Vyce 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 I intensely dislike the "Tina" name as well. "Alexis", if they have to go with just one name, is much better. But I suppose that we should just be thankful she's going to be getting airtime. Oh, and Blade - hook me up.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 how about the story of we will NEVER See Nova wrestle in the WWE. Awww..... no Nova. No spotfests. Awwww. No, sometimes falling into that Teddy Hart catagory of "I Invented wrestling" type shit. Awww. Meh, WWE loses nothing from not having Nova. And they would gain nothing for having him. notJames 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 It's interesting how close "Tina" is to TNA. Just thought I'd point that out. My only hope is that the rumours about her wrestling skills isn't another case of Gail Kim hype.

EricMM 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Ugh in half those pics she's got total butter-face makeup on. It's just bad! But I've seen her in ROH, and she's just really cute. I've never seen her work anyone talented tho, but I've always liked her. . . . Now, for my prediction for her gimmick... She's Lita's baby, sent back through time to change the past! (It's gold, Jerry, Gold!)
Guest JMA Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Maybe she's going to be Eugene's retarded sister. Or maybe she'll be his mother...

Nova is actually much, much better than he ever was thanks to OVW. More well-rounded, a good cocky heel, and very good on promo's. Can't always judge someone on their past. People can and do improve, y'know.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Kind of like how alot of people here judge Tyson Tomko, or Kenzo, or Mark Henry, or Matt Morgan, etc, etc. Some even before they've debut'd?

You do realized that Kenzo actually wrestled elsewhere right? Because if you'd ever see any of his Japanese work.......you'd realize he should be judged harshly. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 21, 2004 I'd agree with him on Tomko and Morgan simply because not many people watch them in OVW (add Seven to the list), but Mark Henry has been around for EIGHT YEARS. He's sucked for all of them. And judging from Kenzo's TNA and MLW matches, he's sucked dick.

Silence 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Kind of like how alot of people here judge Tyson Tomko, or Kenzo, or Mark Henry, or Matt Morgan, etc, etc. Some even before they've debut'd? Tomko-He not only turned out to be another generic hoss, but he also injured Jericho twice overseas with botched moves. Kenzo-He sucks and mainly does squash matches only in WWE. His pre-WWE work wasn't any better. Mark Henry-He hasn't improved with the amount of time he's been in WWE (since 1997). I read that when he was in OVW and lost weight, he had improved, but then WWE told him to gain the weight back and he once again sucked in the ring when he came back. Matt Morgan-He wasn't THAT bad, but he wasn't impressive, either. As for Alexis/Tina, I'm not too hyped up over her possible Raw debut tonight since: 1. She could be as overhyped as Gail Kim was last year and disappoint in her first match. 2. Tina COULD be Eugene's "retarded sister". 3. Tina could be Lita's "doctor". 4. Tina could get Paul London'd and be stuck on Heat jobbing to Jazz after losing to Molly Holly or Gail Kim on Raw tonight.

Vyce 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Kind of like how alot of people here judge Tyson Tomko, or Kenzo, or Mark Henry, or Matt Morgan, etc, etc. Some even before they've debut'd? I find it interesting that you bring up all of those men, because in this day and age of the Kenzos and the Tomkos, I don’t see how you can come out and say that Nova has nothing to offer the WWE. Even judging him on his ECW work – he has FAR more to offer than a thousand Kenzo Suzukis or Tyson Tomkos. Edit: Jaxl brings up a good point about the tag team thing. Both tag divisions are seriously anemic. Why not simply put Nova in a tag team with someone else who otherwise doesn’t have much going on right now? It always frustrates me when the WWE has guys who are just toiling away for no good reason in the midcard / lower-midcard ranks when they could be doing SOMETHING. Sometimes they take the hint: look at Billy Gunn & Hardcore Holly. Are they the best tag team in the company? Far from it, but at least the creative department realized that, individually, they had nothing for these two guys to do so they made a tag team out of them. Debut Nova, stick him with somebody (why not former bWo frontman Stevie Richards? He ain’t doing too much these days), and you’ve got another tag team on RAW. Which will bring the number of established tag teams on RAW to……three.

My only hope is that the rumours about her wrestling skills isn't another case of Gail Kim hype. Considering all I've really heard about Alexis is that she can bump well, but is limited offensively, I'd hope she can at least live up to that. If not, that's pathetic. Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 All I've ever seen her do is bump and hit a few highspots (rana, crossbody) It's WAY too early to know how she'll be in actual MATCHES in front of an audience of millions, so don't believe the hype just yet. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 22, 2004 I was unaware WWE arenas held 1,000,000+ people. Wrestling on live PPV is still wrestling on TV. Unlike Gail Kim, who I doubt anyone ever heard of, (did she wrestle ANYWHERE before WWE?) most people who watch Indy's have seen Alexis' work, and she's probably better than 90% of the women "wrestlers" on WWE TV now. Not that it's an acomplishment, but still, she's pretty good.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 I was unaware WWE arenas held 1,000,000+ people. Wrestling on live PPV is still wrestling on TV. The audience for RAW is so much bigger than that of TNA's PPVS, it's not even in the same league, plus the house is much bigger. She's never wrestled in that environment with that much pressure, so it's premature to crown her as the saviour of the women's division.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 22, 2004 Still, she's had a lot of exposure in TNA, I think ROH, and countless Indy promotions. She's not some twit no one ever heard of, but is being billed as the next Rey Mysterio Jr.
Silence 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 She's not some twit no one ever heard of, but is being billed as the next Rey Mysterio Jr. She's probably going to suck in WWE, then, since I remember other people calling Gail Kim the next Rey Mysterio before she even debuted on Raw and turned out to be a flop. Should I be worried that I find the thought of her taking a Foley-ish chairshot from Trish somewhat arousing? Nah... It's perfectly healthy... I've been waiting for Victoria and Trish to go out and do some bladejobs on each other for 2 years now... Well, now that Alexis is coming up, maybe she will do the blades. Silence 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 You missed the joke completely. I was insulting how Gail Kim was unknown to most people but was billed as the next RMJr. That's probably the millionth time that sarcasm has gone over my head (Downhome ribbed me about it one other time about Ric Flair "being a high-flyer", heh heh). Anyway, we'll see how Alexis does in WWE. Hopefully it won't be as bad as Gail Kim's debut was.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Excuse my ignorance, since I've never seen Alexis actually wrestle, but in these decent-good matches she had, was she facing men or women? Because remember that video of Gail Kim that came out before she debuted with all those impressive spots? The spots were done by men, who could easily carry (no pun intended) her. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 24, 2004 ...Mainly men. But all the matches were brawling and weapon shots, and I think if she can take chair shots from Jeff Jarrett, she can take one from Trish or whoever.
