Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 NO!!!!!! I don't want them in TNA. Hell, I don't even know if TNA would want them. For all the shit that Jeff Jarrett's given, he's still 5 times better than Holly and Gunn could ever hope to be.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 I dunno what's stupider. Gunn and Holly thinking they deserve a push, or WWE thinking these guys could drag something out of Mordecai and Kenzo. Word. I can't wait for them to be fired so they can quit taking space up on PPVs.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted July 2, 2004 This is what happens when you kill your tag team division. Guy's who are not over enuff to go for the world/us title can't at least even challenge for the tag titles with a thrown together team to keep them tided over. The JBL thing is another good reason too.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted July 2, 2004 This new trend of management expecting they can just throw two random guys into the ring and get good matches is disturbing. I don't have any love for Holly or Gunn but management is insane to stick them in the ring with really limited workers and then yell at Holly and Gunn for it sucking. Shouldn't it be "I couldn't care less" and "I hope the door hits you...?" Yes to the first. The second is more or less an indirect ejection of the person. You're not directly saying "Get the fuck out", but the implication is there. The actual hitting of the door means nothing. My favourite variation is "Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya."
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted July 2, 2004 Holly can go to hell though. Stiffing other wrestlers doesn't warrant a push, it warrants a firing. I'll have to disagree on the last part. It should warrant being jobbed out to everyone possible. Job him to The Brooklyn Brawler, Pat Patterson, Paul London....everyone. Then he can be fired. Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 2, 2004 I still don't undestand why a guy like Holly would care to job. He's got job security, probably making dang good money. THE MATCHES ARE FIXED. He's not really getting beat up, so what's the deal?

He's not really getting beat up, so what's the deal? He probably wanted WWE to bring Matt Cappotelli up from OVW so he could stiff him on Smackdown in front of a big audience just to look like a "badass" again. PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 Best WWE news I've heard in some time. I hope they really do leave. It's not like ANYONE would ever miss them. Those talentless morons don't know how good they have it... Seeing them fail on the indy scene will be funny as hell.

tekcop 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2004 I don't really understand why they aren't pushed as a tag team. They get pretty good pops together (although not seperatley most of the time) and they could easily pull off a "cranky old verterans" gimmick off easily. Face Holly/Gunn vs. a heel London/Moore or Bashams with a new gimmick fued could work well. The matches wouldn't be great, but it could but over the new team and actually fill up time on SD!--which it really seems to need right now.

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted July 3, 2004 If I was one of the head bookers for Smackdown and these two yuppies walked up to me and said "We aren't getting a proper push, give us more limelight or we're leaving!", I would probably buckle over in laughter. Billy Gunn, the only thing you've ever had going for you is a good dropkick and you can get height on your running splash to the corner. There's a reason you were stuck in the tag division for years, and that's because you have too many weaknesses in your craft that need to be covered up. You can't throw a punch if your life depended on it, you have no mic skills, you get injured far too easily. Smoking Gunn, Rockabilly, The Bad Ass Billy Gunn, Mr. Ass, 'The One' Billy Gunn, whatever they try to do with you fails. The only time you were a success is when Road Dogg was using his mic skills to boost you and Triple-H was rubbing off his own heat on to you. Hardcore Holly is even worse. Started off as a race car driver(supposedly he actually drove the WWF car in some NASCAR races but I don't know how true that is) and failed at that so he shaved his head and turned into Roid Rage personafied. I can't fathom why he was a trainer for Tough Enough when he can't wrestle either. Once again, here's somebody who's only thing ever has been a good dropkick. Look at his finishers over the year. Leg drop off the top rope, flying cross body, and now just lift them and slam. He's terrible. You two don't get a good push because not only are you not able to fill out the wrestling aspect of World Wrestling Entertainment but you're not ENTERTAINING. Pool your money together and open up a skidoo shop in Miami or something and stay away from the ring. You deprive actual wrestlers of being able to make a living. Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2004 Ok I think we all agree that we all want Gunn and Holly gone from the WWE. So I think if anyone goes to a show that has them on the card that person needs to bring a sign saying "leave already" or "Don't let the door hit you on the way out" .Then I'll feel even happier.. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2004 "Don't let the door hit you..." as about the door's wellbeing, not the person's. Ahhh...okay. You see, we have dogs... *points to the living room storm door with the broken handle, covered in dents and scratches* So that's what I didn't get. Thanks for the explanation. Now I just need to figure out "could care less."
Guest combat_rock Report post Posted July 3, 2004 Well whooopdeee fuckin' dooooo. I'm probably gonna get a cheap watch when I get a decade at work, these guys expect to be the biggest stars in the company. It'll kind of hurt the tag team division, since they really don't have anything else going there (unless they *gasp* pushed Akio and Sakoda or London and Kidman). Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 3, 2004 I agree that Gunn and Holly never truly brought to the table a spectacular performance in wrestling. Whenever either man won a title and defended the title, you had the sense they will be holding the title long enough to get someone else over, or perhaps they are transitional champions so feuds between longtime rivals don't get stale. I can however see how they can be frustrated to their point of view. They have both been in the company for at least 10 years and haven't enjoyed the successes of two veterans of the WWF/E in that time frame. Nothing outside of the barest of Midcard levels. And now become the PPV fodders for people Holly could have SLAPPED down in Tough enough. Well boys thats your Jobs .... To do what is best for the company and to entertain the fans. Neither one has done anything to endear themselves with the fans or the management, and the only true fame they had was in tag teams. And their partners are usually have more charisma they those two had. Maybe because Bradshaw became world champ they think its their time to shine, if one of their Barely Midcarders can become Main event world champion then Golly maybe they can too Duhhhh. maybe they can go to a second hand army suplus story and buy two pairs of jack boots (sp) And learn some fancy steppin. Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2004 But Billy Gunn has nothing to complain about. He was once psuhed as part of a very dominant tag team, was King of the Ring(over Ken Shamrock, for God's sakes), and has constantly had a spot. Holly never got any real kind of push other than against Lesnar and there he got his proper beatdown. Persoanlly, I hope they end up in IWA-MS or something and end up getting thwacked with light tube bazookas
Guest Soylent Green Is People Report post Posted July 3, 2004 The two of them even being on PPV at all is too much of a push for them. Considering that both men have been involved in no more than a handful of memorable moments combined in their entire WWE careers (and any good things they were involved with were more than half a decade ago), they should be lucky to still even have a spot on the roster. The only reason they're near anything resembling TV is due to the shitstorm of mediocrity Smackdown is in, if they're not happy leeching off the WWE then they should hit the road, and i doubt other promotions will be knocking down their doors to hire them either. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2004 Hell, they probably see Bradshaw as champ and realize they are no worse then that big piece of crap, and now they want their shot. Yet another reason JBL as World Champ was a horrible shitstain of an idea. That might turn out to be the only positive. If it means two stiffs are fired, than something good did come out of the title reign.
