Enigma Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 WWE.com has learned that RAW Superstar Maven will make his return on Monday night to participate in the Battle Royal. -- WWE.Com For the record, Maven is replacing Grand Master Sexay in the battle royal, who of course, was fired from WWE on Monday.
tbondrage99 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 So much for the thoughts of HBK taking his place. I wonder how far Maven will go this time, and if and when he hangs around Al Snow again.
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Just be happy the last entrant isn't Tyson Tomko.
BHK Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Well we haven't even seen Tomko work yet. The best thing Maven has going for him is his dropkick. Then again, tomko has only executed one move, and he botched it.
Zack Malibu Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Maven > GMS I'll agree with that. Also interested to see if they follow up on his teased heel turn.
BHK Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 I agree, but seeing Eugene in that spot instead would have been priceless.
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 I agree, but seeing Eugene in that spot instead would have been priceless. Especially if he went on to win the match and the title shot
BHK Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 What would actually be really sweet is if Triple H eliminated Orton, then it come down to Hardy/trips and Orton helped hardyt win, only to have Hardy lose the shot to Kane in the coming weeks. That's getting off topic however. As far as Maven returning, I hope he's re-packaged and he's learned some new moves, otherwise I'll have very little interest in him, just as I did before he was injured.
Guest Dazed Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 It was never going to be anyone important. One would assume (judgin by what WWE are doing with Raw these days), that the match has already been booked. There'd be no need for HBK to be added at the last moment, or for whatever Eugene is doing to be changed just because of a jobber being fired. Maven will come out, get some minor reaction, and be thrown out. I can't believe people are overanalysing this so much.

I'm just hoping for a re-packaged Maven more than anything. I mean, to me, his character hasn't been very interesting up to this point.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Let's see if Maven will be, still, the only Tough Enough winner to continually remind us that he did win Tough Enough. Think about it: Nidia: Jamie's hick girlfriend, now hanging in the Women's Division Jackie: Rico's...friend. Linda: Turned Shaniqua, was a manager for a bit. Matt: ...unknown right now. Johnny: Now is JOHNNY NITRO! Bischoff's Apprentice.
BHK Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 If JR mentions Maven's name in the same breath as "former Tough Enough winner" I'm assuming any chance of a push is gone.

BHK Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 It's not only that, but if memory serves me correctly, didn't maven win the first Tough Enough? That was what, 3 years ago? Shouldn't his character have evolved by now?
Guest Nanks Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Whilst it would be good to have him move on from being Maven: Tough Enough Winner. It wouldn't be good to take away his Tough Enough entrance music. Man that song's cool.
thuganomics Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Maven should be put back on Smackdown. He couldn't hurt the show any...
Guest Trivia247 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 only thing good about Maven is his theme music
jester Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 When is Nowisnki due back? I was kinda digging his heel character. If only he could stay uninjured. "Good news Mr. Nowinski! Now that you're healthy, we're sending you to Smackdown!" "Oh. Yay for me." "And were putting you in a high profile feud with...BOB HOLLY!" "I think I'll kill myself now rather than give Holly the satisfaction."
Toxxic Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Nidia: Jamie's hick girlfriend, now hanging in the Women's Division Jackie: Rico's...friend. Linda: Turned Shaniqua, was a manager for a bit. Matt: ...unknown right now. Johnny: Now is JOHNNY NITRO! Bischoff's Apprentice. Was going to win the Cruiser title from Chavo, but got concussed by Bob Holly the weekend before. Giving us Jaqueline, the only known wrestler who's breasts are individually bigger than her head.

Except for that one girl that Hall and Nash wrestled a while back on Nitro.
Art Sandusky Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Good, I've always liked Maven. I'll be glad to see him back after his last run had great promise but got cut short.
Guest Dazed Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Giving us Jaqueline, the only known wrestler who's breasts are individually bigger than her head. ignoring anything you said about gender...
Aero Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Do you think Maven can shake the ring rust and win the Battle Royal this Monday on RAW? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes 51.79 % No 48.20 % Total Votes: 8928 Got to love rigged WWE.com polls.
BHK Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 When is Nowisnki due back? I was kinda digging his heel character. If only he could stay uninjured. His post-concussion syndrome is/was quite bad. I don't know if he'll ever be back. At least, WWE hasn't had an update on him in quite a while. The last thing was an article stating how severe his injury was. That was months ago.
