AndrewTS Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 Does anyone think this game would be decent if ported to PC? Online probably would be a hell of alot better and people could make graphic add-ons for the CAW and default wrestlers. Unlimited CAWs and imported music would be nice which seems to be a limitation of the PS2. I personally think you'd need some kind of gamepad to get the same experience, but I don't think WWE/THQ sees PC gamers as a big market for a very console-friendly game. Didn't PC get the Raw titles though? So I guess it's possible. Oh, and PS2 does have that HDD that came out and NO COMPANY IS BOTHERING TO USE IT FOR THEIR GAMES otherwise you wouldn't need a PC version for that stuff.
Use Your Illusion Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I've played one of the RAWs on PC. Very, very, very, very bad.

There is a reason for that. The new PS2, the slimline ones, DO NOT SUPPORT THE HDD. I think Sony just wants to forget about it, and MAYBE use it on the PS3

I think Sony just wants to forget about it, and MAYBE use it on the PS3 As opposed to the current installed user base of over 15 million for the regular PS2 (yeah, the slimline is selling well, but if those folks had incentives to get the HDD...)? That's not really a reason, that's just a result from the current situation. Sony has zero faith in it at this point, which is a direct result of them not supporting the damn thing at all. Compared to the HDD, the Sega CD and 32X were successful. It's, oh, slightly more successful than Nintendo's 64DD, though.
Guest bigm350 Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 So, is it worth it when you beat all the Shopzone challenges? I'm still working on it, but I read all you get is attire for Evolution, HBK, Rock, the Heat and Velocity arenas, and experience points?

Completing the challenges also lets you unlock the rest of the movesets for CAW (the ones for Hogan, Warrior, so forth I think).

Completing the challenges also lets you unlock the rest of the movesets for CAW (the ones for Hogan, Warrior, so forth I think). I ended up beating the challenges earlier and might start to get going on CAWS. This game doesn't seem to have alot of replayability value. The season has only 1-2 storylines and the challenges are done. What's left to play for?
Guest bigm350 Posted December 3, 2004 Report Posted December 3, 2004 Nothing, so rent. I bought it when it first came out. Well, I'm gonna start making CAWs and trying to shoot for some five star matches between Bret and Benoit on Legend mode.
J.B. Buzzkill Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 OK, what is this? I'm doing a 3 way cage match in season mode, and about 8 minutes in, both of my opponents are incapacitated, and when I climb and get to the top, and my wrestler does this STUPID stumble/tapdance thingy on top of the cage for about 10 seconds, which leads to me getting knocked off. I still eventually won, but WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT??? Put me on the bandwagon of those who regret buying this game.

I feel your pain, this is what made me have to try the barber challenge in challenge mode like 40 times before finally winning.
Jericholic82 Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 also, why is it that JR can call Shelton Benjamins dragon whip in this game, and never in real life?
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 anyone having frustrations on the CAW program severely lacking what it had in the last two SD's it seems very limited in their options on tights and designs on them and such, no past wrestlers stuff. kinda sad unless you can alot all those stuff.
Exslade ZX Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 Yea..they did take some stuff out of CAW. But, this years is still better. You can get the people to look even more like their real life counterparts..and even still make the parts...just now you have to use more 'design' instead of 'pattern'. Examples can be found here...some of these are damn near perfect. http://www.caws.uni.cc/

Use Your Illusion Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Apologies for those of you who may have already covered this. I had a quick skim of the thread and couldn't find it. I've noticed there is a moveset for Paul Heyman (and he is even featured in one of the screen shots for 'how to use a manager' that come up prior to matches). Is it possible to unlock him in any way? Why is his moveset there for no apparent reason? UYI

So really..the only way to actually 'be' him, is to do a match w/ manager, and make yourself the manager, but other then that, he can't be used in actual matches or anything.
starvenger Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 also, why is it that JR can call Shelton Benjamins dragon whip in this game, and never in real life? Probably a combo of Steph not in the "Gorilla" position telling him what to say and just reading lines...
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Anyone else Disappointed in the CAW program for this game? I mean you can forgive them deciding to call people lightweights when they aren't (Like Bubba Ray) But the CAW program is far more limited in the tights designs and the other stuff like that. No original Wrestler stuff as they did in the other games too. You can't recreate any wrestlers. I tried checking the games Shopzone for anything you can unlock to get all the excess stuff, like Liger's garb, Owen hart's tights Jeff Jarrett's etc etc, but To no avail. If ever there was a weakness in the game this would be the worse especially for a CAW nut likeme.

That's been in since like the first one, and I think I remember seeing it. It's not a letdown, as the final result in SDvsRAW and you can use it, is definitely better. It's just a little harder to get right, if you're not a 'great cawmaker'. Example, here's a great Jushin Liger. (Knew I remembered seeing some of his stuff there.) http://www.freehostz.com/sdcaws32/6/pics/jushinlyger.jpg Here, this site has a lot of great CAWs. http://www.caws.uni.cc/
Nighthawk Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 That's not a great Jushin Liger, but it's passable. The shirt wasn't in last game, and is still not. The tights are there, sort of, but as there's no longer a pattern for them, it limits coloration. In fact, black's probably all you'll be able to pull off. The CAW is assuredly much worse this time out, a three game low. I'll buy the game when it's a greatest hit, but I'm dissapointed, CAWs being most of the replay value for me. The create a moveset is worse this time too.
Nighthawk Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 On second thought, the Liger caw is better than I thought. It's worse than the best Liger's from the last two games, but for this game is probably the best you could do. So yeah, it is great.
Mrnoitaull Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I have a question , I have just got the game and I dont know when you to hit X when you have the chop battle against the turnbuckle can somone help me please ?
Perfxion Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 How the fuck do you beat Bret Hart in the Barber challenge? You kill him and he gets up. Yet one move on you and he is out of the cage.
Nighthawk Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 Repeatedly do Manhattan drops, because the sell allows you to grab him again, and steal his piledriver finisher.
DangerousDamon Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 I just found out that the Rear Naked Choke is the most powerful finisher in the game. Everytime my Samoa Joe CAW locks it in, someone almost always taps out, even if they fight out of it.
