KingPK Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 If they don't bring back Susan Power for the sequel, I won't be shedding any tears. I've wanted to slap her around about 5 different times already.
TheBigSwigg Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 This came way too soon, as there doesn't seem to be anyone who actually grew up in the decade. This is my main quarrel with the show. It was cool watching some of the guys play with He-Man and Transformers in the I Love the 80's shows, mostly because they actually enjoyed it. Watching them play with Tamagotchi and talk about the Power Rangers, you know that they hated it from the start.
Paul Stanley Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I want 9 hours of my life back. That was absolutely horrible, some spots funny, but horrible. Nowhere as near good as the 70s/80s.
cabbageboy Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Here's the problem: He Man was cool. Transformers were cool. Power Rangers DID suck major ass from the get go. Adding to the suckiness of Power Rangers is the fact that it was on an afternoon block with the Batman cartoon, Animaniacs, and Tiny Toons....which were all really good shows that made it all the more glaring how horrible Power Rangers was.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Wow I was thinking to myself they should call the second one "Part Deux" and they did! EDIT: I like that Jane's Addiction pointed out how silly it was to have the show so soon.
packwingfn Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 The early 90s were cool, like 90-95 mainly because that was over 10 years ago and when i was growing up, like ill admit i listened to ace of base. but the late 90s were kinda lame, its like, it wasnt that long ago. they should have just done 90-95 now and the others later or something.

cabbageboy Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I too thought that they should have just stuck to 1990-95. To be honest the very early 90s aren't much to write home about either (Vanilla Ice, Gerardo, all that other crappy stuff). Grunge should have been more in the 1992 year than 91, since after all they put Alanis on the 96 show when she was already getting known in 95. I thought they kinda shortchanged the whole mid 90s punk movement in the shows. They sorta mentioned Green Day during Woodstock, but nary a word about Offspring? Smash was my soundtrack for the Summer of 94.
Crimson G Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I want 9 hours of my life back. That was absolutely horrible, some spots funny, but horrible. Nowhere as near good as the 70s/80s. You mean ten hours right? That's why they call it a decade. Ten years.
King Kamala Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I don't think it was horrible as our resident KISS mark, but it was very meh. Not much better then a good episode of the Best Week Ever. Hopefully they do a 2nd I Love The 70's and then just take a break for about fifteen years. But I doubt that will happen. Btw, am I the only one that is pumped for Bands Reunited Season 2 and The Surreal Life 3? I am counting down the days my friend, counting down the days..
razazteca Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Bands Reunited did rule and who will be the C List stars for the Surreal Life?
King Kamala Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I heard something about Richard Hatch (Winner of the first Survivor) being one of them. He'll probably get naked in the first episode. Man his 15 minutes were up a long long time ago. I love Bands Reunited because it keeps Aamer (However the hell you spell it) off the VH1 Top 20 countdown. Man was he annoying on that.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Less Ameer and more Rachel Perry= GOOD
Exslade ZX Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Bands Reunited did rule and who will be the C List stars for the Surreal Life? I know Ryan Starrs in!!!!
nl5xsk1 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THE NEW MILLENIUM RUNS WILD ON YOU? I am really disappointed that they didn't at least mention the Monday Night Wars while they were talking about Governor Ventura. As someone that stopped watching the series, I have to ask: does that mean that they didn't even mention wrestling during the late 90's? It seems that people on this board were pretty certain that they would.
King Kamala Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 The thing I was most surprised they didn't mention was Terminator 2, as it was one of the four or five biggest movies of the decade. They mentioned SFW but not Terminator 2, what the fuck is that?

Guest The Last Free Voice Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Uh, swiggy, check you math again bro. 90 91 92 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 That's ten...
Rob E Dangerously Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 10 years

Nothing at all.
King Kamala Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 I'd put WWF and the second wrestling boom on the 2000 episode. Although you could put it on 99. At the current pace I Love The 00's will be premiering January 1. 2010 *shudders*
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Nah, it'll be "I love the early 00's" premeiring July 06.
King Kamala Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Actually, I think VH1 is smart enough to realize that the whole I Love The... series has run its course. It was too soon to do the 90s and as a result everyone found it a lot less funny. VH1 knew when to pull the plug on Behind the Music when it seemed to be lampooning itself so I have faith they'll pull the plug on the I Love The Series for at least five or six more years. Then again it did take VH1, way too long (IE Three months) to cancel VH1 ILLustrated.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 You all are crazy for thinking there would be or will be any mention of wrasslin'. If there is anything wrestling related, it and its fans will be severely mocked.
alfdogg Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 If you don't have sex with your Tamagotchi once a week, they get pissy and key your car.
