Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I would add The Final Sacrifice, as well, due to personal bias and a love for bad Canadian cinema.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I found my old recommendation list from earlier this year Counting through the list, funny enough, I named a lot more than thirty episodes. I trimmed the list down to 30 (bearing in mind my biases from that post are still in effect). A star next to the episode means it's on my personal top ten list. Godzilla vs. Megalon *Cave Dwellers *Gamera Pod People Amazing Colossal Man *Master Ninja I *Master Ninja II Manos Warrior of the Lost World Eegah! Mitchell *Zombie Nightmare Creeping Terror San Fransisco International Red Zone Cuba Incredible Melting Man Parts: The Clonus Horror *Riding with Death Prince of Space Invasion of the Neptune Men *Space Mutiny *Time Chasers *Overdrawn at the Memory Bank Puma Man Hobgoblins Touch of Satan *Final Sacrifice Soultaker Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders Final Justice
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 7, 2004 KTMA: Phase IV, none of these episodes are great but I'd recommend checking out at least one just to see what it was like in the early days. This episode was probably the best as the bots were on fire for this. Season 1: The Crawling Eye Robot Monster Season 2: Wild Rebels Godzilla vs. Megalon Season 3: Cave Dwellers Gamera Pod People Time of the Apes Gamera vs. Gaos The Amazing Colossal Man Gamera vs. Guiron Santa Claus Conquers the Martians Season 4: Giant Gila Monster Tormented Day the Earth Froze Manos: the Hands of Faith Season 5: Warrior of the Lost World Magic Voyage of Sinbad Painted Hills Brain That Wouldn't Die Outlaw of Gor Season 6: Zombie Nightmare Creeping Terror Skydivers Violent Years Sword and the Dragon Red Zone Cuba Season 7: all six episodes are excellent for the most part Season 8: Riding With Death Space Mutiny Time Chasers Overdrawn At the Memory Bank Season 9: ehhh...... didn't like this season. Season 10: Soultaker
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 7, 2004 My personal Top Ten would go as follows: 1. Gamera vs. Guiron 2. Cave Dwellers 3. Time Chasers 4. the movie 5. Outlaw of Gor 6. Gamera 7. Sword and the Dragon 8. Skydivers 9. Riding With Death 10. Tormented
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Heh, I didn't even think of the movie. I always considered it a separate entity from the TV show. I thought the movie was a mixed bag, really. Because of studio pressure, riffs and references were less esoteric, and aside from a couple in-jokes (The Hands of Fate), there were no references to episodes of the show. But on the other hand, they could swear, which was pretty funny in itself
Guest Smues Report post Posted December 7, 2004 How is Puma Man not on those lists? And remember to buy Puma Man cat box litter, less mess, better clumping.

Guest Smues Report post Posted December 7, 2004 That's what I get for skimming. I wish poaching protected species man would show up.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 7, 2004 It wasn't on mine but I don't like the Sci-FI era shows very much.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Holy fuck, how did I forget Warrior of the Lost World. I actually saw it in a small mom-n-pop video store in North Carolina once. Only personal embarassment kept me from demanding they allow me to buy it. MEGAWEAPON! MEGAWEAPON!
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Warrior of the Lost World seems to be one of those shows that people forget about. But you can't beat the MegaWeapon interview at the end and just the utter joy Joel and Co. had at the bike's demise. What are people's favorite host segments? KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 I had Warrior, Santa Claus, and the last Thanksgiving show on CC (Night of the Bloodbeast, was it?) on one tape, but it got screwed up and I lost everything. There are too many host segments that I like. I even contributed a transcript of one to Satellite News' Ward-E. It's the "Opening Statements" one from Agent for H.A.R.M. Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 The host segments that have always stuck out in my head are the "Film Ventures opening movie credits" bit from Cave Dwellers and the "5000 Men and Monster Fighting Kit" segment from Gamera vs. Barugon
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 8, 2004 The Cave Dwellers opening parody was always a favorite of mine too. Wild Rebels cereal is another one up there on my list as well.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 Pod People has fantastic host segments. -The Public Domain Karaoke Machine -Idiot Control Now Re-Enactment -Music From Some Guys In Space -Trumpy Re-Enactment good stuff
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2004 "I got a gun!" "I got a sawed-off pool cue with a leather strap!" "I got a hose filled with lead shots!"
Guest Cerebus Report post Posted December 8, 2004 One noticably missing ep is Space Mutiny. "Slab Beefstake! Big McLargehuge!" "Put your helmet on, we'll be reaching speeds of three!"
Guest Smues Report post Posted December 9, 2004 You know people have compared this to the chariot race in Ben Hur. They usually say "Yeah Ben Hur was really good, this movie totally sucks"
Slickster 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2004 I didn't get to watch until 1998, and even then it was a premium channel (I saw it on one of those 'trial weekends' like the Disney Channel used to do). Anyway, I was so hooked from that show that I actually watched it in Scramblevision until we got the channel. That said, I've got an obvious bias for Sci-Fi Era stuff. Pumaman and Prince of Space have always been 2 of my favorites. I can watch Pumaman over and over and always find something new to laugh at. *Pumaman hanging on to windowsill, squirming as he's inches from falling to his death* Servo (heroic voice): PUMAMAN~! Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2005 I might skip vol. 7 and get vol 8 so I can get HOBGOBLINS~! on DVD finally.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2005 I can't wait for...Hobgoblins Hobgoblins What do you do with those Hobgoblins? (From Merlin) Ernest Borgnine has finished telling his grandson the stories from his screenplay and Servo grizzledly quips: "I got another screenplay called Chinatown, but I don't like it as much". Guest netslob Report post Posted September 3, 2005 "Merlin was a thieving crackhead who fenced VCR's to feed his habit." anyone else notice that the burglar in this scene looks an awful lot like Scott Hall? Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2005 I was quite disappointed with the choices to round out set
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 I've pretty much limited my set buys to the ones that I have 2 or more REALLY good ones (by my standards, at least). I've got volumes 2 (Angel's Revenge, Cave Dwellers, Pod People, Shorts vol. 1), 4 (Girl in Gold Boots, Hamlet, Overdrawn at the Memory Bank, Space Mutiny), 5 (Boggy Creek 2, Merlin's Mystical Shop of Wonders, The Touch of Satan), and 7 (Hercules Unchained, Hercules Against the Moon Men, Prince of Space, The Killer Shrews). The I have a box VCR set (Manos, The Gunslinger, Poopie) and Mitchell, I Accuse My Parents, and The Atomic Brain on Rhino video. All in all, I feel got a pretty good selection of their best. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 the more I see the Overdrawn at the Memory Bank episode, the more I like it. I'd actually rank it up there with Hobgoblins, Manos, and Pod People. The Fat Man jokes alone make it great. "Fingal, you are miiiine!" "With burnaise sauce!" "I want more butter on my ham!" "Fingal, you are terminated." "With extreme pork chops!" "I order you to open a delicious buffet!" awesome. Except I don't like the host segments. I usually like 'em, but on this one I skip past them.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 Most of the Season 8 host segments sucked IMO because 1) a good portion of the sketches were trying to advance that running story over the whole season, at the behest of SFN, which reduced the number of host segments making fun of the movie and 2) I hated Pearl Thankfully Seasons 9 and 10 got rid of the running storyline concept and the sketch quality went back up (though they still had Pearl)
