Guest CronoT Report post Posted June 14, 2004 And for the record King of Hearts, as I'm SURE you know.....Spawn was the king of the Soul Caliber Gauntlet Spawn was only put into the X-Box fed's SC2, so his booker/agent, Todd McFarlane, would book one of his newest guys to work all three feds. Heihachi should have never been put into the PS2 fed's SC2 gauntlet. His gimmick required him to no-sell everything, and make everyone else in the fed look like a first day jobber. Link, on the other hand, was the perfect person to put into the GC fed's SC2 gauntlet. He has the experience, he's done his time, and he's not afraid to sell to other guys. Anyone here knows Link can beat anyone else on"any given day", so he doesn't have to worry about losing any heat by jobbing every once in a while.

I'm talking about his move where he spanks an opponent with his sword. My favorite new move in his moveset is the top-rope jump "Death From Above" swordstrike. Link just walks all over his opponents' heads.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 While Link has yet to cut a promo that used more than a loud yell on the major scene yet (outside of his animated series), I have heard that when Nintendo allowed him to be booked on independant shows, he may have cut a promo. I have yet to verify if htis has occured, but it's my understanding that when he worked for Phillips, it was an embarassment to his career and it's best to be forgotton. It was just someone using the Link gimmick on the indipendent circuit. Kinda like how someone tried to imitate Mega Man for the promo poster...and did a horrible job of it. His first one two. At least in the second one they made the suit used in the promo poster all blue, and not mostly yellow like in the first one.
Guest KingofHarts Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Don't forget the "Underfaker" rip off X. Who looks like Megaman and even has the same manager, Dr. Light. I really wish the real Megaman would come out of retirement. I heard when he quit wrestling and became a soccer player.

Guest CronoT Report post Posted June 17, 2004 I loved the supposed Zero heel turn angle! I was very upset when it turned out to be a ploy from mWo (Maverick World Order) leader "Hollywood" Sigma Now X and Zero, the tag team of the future, have their own S.H.I.T., Axl. He's really green, but he learns fast, and he's young. So, he can take a lot of bumps, and make it look good. Also, since he's new, he can lose more often than X and Zero, and not lose all his heat. Has anyone else seen any of Axl's work?

Guest CronoT Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Geez that's some ugly box art. Well, the Nintendo fed was still small-time back then. They weren't in as many cities as they're in now, so the quality of the booking and the set up was a little crude back then.

Guest KingofHarts Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I wouldn't Call the Japanese feds gay exactly. Don't forget The Japanese brought back the all time greatest valet Aerith. Cloud is still the legend in the FFW. (With Shadow in close second) But he lost some of his spark when the U.S. FFW fired Aeris and stuck him with that second rate Tifa. On the other hand the U.S. FFW gave us two great workers in Ruby and Emerald. So it's all a matter of opinion.

A diva gets her as in trouble, and then [random guy from the back} comes out and saves her, and then she falls in love with him, until she tries to screw him over, or the heel kills her, which prompts the standard, and boring, face vs. heel fued over a chick. It's getting a little predictable, really.

You have to admit it's a better formula then "We are your everyday stable with a warrior, cleric, mage, and thief and we need to get the 5 title belts to prevent some 5,000 yr old heel from destroying our federation.
