Okay, I'll set it up in a few...I guess I'll make it easy and name it Smartmarks...password the same. How many teams should we have? If 32 people will play I'll do 32..but I doubt it.

Edit...I set it up with 16...but I can always change it.

I got mine at EB, but I noticed at FYE that you can get a $5 mail-in rebate when you buy the game. Something to check out.

I really have to get used to using the Circle button to change players instead of X (like in Madden). I LOVE the presentation though; it might be the best of any sports game.

My girlfriend has picked up a copy for me, however I am at work right now, and then I have class after until approx 9 - 9:30 depending on how fast I can get the work done.....If all the PS2 users are planning on starting a league, PLEASE save a spot for me. I probably won't be able to get on and actually play until 11:00pm pacific time tonight, which may be too late to play any of you guys, but I just don't want to miss out on joining the PS2 smartmarks league......

My store had it in yesterday. I just assumed they wouldn't have it, but they did.

The game seems alright to me. The team ratings are a tad generous. Both the Raiders and Bucs have high ratings, which makes no sense. I am disappointed by Charles Woodson's rating as well, but I guess its better than I thought it would be.

Yes, I know I can change them.

Yea, and the kicking aspect confuses me. I'll learn.

Is it true that Fred Smoot only has a 78 rating? If so that is bullshit......well I will check for myself tonight after class :)

I meant during a play. Circle in Madden is the speed burst/tackle button, and I spent half of my first game jamming on it and wondering why I'm controlling the guy on the other side of the field that isn't even in the play.

I'm learning though, I'm learning. The SportsCenter wrapup after each week is great, as well. I'm probably not going to use the Weekly Preparation feature until my second season when I'll be pretty comfortable with the game.

This is a steal for just $20.

It is a disgusting steal. This game simply rules. I punished the Giants.

Playing on all-pro with the Patriots I've been pretty bad heh. Managed to beat the Jags 23-21 after being down 14-0 but after that I've lost 24-3 to the Indianapolis Colts and 33-3 to the Buffalo Bills. Any helpful tips on defending the pass because that's the one thing that's killing me.

Just a quick question..how exactly do you run!? I'm confused.

Went through basic training..and that tells you for speed boost just keep tapping X as you are running. But it seems he runs better as I'm just holding X.

And yea, I know how to do the charge. But sometimes I want to go a short ways so I just need a small speed boost, and repeatedly tapping X doesnt seem like it works that well...

EDIT- Nvmind, I've got the hang of it. But like someone else said, this game has to have one of the best damn presentations..to make it lifelike then any other game out there. And the commentary...is amazing, it fits well together, and the way they just bring all the stuff that's happened in the game so far is great. That also goes for the halftime, and post shows rundowns..that is awesome.

Ok, first player football, while odd..and a little harder, is one hell of a concept. It's awesome. Although when switching..it's kinda of like....woa..feels like I'm in the matrix or something. But it is awesome.

I'm also having a bit of trouble with pass defense. I guess it's all about timing your jump/tip so you don't completely miss the ball.

I forgot to mention this, but here's the moment I was completely sold: I'm playing the Giants in preseason and I'm on the 20. I get the snap and roll out to the right, looking for a receiver and see Daniel Graham as the best choice. I loft a pass to the end zone, and Graham turns towards the ball and jogs backwards a little, looking it into his hands for a touchdown.

They show the replay with SkyCam, and I swear it looked exactly like something you'd actually see in a real game. Incredible.

I suck at passing so far, all my guys seem to be constantly blanketed. Oh well maybe I should do that basic training thing.........
