I feel that David Young should win matches on Impact...and continue to lose on ppv and Xplosion...then dub himself "The King of the 6-sided ring"

It's funny that you said that, because David Young HAS worked for AAA before and is probably more familiar with that ring than most.

That said...a lot of my indy faves on free TV makes this a must-record.

A.J. Styles beat Michael Shane and Elix Skipper and Chris Sabin in a four-way match to determine the no. 1 contender for the X Title. Styles wasn't announced ahead of time, as the fourth slot was called a mystery. Fans, though, were chanting "We Want A.J." before he came out. He got one of the biggest pops of the night. Really good match to show off the X Division style. The six-sided ring added to the cool moves.

It sounds like Impact would be would be worth watching just for this match. The only match that sounds like it would be pretty bad is Abyss vs Shark Boy as it will more than likely be a squash. If I got FSN i'd definatly watch this.

An emcee being used to warm up the fans in attendance is currently explaining that the fans should “cheer the babyfaces and boo the heels.” Yes, they used that terminology.

Somewhere, last night, Ric Flair's head exploded.

The whole "only using a six-sided ring for Impact" thing still kinda baffles me. I mean is there really a point to having it, other then showing off something new and flashy? How does it add to the matches themselves? More turnbuckles? If anything, I think it'd make the matches worse, even if all the wrestlers had experience in them.

To people who aren't jaded smarks like ourselves, a six-sided ring is interesting. If someone at home is just a "meh" fan who maybe goes to the bar once a month to watch the PPVs and nothing more, he'll likely skip right over a four-sided ring Impact! just like he does Raw and Smackdown. But put a six-sided ring in front of him, and, at least for a few minutes, he'll watch.

Also, networks don't want to air wrestling at the moment. If the FSN deal doesn't work out, they'll have tapes showing TNA to not be just another plain old wrestling federation.

I'm not big on it, but from a business perspective, it's fine pending that the wrestlers get used to it.

Hey, get a fucking grip and pick what you want. You ask them to use their own talent and make new stars and whatever else you bitch about and what do they do? They use their own stars, they used Chris Sabin and AJ Styles and you complain and throw tantrums. If they would have hired Hogan, Savage, Shamrock, Nash and Hall, we would have had millions of "This shows bush league" and "They are washed up. Give your regulars a chance" bullshit posts. What else do you want?

I still dislike putting AJ back in the X-division, but at least the matchups will be all quality action. That I won't complain about, and it actually seems as if this will be an awesome show. Too bad I can't watch it till next week.......

Yeah, putting AJ back into the X-Division is kind of pointless. Why give Heavy Metal a clean pin over Kazarian when your going to use AJ as the contender?

And while putting the tag belts on AMW is good from the perspective that they're a team . . . doesn't that kind of negate Harris's recent singles push?

I know they have to do something with Styles and Harris now they've totally arsed up the World Title picture . . . but I can see both of these leading into the sort of stuff Truth got stuck with after his first reign.

At least Shark Boy's back. Everyone loves Shark Boy.

Well, giving your established stars a chance indicates keeping Harris and Styles in the ME picture --- not uber-tired Jarrett.

Pretty much they are just starting over from when the company started for the TV show it seems. They figure they've gotten this far with certain guys as champs, so why not start over for a whole new audience to keep that success. While this is bad for smarks and people from Nashville who watch the show regularly, TNA is aiming for a whole new audience who will be watching TNA for the first time on FSN. Not too big of a deal really...

Styles is the best the X-Division has, along with AMW. Look at it this way....There is Rocafella Records, a rap label. Jay-Z is the head of the label. If they were to relaunch the label, or go on hiatus and come back, would it make sense to let Jay-Z do songs with other artists and not help out his own "family"? That is sorta what is happening here. They are letting Styles ,or putting Styles with the X-Division so he can give them that rub and help them shine.

Syxx, let's say Rocafella hadn't sold squat in 2 years.

Would they keep putting out releases by their top guy who didn't draw --- or would they be wise to consider trying somebody new who the fans HAVEN'T SHOWN a tendency to just ignore?

Isn't Impact suppose to air in NYC ? Well, it's not on.

Bad start...

I'm getting a big WCW Worldwide feeling from the show.

It didn't look too bad, but its obvious they need more practice in there. I think it was more awkward to watch honestly, because of how they are no longer "corners" really, it made the tag match a little interesting.

Man, that was the first time I've ever watched Bobby Rude. I like him. He stood out to me the most in that match because he's good at doing the basics.

I've always thought he was great. I used to have an e-mail address of "bobbyrudeismyhero@..." but I dropped it because it was too long.

It was a dark match so it means nothing in the TNA world. Just getting the fans hyped up with the face winning.
