Vanhalen Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 I was watching some old WCW worldwide from 1990 on Sky Sports last week, and its amazing how many moves just arent used anymore, for instance atomic drop, how many moves and finishers can you think off, that just arent used anymore?
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Garvin stomp........for all the right reasons.
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Sleeper, where the guy actually goes to sleep. On old Mid-atlantic and Georgia Championship wrestling they used to make a big deal about the guy who applied the hold being responsible for waking his opponent up after the match. This usually consisted of a hard slap to the back of the neck.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Boston Crab, once Jericho made it his finisher.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 The Tomahawk Chop. Haven't seen that one in a good while.
Guest jm29195 Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 Slingshot Suplex. Randy Orton did one for a 2 count in Birmingham last weekend, must've been channeling Tully or something....
Boner Kawanger Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 I swear, I almost posted "I wish Orton would bring it back".
The Mandarin Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Hiptoss as a credible finisher ended in about 1995.
Guest drdrainoscott Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 The abdominal stretch. No they still use that. It's a favorite of Rock's I'm pretty sure. The airplane spin is never used anymore and the camel clutch has pretty much vanished too.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 A normal sitout powerbomb, the one held for a pin, legdrops, and the swinging headscissors
JST Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 That one could be out of respect for Droz, who used it as a finisher. Oh and D-Lo accidentally crippled him with a similar move. Eugene does the airplane spin.
razazteca Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 I have not seen a Senton used anywhere in a long time. Or the Mr Perfect snapmare of when the opponet is sitting up. Did the legdrop die with Hogan?
thecitythesky Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 i haven't seen a spinebuster in what seems like forever.
Corey_Lazarus Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Michinoku Driver. That used to be THE favorite finishing move for a lot of indy wrestlers back in the late 90's. Now? Only TAKA and Juvi still do it, pretty much.
Guest netslob Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Indian Deathlock...ur, i mean "Native American Deathlock".
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Indian Deathlock...ur, i mean "Native American Deathlock". Didn't HHH try to pull that out fro a couple of matches a few months back, and JR was selling it like a move of death? I don't remember if it was the Indian death lock or not.
TheBigSwigg Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Indian Deathlock...ur, i mean "Native American Deathlock". Didn't HHH try to pull that out fro a couple of matches a few months back, and JR was selling it like a move of death? I don't remember if it was the Indian death lock or not. Yes, HHH did use it. And I thought it was Indian, as in from India, not Native American
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 And I thought it was Indian, as in from India, not Native American I don't know, I always kind of assumed it referred to the position like sitting "Indian Style". It's sort of the same form...or maybe that's just my imagination.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Michinoku Driver. That used to be THE favorite finishing move for a lot of indy wrestlers back in the late 90's. Now? Only TAKA and Juvi still do it, pretty much. Rene uses it as his finisher.
Guest jm29195 Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 Or the Mr Perfect snapmare of when the opponent is sitting up Batista did one against Edge in Birmingham last weekend...
