding, overweight Japanese wrestlers whose last good matches were in the early-mid 1990's that everyone jizzes over for throwing a kick or palm "blast" today, still.

WHAT?!? WHAT?!? WHAT!??!

Keeps him off TV, hopefully.

I'd love to see it, just to see how long it takes before he either (a) starts getting Hogan "meh, we might as well cheer" pops or (b) gets shit on completely by the fans and sent packing in a hurry.

He'd say a few wrong things and his head would probably get LARIATO~ed clean off.

Just as long as he stays out of NJPW he can go where ever the hell he wants. ;)

Considering Bob Sapp is IWGP Heavyweight Champion, I doubt the Japanese fans would mind having Steve Austin around.

Yeah, but Sapp is over because he is a K-1 god, not because of his pro wrestling work. Austin doesn't have that to back him up, but he might be good for a couple draws......that's about it.

I think we all know the REAL reason Stone Cold is heading to Japan...

Ultimo Dragon touches down at the airport, pleased to have returned to his home country. For the first time in a year he can be respected and not lose to Johnny Stamboli on Velocity every week. As he goes to collect his bags, he feels a tap on the shoulder. He turns around, a wave of beer breath hitting him in the face

Stone Cold: I'm the Sherriff and you don't work WWE style!!!

(stunners Ultimo Dragon before drinking a tiny can of light beer, spilling it down his front)

He would work matches. There is major money to be made, even if it's just a 10 minute match without many bumps. He could do a few of these on big dome cards, and make major bank.

(a) starts getting Hogan "meh, we might as well cheer" pops

Could you explain this one?

Because at this point, the only thing Austin brings to the table for me is I can say "hey, I remember when he used to do really good things" ... it's ALMOST nostalgia, and that's basically the kind of pops Hogan was getting up until he was gone.

Just like Hogan, Austin will always always ALWAYS have fans.

Maybe my statement was a bit odd, cause I don't know how big Hogan is in Japan or anything, but I can't see Austin get anything more than "hey, we know that guy!" kinds of pops. At first he'll probably get roof-exploding type pops from the crowd, but it'll wain after a while. At least, I would expect as much.

Hey, I'd watch just to spite puro geeks. Plus it'd be fun the see him get a whole new line-up of stunner victims.

And Rando, Hogan is actually huge over there. I can't explain why, since Japanese fans are known to be huge on workrate, but they love the guy. Foreign white devils= big money in Japan.

Hogan ups the workrate quite a bit for Japan.
