Red Baron Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Maybe its been done, maybe it hasn't, or haven't done in ages. And I dont feel like finding the thread anyways. Today, with a nice paycheck, and a gov't error on my taxes, I decided to spend some money. Today I picked up ESPN Baseball (boo Giambi, where's Damon) and EA Fight Night (which is highly addicting).
AndrewTS Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Renegade finds it highly unlikely that an EA game, Fight Night, is as good as the magazines say. Your thoughts? I recently got Metal Slug 3 for X-Box.
Renegade Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Renegade finds it highly unlikely that an EA game, Fight Night, is as good as the magazines say. To be fair I've never played it but you know...its EA!
Guest CurryMan Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Renegade finds it highly unlikely that an EA game, Fight Night, is as good as the magazines say. Your thoughts? I like it, but somethings are drawbacks. When you move upword the scale the matches gets looong and the people you will fight arent that active and you´ll have to chase after them to have some fighting done. But its the best boxing game I have tried anyway. ---------- I have picked up recently Knights of the Old Republic (cant understand how I have missed this game, not fan of Star Wars or the genre but the game is awesome.), and Rallisport Challenge 2 this is a definitly a must have if you like those kind of games.

To be fair I've never played it but you know...its EA! I couldn't figure out Fight Night. If you love boxing, it'll probably rock your world --- but I always ended up accidentally hitting a low blow and getting DQ'd. And ESPN baseball? How is it? I love my MVP --- but I am curious as to ESPN's level of quality. I have picked up recently Knights of the Old Republic (cant understand how I have missed this game, not fan of Star Wars or the genre but the game is awesome.), and Rallisport Challenge 2 this is a definitly a must have if you like those kind of games. Don't forget to DL the new world off XBox Live for KOTOR. -=Mike

Might be the current one. -=Mike
Agent_Bond34 Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 My recent purchases: Madden NFL 2002 - PC Enter the Matrix - PS2 (it's a good buy at $17.99) I also picked up a Nintendo 64 and some games. The games were: WWF WarZone WCW/nWo Revenge WWF WrestleMania 2000 GoldenEye Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire I got WarZone and Revenge when I first got the system, then got the other three games a day later.
AndrewTS Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 "Enter the Matrix - PS2 (it's a good buy at $17.99)" No, it isn't.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Not necessarily a purchase, but I traded in the following: NFL Gameday 2001 (PS2) NFL 2K3 (PS2) Simpsons Skateboarding (PS2) WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain (I chronicled the problems I had with that game in a thread last year) Black and Bruised (PS2) NBA Street Vol. 2 (PS2)- Beat the game, no need to keep it around. Dragonball Z: Budokai (PS2) WWE Wrestlemania X8 (GC) Worms Blast (GC) Ultimate Muscle (GC) for two games: Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GC) Pokemon Colosseum (GC) Yes I know I'm the Atlanta Hawks of video game trading.
Agent_Bond34 Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 "Enter the Matrix - PS2 (it's a good buy at $17.99)" No, it isn't. Maybe for you... However, it's like they say... "Different strokes, different folks" Plus, Costco's GH titles were very limited, and that was the best choice available.

Black Lushus Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Got Champions of Norrath in April -- that's about as recent as I get... how are you liking that? i loved it at first, but it's a tad old now....
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Plays just like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (I'm not getting the second one until it drops in price), although that pseudo-Diablo skill tree is a nice touch. I usually just invest points into 2 or 3 skills. The first time through I was a Barbarian and the better half was a Ranger. This current pairing has me as a Sorceress and the better half as a Shadow Knight. It's not bad, but I can't imagine playing it solo -- that would be so boring. Right now I've got about 9 points into that low-level frost attack and about 3 points into that wizard beam attack -- my third spell will probably be that fire shower you get when you get to be level 15. Funny thing was for that first game we didn't know what level we'd end the game on (for us it was 17-18), and the better half always hordes her skill points in games like this and Diablo II, so when we finally finished the game she said "that's it?" and I laughed because she didn't get to put points in some hippie arrow attack she wanted to use. Here's a question: Whenever one of us would die, the other person had the ability to zoom in regarding the game screen -- is that a one-player-only feature? I'd imagine so, but thought I'd ask anyway...
Black Lushus Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 yeah only one player could zoom in which kind of sucks, it almost made it seem in some areas like if you didn't have a big screen, you wouldn't know what the hell was happening...so far I've completed all three difficulties with the Cleric, the Ranger and the Barbarian..the only areas I would spend special ability points on were strength, dexterity and stamina and any spells/skills related to such..i always have more success just straight up attacking rather than using mana skills...the game is good, but short and the only replay value it has is going through each character type to see how much you can upgrade...
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Got Crimson Skies is early April. Love the hell out of the game. I wish I could be more into my Xbox, I still have to beat Need for Speed: Underground and finish romping through my franchise mode on Madden. Is it just me or do any of you find it difficult to buy another game if you're still in the process of beating one or more? Especially if it's in the same genre?
Ced Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Champions of Norrath (PS2) Fight Night 2004 (PS2) Dynasty Tactics (PS2) Super Puzzle Fighter 2 (GBA) *dances* And to win most obscure gaming title purchased: La Pucelle Tactics (PS2)
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 With my sorceress I put all my points into Int. I put a bunch of skill points for my barbarian into slashing weapons, then put a the rest into dual wielding, and a few into critical hit. I used CH and that one skill that gives you double damage. I think I'll be the cleric the next time around; depends on what the better half chooses, but the cleric seems to be one of those characters that can mesh with any other class...
AndrewTS Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Maybe for you... However, it's like they say... "Different strokes, different folks" Plus, Costco's GH titles were very limited, and that was the best choice available. So even with that statement, you still feel the need to justify it. Ah, denial. Sorry to sound like I'm picking on you, but I buy used 95% of the time, and it kills me to spend over 15 bucks for a game unless it's a niche developer.
King Cucaracha Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Street Fighter 2, GBA. Old school, bitches! Oh, and Fire Pro for the GBA too.
chirs3 Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Whoa, three people who own La Pucelle... what are the odds?
Scroby Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 My most recent game is Custom Robo for the Gamecube, I will post here again June 8th! (hopefully) with my new videogame buys.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Just bought UFC Sudden Impact. Looks like a decent UFC fighter game. Soon your UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Vince McMahon! Rudo will shit in his pants over that one
The Mandarin Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Just bought UFC Sudden Impact. Looks like a decent UFC fighter game. Soon your UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Vince McMahon! Rudo will shit in his pants over that one How does it stack up to Throwdown? Because Throwdown was total shit.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Well I don't remember Throwdown, but Sudden Impact is MUCH better than Tapout. You have 32 fighters to choose from. They left out Randy Couture and Frank Mir though :-( The story mode is much better (There are two different "story modes" one is Champion's Road, which self-named, is a journey to the title of your choice, the other mode is more for a customized fighter training journey. Once you beat the Champion Road, you unlock a third story mode, Legend Mode, where you fight to be a legend.) It's a fun game for UFC fans.
Guest MikeSC Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 "Chronicles of Riddick". INSANELY kick-ass game. Kicks so much ass my neighbor's ass hurts. -=Mike
