BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Hmm...I'll say on Family Matters, they had the young useless daughter that suddenly disapeared in around the middle of the series. Fun fact: The actress who played the child who was written off briefly became a porn star. really? 'cause she was getting hot before they took her off...I always ued to say Laura knocked her off because she was jealous, heh
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 She's also out of the industry now, almost as quickly as she got into it. I saw her in action and she wasn't bad.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 The oldest daughter and her wimpy husband on the Cosby Show served no purpose. But they brought in Olivia and she was SO damn cute. Kimmy from Full House. That was Denise who married the guy in the Army and Olivia was his daughter. The twins on Full House served no point. They should of at least kept them has babies and not rapidly agedn them. Wasn't there some geri-curl kid on Family Matters at the beginning of the series? Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Jazz from "Fresh Prince." I can remember two episodes that centered around him: the one where he got married, and the one where he helped Hillary quit her job with Queen Latifah. And he wasn't even really the focus of that episode. That being said, though, he was a pretty funny complementary character. And by the way, how come Jazz couldn't make a cameo in the series finale? All you get is Will saying, "Jazz is coming to pick me up" at the very end. Trying to remember the "Family Matters" gang... The last time I saw Waldo, he Eddie and Steve had an apartment together. But I know that didn't last until the end of the show, because by the time it went off the air, Steve and Laura were married and Eddie was a cop with his own place. Jamie, the youngest daughter, did indeed go into porn for a while (in real life). I read an article about her, and what happened was that her parents were making big contract demands, and the producers were pretty much like, "You know what? We don't need her anyway" and dumped her. She went back to being a regular kid after that, and even went to (*gasp*) public high school. There she fell in with some skanky girls, some of whom went into porn, and convinced her that her name recognition would benefit her in the porn biz. And in fact, she said she would make more money per scene than the "normal" girls. But she's since found God and is singing in a gospel group now. The actress who played Myra died of cancer, I believe while the show was still on the air, but her character had already left when Steve turned into Stephon for a lengthy amount of time. Eddie had a third buddy, named Weasel I think, but I never saw him after they left high school. Laura's friend Maxine, I don't know what happened to her. Question: Was the Grandma still on the show at the end? I know when she married Fletcher she'd come around less often, but I don't know if she technically left. And why did they switch the moms? I just remember turning it on after not having seen it in a while, and the mom was being played by Gina's mom from "Martin."
MrRant 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 The nana on Suddenly Susan. There a lot mother-type characters like her that only are there to give advice once in a while and make dumb comments. Most parent roles are either they are like that or meddling and bickering with each other as if they were little girls. While I am posting, how did they explain it when Jody (the lil sis) from Family Matters and Seven from Married With Children dissappeared? And now that I think of it a lot of characters from Family Matters seemed to disappear....Laura's friend Maxine (?), Little Richie, Aunt Rachel and her popular restaurant "Rachel's Place", the tall white guy leiutenant that had it out for Carl but was also his friend sometimes, that drug dealer with the shaved head that Eddie hung out with that was always chewing gum (don't know his name, sorry), Myra Munkhouse (I don't think they ever had her a Steve break up), and I think Waldo Faldo even disappeared at the end of the series. Anyone have the scoop on any of those characters? Seven just went upstairs one day and.... never came back.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 Jenny on 'Norm'. She nearly killed the second season dead as her romantic plotline with Norm was totally out of character and worst of all- it required Norm to act. Then they just completely forgot about her in season 3.

They did the same thing with the Cory Matthews' little sister on Boy Meets World, only she eventually returned a few years later. They even did a joke about it where her first line was "I was in my room for a long time," or something like that.

Did the writers even know?) -Commander Eddington was pretty useless on DS9 until he turned bad guy. -Pretty much everybody on Enterprise (the new one). Dude we are talking sitcoms, not sci-fi and A) No they never said where "ken-DRA! THE VAMP-IRE SLAY-AAR!" was from and 2) That was the point of his turn, make a perfectly good background player who is in a handfull of shows with no distinction other than he has a perfunctionary role as Star Fleet's main security officer on the station so that when he turned it hits you like a WTF! type of turn
Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2004 The nana on Suddenly Susan. There a lot mother-type characters like her that only are there to give advice once in a while and make dumb comments. Most parent roles are either they are like that or meddling and bickering with each other as if they were little girls. Actually PERFECT example from Friends. Well two, Mr. Heckles (The girl's upstairs really weird and cooky (Kramerequse only less funny) neighboor who dies early in Season 2) and Terry (Rachel's boss at Central Perk who just dissappeared in Season 2 and was replaced by Gunther (though Gunther is more of a goofy store clerk/manager rather than the boss of the place that Terry was) NBC wanted them (more so Terry, I think they kind of wanted it with Heckles as well) to insert a "parent" figure into the show despite A) All the characters BEING in their mid-twenties B) Right from the start you do see Monica and Ross' parents and the fact that they still have influence over them C) The POINT of Rachel's entire character arc (ESPECIALLY in the piolt) is her breaking away from any parental type of authority and D) Right away you have a divorced character in Ross, so how much constant parenting does HE still need? Well that obviosuly went no where, as it became apparent that the characters were capable of policing themselves, I mean we ARE talking about Monica as one of them for crying out loud, so the characters were jettisoned without much mention (well Terry was, Heckles got a nice sappy sitcomesque sendoff) Steve
