haVoc 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2004 RAW did a 3.6 rating this week, up from a 3.4 last week. The highest rated segment was a 4.2 for the Chris Jericho/Triple H/Eugene segment, which is a good sign for next week's RAW which features a Triple H vs. Eugene match. The six minute promo for Joe Schmo did a 3.6 rating, with the following segment doing a 3.5 rating. Surprisingly, the main event which featured an extended overrun, started at a 3.7 rating and dropped to a 3.5 by the end. Shawn Michaels will be taking the rest of the summer off while his wife is pregnant. That is the reason for the angle shot on RAW last night. HBK will then likely feud with Kane upon his return, with the two facing each other at Summerslam. - As previously reported, Triple H will no longer be taking time off from WWE this summer to film a movie. The movie has some problems that need to be resolved before shooting can start. - The Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler wore suits on RAW last night due to WWE's new dress code. - The Rock has stated recently that he will try to work RAW this Monday in Miami. He may play a factor in the Triple H vs. Eugene match. - William Regal has been cleared to return to the ring, WWE is just opting not to use him as a wrestler right now. Credit: PWTorch.com WWE is considering turning The Undertaker heel, or at the least a tweener, so that he can feud with Eddie Guerrero over the WWE Title. If he does turn heel, he would likely continue his alliance with Paul Heyman and the Dudley Boys. He may play a tweener so that he can go back to being a face after the potential Guerrero program. Almost everyone backstage is happy over the success of the Eugene character and feel that Nick Dinsmore deserves the success. The only concern some have is that the character could be getting too fast a push, which often causes people to get sick of the character. Credit: Torch Newsletter WWE.com reports that Al Snow, Victoria, Ivory, Lilian Garcia, A-Train, Eugene, Chuck Palumbo, Nidia, Val Venis, Garrison Cade, Stevie Richards, Kane, Rob Conway, Tyson Tomko, Sylvain Grenier, Edge, Molly Holly, Hurricane, Rosey, Batista, Matt Hardy and Lita all took part in a cancer charity event called "Donna's Ride," named after Al Snow's late sister. The stars raised $15,000. Credit: 411Mania
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 16, 2004 Damn, I guess I was wrong about the Rock, but he's still an egomaniac who will work 2 shows a year just because it's his hometown or a big paycheck like WM. It's nice seeing the workers do the charity deal, and by looking at the list of wrestlers, I'm amazed it's generally heels, since most charity events WWE uses mostly faces or heel divas and Ric Flair. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Damn, I guess I was wrong about the Rock, but he's still an egomaniac who will work 2 shows a year just because it's his hometown or a big paycheck like WM. He's busy in California. Whenever they come through he makes an appearence. He could just not do it and call bullshit. But he shows up, and he does so to put others over. I wouldn't exactly call the Rock an egomaniac.
Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 The Rock puts over somebody every time he comes back, and he's easily always the highlight of the show.

He may play a factor in the Triple H vs. Eugene match. what a waste of time The Rock shows up twice or three times a year in exchange for un-ending promotion of his shitty movies he needs to come back full time or stay away for good
Guest BDC Report post Posted June 17, 2004 I agree with the camp supporting Rocky. When he shows up, he puts guys over. He's not Triple H-ing guys. It's fine by me.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 - Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler wore suits on RAW last night due to WWE's new dress code. You know, I've never respected World Wrestling Entertainment or ever afforded them just a single shred of credibility. But now that Jerry Lawler is wearing a suit, FINALLY they have earned my respect as an entity of integrity.

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Let's see....Rock's current list of people put over: Rene Dupree: Whooped his ass, and now Dupree is on SD, and jobbed to Rey Mysterio last week in like 30 seconds. Evolution: Eh....it was Foley's doing, Rock just joined along. Eugene: He was already over like crazy, so Rocks rub wasn't needed. I respect the Rock for doing "the right thing" usually, but it's pathetic he can just show up every 6 months, do something, then leave again. Unlike Hogan who was doing movies in the summers of 1989-1991 while in WWF, Rock is gone PERIOD. He's had 1 match in a year. He obviously doesn't care if he's too busy making films I'll never watch. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 It makes his degrading of women seem like tactful discourse rather than the regular sub-moronic gesturings of a pathetic old man. Suited King: "Trish! Hoo hoo! Doncha just love that cunt JR?" JR: "...you can't say cunt on the air." Suited King: "Ah, but you see, my dear James, it's a medieval term of endearment. Being the king of WWE, and a noted scholar of the middle ages, I am within my rights to make this complimentary remark." JR: "Oh okay never mind King." Suited King: "So maybe I should poke her with my broad sword."
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 What else can the Rock do? Like he said last year, he's done it all in WWE. I'm happy whenever he can show up because he's always entertaining.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 17, 2004 He could always retire. Him making 4 appearences a year isn't really helping WWE. He causes a minor surge in ratings for 1 night, but thats it, and most of the time they are surprises so no one knows ahead of time. He COULD come back though for a feud with Shawn Michaels or maybe go to Smackdown and........OK, outside of a HBK feud, he's got nothing left.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Rock doesnt need the WWE. They should be grateful he still drops by to help out. And I don't get the whole "he should come back full time or stay away forever" arguement. It's not like he goes over anyone or steals heat.
