Adam Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Oooooooooh, tough call. I may go, because I am yet to see Eddie, Taker, Booker, Cena (main reason to go) or RVD live.. I could afford the $149 tickets, but with plane tickets, its a stretch. Also, no Mr. Angle? I might just wait until the RAW tour so I can see Benoit, Michaels, Benjamin, Jericho (again), Edge (again), Evolution, and EUGENE~!
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Ruthless Aggression time last year, I would've killed for a SmackDown! show... Now it's the other way around. Even if the show's nothing great, the atmosphere and just seeing it all in general should be.
Adam Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 NO AUSTRLAIAN TOUR will beat Global Warning. 56,000 people, good card, AWESOME atmosphere. You could not duplicate that night if you tried. Especially if you bought the two hundred buck seats and posed as a photographer to get to behind the $750 dollar seats. The only thing I was pissed about GW was the fact that Rock's Elbow pad was caught by the guy behind me. Rock-HHH-Lesnar was above average, but the atmosphere made the match. Same with Jericho-Edge and Filthy Animals-UnAmericans. Hell, Kurt Angle pulled the best match of Tests career out of him, IMO (which wasn't put on the fucking DVD). You just couldn't beat that night, which is why I will only go to a show if it has the same (or better) star power. GW had: Rock, HHH, Lesnar, Angle, Rey, Jericho, Edge, and Christian. SmackDown has: Taker, Eddie, Cena, RVD, Rey, Dudleys. If RAW comes, it will have: Benoit, HHH, HBK, Jericho, Edge, Christian, Orton, Batista, Flair and Kane (maybe Foley, if he's back by that time). RAW wins.
Jobber of the Week Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Minor incident on tour when Bradshaw did a Crocodile Dundee impression in front of an Australian crowd. 5,000 people were ejected for throwing Fosters into the ring. No charges are being pressed, but the government may encourage those in attendance to drink better beer.
spiny norman Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 See, that whole stereotype about Aussies with Foster's, I just don't get. Nobody I know drinks Foster's, due to it being pissweak. If anybody brings Foster's to a party, they are usually complained about for not bringing anything of any worth.
Guest INXS Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I heard a rumor that Bradshaw is intending to dress up in prison garb especially for the tour.....
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Adam, I was at Global Warning and agree to it's awesomeness. What it may have lacked in other entertainment it more than made up for in wrestling quality. They wanted to make an impact due it being the first show in nearly two decades, and they succeeded. I'd rather XXXX stereotypes than Fosters. And I can't wait to hear JBD work the crowd. La Resistance last year: "What is a wanker? Is that supposed to be some kind of an insult?" Crowd: "You are, a wanker!" *Clap clap, clap clap, clap.*
geniusMoment Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Did RVD even sign his new deal? I thought his old one ended before July 12.
muzz Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Not coming to Adelaide again? Well, at least it's the Smackdown! brand that's not coming this time.
Guest Your Winner... Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I can't imagine them ever coming to adelaide, some bands dont even tour here and only do the east coast for monetary reasons, so i can't imagine something with 50-odd (?) people in the party breaking even in little old adelaide. It's worth the trip for sure, I went to both GW and ruthless agression and loved every minute of it. I missed the Perth one due to money/timing issues but methinks this ones gonna get booked in quick smart. p.s. from adelaide so the above isnt any east coast bias
Guest Your Winner... Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Hell, Kurt Angle pulled the best match of Tests career out of him, IMO (which wasn't put on the fucking DVD). Does anyone else think they didnt put it on the dvd or the tape due to tests fall from the turnbuckle to the floor? Thats the only reason we could ever think of.

The guy who caught the elbow pad was about 1m behind me!!!!!!!!!!! **MARKS OUT FOR BEING NEXT TO NICE GUY ADAM AT GLOBAL WARNING** ......and no Hobart either lol, yeah, like I was expecting any different!
edotherocket Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I think we all anxiously await the day that there is a "WWE Hobart Havoc" tour.
Guest croweater Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Well, we did have the WWA (?) come down.... they got 2000 people!!!!!
Kardo Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Well, we did have the WWA (?) come down.... they got 2000 people!!!!! Not the WWA to Melbourne. The boring chants during Jerry Lynn vs. AJ Styles were hilarious. That Test vs. Kurt Angle match was pretty good for a Test match. I think it was because of the face/heel reactions at the time since Kurt was a heel back then and a face at the show.
Guest croweater Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 I would have creamed for Lynn and AJ. No, It was Typhoon, Barbarian, Tatanka, One Man Gang and CURT HENNING!!!!!!! I marked like a bitch for CURT!!!! he and 1 man gang bled all over the place. It was a good match and I was surprised at the amount of effort they put in. Everything else was crapperific.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Minor incident on tour when Bradshaw did a Crocodile Dundee impression in front of an Australian crowd. 5,000 people were ejected for throwing Fosters into the ring. No charges are being pressed, but the government may encourage those in attendance to drink better beer. When is the WWE going to tour Africa again?
Guest Cammo Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 I think Ill be going to Melbourne and Qld shows. Sounds pretty shit shows, but hey - Ill take any excuse to catch up with the smart mark crew. I honestly think that TNA would outdraw the Smackdown crew, given the dates/arenas there.
Art Sandusky Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Bradshaw would probably channel Mansa Musa for an African tour.
Use Your Illusion Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 UYI gets to see the Undertaker in person. I get to see the Undertaker in person Hold me.
Art Sandusky Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Wow, I meant to say Saba Simba earlier, which many, many more of the people in here would have gotten.
Use Your Illusion Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Are you sure everyone here has seen the Lion King?
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Kardo, were you at that WWA show in Melbourne? How about that little fucking kid that yelled out "We want Sting!" while Bret Hart was coming to the ring for an announcement? UYI, you're going to need more than someone just holding you if you find out you can go to a 'Fan Axxess'-esque thing.
Use Your Illusion Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 THEY HAVE A FAN FESTIVAL WHERE I CAN MEET THE UNDERTAKER!? *dies*
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 The Undertaker visiting Australia for the first time would probably warrant one alone. So what are you gonna do, go smark on him or just stand in front of him quivering? And after it all, you can say "The Undertaker has been in my town." All of the history, the moments, the memories. "He's been in my town."
Adam Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 I was at the tour in 2000 as well. At that time I was about 14 and had no fucking clue who anyone except LOD and Henning was. If I was just a couple of years older, I would have stayed and payed the extra 20 or 30 bucks to get Perfect's autograph, and I would have talked to him as well.
Guest Deviant Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 Sure, announce Torrie but make no mention of a cruiserweight presence. If Paul London was on that confirmation list, I'd be busting out the $330 as we type. The bastards will confirm all the cruisers they're bringing after the tickets go on sale, so I can then regret not wasting my money.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted June 12, 2004 Report Posted June 12, 2004 ^ | Agreed. But I can see London on the show, probably being squashed by whatever Oriental guy they're trying to get over at that time.
