The Ill One 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2004 I'm getting into boxing a bit more and it'd be really cool if you could point me in the direction of the some of the most classic matches. I've seen a lot of recent and whatever is on ESPN on Friday Night Fight (I'm actually starting boxing soon but I digress). So I think some of the older classics or "mandatories" would be awesome- links too if possible, since Kazaa isn't the best. Oh and my favorite match I've ever seen is Hearns versus Hagler, by far. Aside from classics like the Thrilla in Manilla, Rumble in the Jungle, etc., I'd try to find fights from your favorite boxers, you know, title bouts, etc. Oh, and good choice on Hearns vs. Hagler. These two guys had a nasty feud. They were boxers from two different molds and had an entertainin rematch. From what I've read and heard, these two had legit animosity between each other. Duran goaded Leonard into brawling with him in the first fight and ended up defeating Leonard. In the rematch, Leonard completely outclassed him. He was winding up for windmill punches and doing all kinds of showboating, but he was backing it all up. He demoralized Duran and Duran actually quit the fight with the infamous quote, "No Mas." I'll second the Tyson/Douglas reference, as it's probably my favorite fight ever, believe it or not. Mainly because Tyson's my all time favorite, but all the stuff surrounding it, and watching poor Buster spill his guts to win the fight..it's beautiful. Wasn't a fluke loss, either. Who throws the best punches (form)? What are the most heated (legit hatred) confrontations or bouts? I've seen the Lewis and Tyson incident and wondering what other type of conferences has had that type of incident. Oh yeah and any great links to any boxing sites would be awesome. Huge thanks. I'll assume you're talking about handspeed, which is about the most important thing a fighter can have, outside of conditioning. Right now, Floyd Mayweather is probably the quickest guy in his respective division, though Manny Pacquiao is right there with him for his own. My favorite puncher of all time is Tyson, simply because of how explosive the man is. Form-wise, different fighters are famous for different punches. Joe Frazier's got his rolling left hook, Larry Holmes was known for his jab, Foreman's hooks were lethal as well.. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
