I liked your opening Stephen. While some might say it's always been this way, I think the openings are beginning to take on a life of their own; from a James Bond/action movie spoof (License to Pin 2003), to the definition of "friends" (School's Out 2003: EvenflowDDT vs. OAOAST Champ Zack), the openings are taking more creative chances, if you will. Everything I read was enjoyable. The stuff with Thrillogy was great, especially the intro's for Sly/Calvin. I am neither hip or cool so GPX's promo was corny (Yes, I wrote). I know GPX have lots of supporters, but like the greatest color man in the biz today said: "...they have no soul." That's why BT are still your tag team champions. I'm am interested to see where the SJ/PR alliance is headed. PR is hardcore when it comes to writing. Will he really get a shot at the title? I guess we'll find out. I enjoyed Sly's Euro rounds match, that's an interesting format for a wrestling match. Hoff's introductions before the match were pretty funny as well. Oh and what was up with the weird typos in my ladder match? 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9....10 became 1??????????0! and there was a bunch of "br>" Oh and Hoff is one fast man to get run off by Axel and then come back around to the entryway. NYU 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2004 AJ Flaire vs. Rick Edwards - Very fun ladder match. The stuff with AJ biting Rick's open wound was crazy. It really showed just how much these men hated each other. The ending was nicely done as well, with Rick not having to rely on any interference to finally get the X Title. A Rick Edwards title reign looks like it could be a lot of fun. Black T vs. Global Party Exchange - First off, I have to state that I loved the Jivin JR commentary during this match. He really is such an insanely fun, original character. Besides that, I liked the story of the match. Black T was having trouble with dealing the aerial attacks of GPX but, with their experience and intelligence, they were able to pull off a win at the end. Like I said in the prediction thread, Black T is definitely the team to build the Tag Division around. Sly Sommers vs. Calvin Szechstein - Nice match. Very technically-intelligent contest. I actually had to mute my music and really pay attention to read who was taking down who, and which guy was stuck in a ball-and-chain. Interesting concept, and I really think it was pulled off well. I wasn't too crazy about the ending with the Hoff interference - it seemed strange to pull off that kind of finish after the match had gone so far and Calvin had proven himself nicely - but it did put over Thrillogy, so it's not much of a problem. Again, I really liked it. Tha Puerto Rican vs. Colombian Heat - Great match to read. The brawl managed to be both intense and fun, and I was honestly interested the entire way through! The comments they yelled at one another were excellent as well. I was genuinely surprised by Popick having such an effect on the ending, and I'm anxious to see where this one's going. Insanely good brawl. Zack Malibu vs. Crystal - Very well-written Main Event. Crystal was put over great, to the point where you just couldn't help but cheer for the underdog. The handicap nature of the match worked nicely with Zack/Candie both trying to take out Crystal, yet she was trying to come back just as strong, if not more. The back-and-forth excitement and pacing of the match was amazing. OTHER NOTES: Nice opening. Papacita, GREAT job on the graphics tonight! I was excited to see that I actually had one. .Pleasantly surprised to see PR next in line for a Hevayweight Title shot. If anybody deserves it based on writing ability, it's him. It seems a little odd that two heels are going to be feuding for the title, but I'm sure it will be handled nicely. Loved the Hoff segments tonight. His introductions to the European Rounds match were hilarious, and I was happy to see him win the 24/7 Title tonight. I'm sure Hoff is going to be able to write some incredible backstage segments with his updated obnoxious attitude and a new OAOAST Title Thoughts and comments on the Drek/Cappa match would be GREATLY appreciated. I am PUMPED that several of you are interested in the SJ/PRL storyline. I won't reveal where this is going, but will PRL get a title shot? Will SJ align with anyone else...and more importantly...Is SJ still a Mad Cappa Fan? I hope everyone noticed the nod to Cappa. One day I hope he gets to read what happened while he was away. The matches were of a very high caliber...Honestly, I felt the European Rounds to be my personal favorite match. More will be revealed thursday...Expect something unexpected. The entire Drek/Cappa storyline had already been outlined with MST3K and verified with Cappa just to make sure. If that's going to be a problem, please feel free to PM me. Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2004 The intro was cool. I especially liked the salute to Cappa, I thought that was very cool. The segment with Gunner and AJ was very cool, and it served its purpose. I'm not always a fan of injury angles, but this one so far has been well done. AJ vs. Rick was a very violent spotfest that I was into. I really felt that either man could have won at various points, which is always good. I liked the spot when Rick pulled the bottle from udner the ring, that was good. I didn't like Abe interfering, but it worked in the context of the match, playing off of the previous segment and AJ's bad condition. Black T and GPX's promos were great, especially the GPX, who I continue to love. The Punk'd joke was a great laugh. Black T is growing on me more and more. The match itself was tremendous, and definitely made GPX look good in the loss. I still say the money's in the chase and I hope this feud goes for awhile. Cal vs. Sly had a really cool aspect with the European Rounds format that made it different and fun to read. I thought the falls were well done, and the psychology was great. It was a very cool back and forth affair. Drek vs. Cappa was NUTS, and probably the match I was most looking forward to. The psychology was great, especially with the tremendous finish, and I loved it from start to end. NY has just been so good it's scary. I hope, HOPE this feud goes on if these are the kind of matches we'll be getting. PR/Heat was definitely different with VX and Lindsay on commentary, but it was a lot of fun. A pretty wild brawl with a lot of fun spots (the 40oz was great). The finish was a good way to put PR over without making Heat look bad, but I'm real curious to see where this goes. Malibu/Crystal was tremendous, probably the MOTN, ESPECIALLY the insane finish sequence. Crystal REALLY looked like a good, credible challenger. Overall, I thought it was a good show, all good matches. I'm a little confused about the ending, but I guess we'll see what happens next. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I loved the match and I can't wait to see where you are going to take this feud. I'm sure The Mad Cappa would love it too. And I liked the nod to Cappa during the intro. That was very nice of you, Popick. Glad to see people liked the Empty Arena Match. And I'm glad that Popick's heel turn was a suprise. SJ and I had this planned for a month now, and no one expected it to happen, which was a good thing. There will be some interesting devlopments coming from this alliance, I can guarantee you that. And I'm also glad the ending was a suprise too. I'm still reading the show, but I've liked what I read. Once again, an excellent OaOasT show, and I'm sure a show that is better than Judgment Day (although I haven't seen Judgment Day, but I'm sure this show is better than it). Not only did I not know about the add-on ending to the PPV (which, honestly, took away from the importance of the Zack/Crystal match which was written to elevate Crystal to the main event level), but if SJ and PRL are heels, why in the hell would they confront Zack of all people? Plus, it throws a wrench into plans that have been developed that will extend for a while. I'm all for surprises and such, but the people involved should know about it. The whole Thrillogy angle was planned in advance, and everyone that had a part (myself, Cal, Hoff, Sly, and Crystal) knew of everything in advance. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2004 Alright, I read the whole show. I loved it personally. The only match that I didn't really get into is the Empty Arena Match. Not a knock on PRL, but I haven't really been following that particular storyline. Other than the main event, my favorite match was the Sly/Cal match. Very original. I don't need to shower my praises, because Sly knows exactly how much I liked it. I'm really confused by the ending. Why are heels confronting each other? Especially main event heels? Adam 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2004 Awesome show in all guys, and I echo the thoughts of Zack when I ask what the fuck was going on with that ending? When people have a lot of plans that they have carefully gone through, they don't really want someone just coming in and starting a new major angle without consulting anyone. Also, it makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to have PRL and Zack now 'at odds' or something, especially since Zacks new best Bud Calvin and PRL were good friends just two months ago at AngleMania. Heel/heel feuds are great and all, but as Crystal said, it leaves the main faces out in the cold. Sure, by all means start a good angle, but why the hell wouldnt you consult the Champion if you want a new challenger to his title? Just my two cents, because I can't understand that angle at all. Now, onto the happy stuff. MAD props to LPYC for a simply awesome X Title Ladder match. I know I speak for us all when I say that we are glad he is now back in the fed. I'll be honest and say that I haven't read an OAOAST event since Zero Hour, but I was bored today and just looked it over. Very good writing all around; much better than anything I ever wrote. I was trying to play up Coach's love for Crystal, and him loving the babyfaces. I was also trying to do the HARD sell on the new heel persona. SJ, thanks for the 10 bell salute. That really made my day and I really appreciaited it. I've actually been reading most of the shows (in the very little free time that I have), I just haven't been able to respond (or really contribute for that matter). I really would like to thank everybody for the support and giving me good times in the midst of a not so good time down here on the ship. Especially to MST3K Mark and NY Untouchable, thanks for keeping my character alive and well in the time I've been gone. Two things that I've just noticed now.
