Styles 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 Going to the DC Show on October 17 (Section 102, 15th row) and Philly Show October 19 (Section 121, row 11). I wanted General Admission tickets, at least for the Philly show but even through a club presale, those went really quickly, and even today when I checked the ticketmaster main sale, upper deck was the best avaliable and then within minutes it was totally sold out. Philly loves their 'Tallica. This will be my 3rd and 4th times seeing them, both other times in stadiums, so Im pumped for a couple arena shows, finally. Anyone else going to this tour? Please keep the useless Metallica bashing (OMG ST. ANUSLOLSELLOUTICALOL2004~!!!!111) out of here, because I've heard it all, so you're saying nothing original. If you want to talk about past Metallica concerts you went to, that's cool. I actually like Godsmack too (ohhhh boyyy...here we go, again just save the OMGALICEINCHAINSRIPOFFWICCANSLOL2004 stuff too. Considering the last 2 times I saw them they took Korn, Kid Rock, Limp Biskit, Deftones, Mudvayne and other horrible crap with them, Im thankful Godsmack is at least a band I don't mind. swan 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 Metallica, Danzig, and Suicidal Tendancies is in the top 10 of all concerts I have seen (when the hell was that????1994 or 1993???). Regardless of the crap they release, you'll always see a pretty good show.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 Yeah Metallica still does good live even though their albums suck nowdays. Sadly they're not coming to Houston this time around. Atleast not that I saw on their website.

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2004 I can't really get into Godsmack that much. If I listen to more than two of their songs in a row I get bored with them because it all sounds the same.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2004 Cover your ears during 'One'. Seems counter-productive, but you're ear drums will thank me later. They played Australia in January and I managed to fight my way through to the very front of the mosh pit. *Awesome* show, loads of old school stuff from Kill 'Em All & ...And Justice For All. Whether they've incorporated some stuff from the Load/ReLoad era for this leg of the tour I don't know, but either way, it's worth the price of admission. They still rock. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2004 OH MY GOD I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE SHOW IN OKLAHOMA CITY!! SO FUCKING BADASS! Man it was awesome. I will have pics up hopefully tomorrow! I took pics of the band, my friend caught a guitar pick thrown by James, there were boobs being shown all over the arena in between Godsmack(ROCKED!) and Metallica(ROCKEDxinfinite!), and I sat next to a stripper who wore next to nothing and took a picture with me! jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2004 They've played some awesome stuff this tour and have been amazing sounding together. They've played Dyer's Eve, Metal Militia, Trapped Under Ice, and a few other rare songs recently. They haven't played much Load/Reload stuff and have added solos into a couple songs from St. Anger. It's definitely worth your money.

Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2004 I went to both shows in Calgary and they were the two best concerts I have ever been to. Both sets brought some good old stuff (Dyers Eve, No Remorse, The Four Horsemen, Fade to Black) and the band played with tons of energy and intensity. The second show was a little better because I was at the front of the pit and got a shirt thrown by Lars as well as high fives from James and Lars, but both shows were just incredible. I'd highly recommend going to see them.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2004 James has cut his hair!? Is it bald, Dama? Hard to tell if he shaved it all off or it's just really, really short from that pic you took. And I thought you were meant to be fat or something.

They've played Dyer's Eve, Metal Militia, Trapped Under Ice, and a few other rare songs recently. Wait a minute....When did they play Trapped Under Ice? I've been checking the setlists and haven't seen it in there. If they are palying it, they better play it in Boston, dammit! Although Metal Militia would rock, too. Can't believe I gotta wait until October to them, gonna be a long wait.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2004 I mentioned Trapped Under Ice because I have an MP3 of it that I got while downloading some other stuff they played recently. I checked and it turns out it was from 2000. I wouldn't be surprised if they break it out eventually during the tour, though.
Styles 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2004 www.metontour.com is the official Metallica tour site (you need to register-its free though). It has reports, pictures, full setlists and some have videos from every show on the tour. Also www.livemetallica.com is where you can buy mp3s for any show on the tour for 9.95 or FLAC for 12.95. Especially cool if you went to a show, you can buy it as a keepsake. Just thought I'd plug those, since Metallica could use some attention and money!

And I thought you were meant to be fat or something. For the last time. I'm not really fat. I'm just big. I have broad shoulders and I'm just a big person. I do have a gut but that's it. I'm not some huge guy with man tits and rolls hanging over......I don't even have rolls. If you wanted to put me in a category I'd be a big guy with a beer gut. And no James isn't bald. He had his hair slicked back.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 James Hetfield sucks live though. Out of every live piece of concert footage I have seen/heard, he never sounds even remotely close to the way he does when the music is digitally produced.
