I've seen the trailer. Looks awesome. I've got June 25th marked off on my calendar.

Weird. That's that's the date in which my better half and I have our seven-year anniversary. Shit, that reminds me, I better get her gift now before it's gone.

Props to Mikey Moore for helping to remind me of this...

Due to overwhelming demand, the Fahrenheit 9/11 trailer will be down temporarily.

Please check back later.

Damn it.

Ten fantasy dollars says this is a pub gag for Mikey so he can claim that people are clamoring for his comedy, err, documentary...

Tee hee.

Ten Uncle Bucks says the anti-Moore trolls will be popping out of the woodwork to back this up any second now.

And then they'll go tell some fat jokes.

After they polish their framed, autographed picture of Rumsfield.

Please. Do we REALLY need any more backup evidence than this?

We do that anyway -- don't need this thread to do that.

I can't speak for the rest of my Conservative Brigade brethern, but I don't do autographs. If there's someone I admire, I'd rather spend the time they would use writing their signature on just shaking their hand.

MikeSC enters the room...

OK, that made me laugh.

What are you getting your special lady for an anniversary present, KKK? Can you tell us?

Well I usually get DVDs, but she's been bitching about wanting to see this one musical, so I need to get my ass in gear and order tickets. Romance wasn't in the contract agreement she signed when I became her boyfriend...

Rep. Kennedy pans Michael Moore film editing

Kevin Diaz,  Bureau Correspondent

June 4, 2004

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Rep. Mark Kennedy has unhappy memories of his filmed encounter with leftist moviemaker Michael Moore, an encounter featured Thursday in a trailer for the upcoming U.S. release of the film "Fahrenheit 9/11."

"I was walking back to my office after casting a vote, and all of a sudden some oversized guy puts a mike in my face and a camera in my face," said the Minnesota Republican. "He starts asking if I can help him recruit more people from families of members of Congress to participate in the war on terror."

Kennedy said he told Moore that he has two nephews in the military, one who has just been deployed in the Army National Guard.

But to Kennedy's annoyance, his response to Moore was cut from the trailer (and from the film, according to a spokeswoman for the movie).

"The interesting thing is that they used my image, but not my words," Kennedy said. "It's representative of the fact that Michael Moore doesn't always give the whole story, and he's a master of the misleading."

A spokeswoman for the film, which has found a U.S. distributor after the Walt Disney Co. refused to release it, said she had no comment.

A transcript released by the film's producers shows Moore telling Kennedy that "there is only one member [of Congress] who has a kid over there in Iraq." He asks Kennedy to help him pass out literature encouraging others "to get their kids to enlist in the Army and go over to Iraq."

Kennedy replies, "I'd be happy to. Especially those who voted for the war. [As Kennedy did.] I have a nephew on his way to Afghanistan."

To which Moore replies: "I appreciate it."

You need to pull a "Family Guy" on her afterwards.

That's kinda gay there, Mike.

And oddly enough, I was going to get her the Family Guy DVDs, but she wants those god-damn tickets instead...

Hey, I didn't say I would do it --- just that YOU should. :)

Get her both --- TONS o' lovin' from that kind of romantic showing.

...Besides, the DVD's are awesome --- will make up for a bad night at the theatre

A Republican panning Michael Moore? What Bizzarro World have we entered?

The same one where I'm told I'm flaming after some of the useless posts that preceded mine. Of course those posts didn't disagree with a certain Mike's political agenda so he didn't comment...

Believe it or not, we are in agreement.

Maybe it's just me but I've been noticing a lot of "U R FLAMING" posts recently. What's up wit' dat?

EDIT: We're in the same bizzarro world where Mikey took a quote out of context. Perhaps he snipped the rest of the Congressman's quote because he heard the Good Humor Ice Cream Truck and had to leave right then and there to get a chocolate cookie crunch bar or five...

Those pointless posts didn't mention anybody specifically, sunshine. And the Republican is panning the --- and I know this is shocking for Moore's work --- selective editing on Moore's part.

Fuck that shit. She's made her bed -- now she's got to lie in it.

And to make matters worse, she has to lie in it with me...

No -- the DVD's are for you. She'll THINK they're for her -- but you'll know better.

At least he wears a hat, I don't really know where I'm going with this.

At least he doesn't look like Peter....guy finds a way to looks he's just a guy who lives in his mom's basement when he wears a tux.

Back to the movie. Bowling for Columbine was damned good. I'll be going to watch this.

And you deliver the content like few others.

For that, we're grateful.
