DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 I just noticed the bit of text at the bottom of this shot. Match, Entrance & Cut-scene attire. Cut-scene attire? Sweet! Is that Eugene or Johnny Damon?

Aero 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2004 IGN has their wrestler of the day videos for Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, HBK, and Ric Flair up now. I'd say that all of their entrances are pretty much perfect, except Flair has his other music from 1992, which I suppose is better than just the option of Evolution. HBK's entrance is perfect and up to date this time around. Just doesn't seem like there's as much anticipation for this game like last year's.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 PRetty cool that ring intros are back in the game, done by Lillian or Chimmel depending which show it is (nice touch). Wonder if Fink does it for PPV. Anyway, GamingRing.com is doing daily updates of the game now, here's a few pics (they're not that interesting.. just match-up screens. There is one neat one at the end though). Edit: I believe he takes pictures with a webcam, so that's why they look the way they do. Oh, here's one that shows the CAW Match Screen pose in action. CAW Match-up screen
dubq 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 PRetty cool that ring intros are back in the game, done by Lillian or Chimmel depending which show it is (nice touch). Wonder if Fink does it for PPV. I hope they ad some kind of 'arena echo' or sound treatment to the announcers though.. right now it just sounds like a plain old voiceover. Not that it realllly matters to me. I always turn that and commentary off for my games.
Aero 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 IGN has Eddie Guerrero and Hardcore Holly up, now. Obviously, Holly isn't anything special, but Eddie DOES have the lowrider, making for a perfect entrance. Here's the link... IGN Videos
Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Hardcore FUCKING Holly's in this game? Christ, would it be that hard to take him out and add London, who's actually getting a decent push now? I haven't seen Holly since like, the Royal Rumble. THQ better add London's awesome shooting star into the CAW or I will be PISSED.

Aero 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 There's been a strong rumor circulating around several popular wrestling message boards that former WWE employee "Stone Cold" Steve Austin would be appearing as a secret character in the upcoming PS2 game WWE SmackDown vs. RAW. The gossip, as it's told, is that the Texas Rattlesnake appears as an optional wrestler after players have cleared all 60 of the game's Madden-like "Challenge" mini-games -- a fantastic secret indeed. And though we always knew that it was refried Jawa crap as soon as we first heard the rumor, the false news has spread like wildfire and needs some legitimate clarification. To get it, we went straight to THQ and asked their rep for an official statement, After laughing together for a good 30 seconds, here's what he had to say: "We've received an enormous amount of inquiries regarding this," he stated. "But after players complete the sixty challenges they won't unlock an additional Superstar or Legend, but instead, they'll have access to an alternate costume that we think the fans will get a kick out of, let the speculation begin!" And so there you have it. The truth and nothing but. And just so that another rumor doesn't spawn out of this one -- no, the costume does not belong to Stone Cold. Have a good weekend fibbers! I wasn't even aware there was a rumor, but any speculation on the costume? I'm going with either Cactus Jack or Dude Love costune for Mankind, which I would like, especially if they put in both of their themes.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Here's a blurb from GamingRing.com (where they have an 80% build and are posting videos) about the Challenges The season mode which I really cant get into specifics here I can tell you that this game will have a very long and lasting replay value. THQ informed me that the story mode should take most players a little over 10 hours to play through. And when you take in consideration the 60 challenges that you have to unlock and meet while playing the game this literally can take you quite a while to unlock and meet all of the requirements. Especially the legendary level. There going to be pretty tough. I can also dispel the rumor of Stone Cold being in the game as the secret surprise. Thats bs, I am not going to ruin the surprise for any of you but I can say that its a treat for the hardcore fans who can meet all of those 60 challenges. Basically from what I gathered from talking with THQ about the Challenges was that the inspriration from the challenges came from the Madden Cards in Madden 2005. This really does add a unique and significant improvement to the gameplay.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted September 26, 2004 They better have taken out the fucking hardcore title this time. That shit shouldn't have been in the last one! Tale of the tape? Fucking rad. The secret will be the fucking chicken suit. No, I'm not joking. Watch.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 My ideas for that "alternate costume fans will get a kick out of": - Mr. America - Bret or Owen Hart - Mr. Perfect singlet - Giant Gonzalez - The Gooker - LOD - Sting Or the ULTIMATE... - The Warrior

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Ummm...this 'secret attire' is gonna be of someone already in the game...(most likely Foley as has been mentioned). Just making that clear seeing as there's all these names coming from out of nowhere.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Who says the attire isn't for CAW stuff? I mean, if that WAS said... then my vote goes for Mr. America or maybe the Rockers outfit for HBK.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 but instead, they'll have access to an alternate costume that we think the fans will get a kick out of, let the speculation begin!" From the article, it says that'll be an 'alternate' costume..that meaning of someone already put in the game. Plus it's already known that some people that aren't in the game will have special attires for them in CAW mode, some of them being Austin, Lesnar, Steiner, etc.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Legend news... sorta. Again, from GamingRing.com... Question: Do legends have their real music and entrances? Mike: That would be telling Actually I cant give you any information on the legends because THQ asked me not to. I can say that I was very impressed about the quality of the legends. Hope thats vague enough for you.
