The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 I've decided to do a Smackdown! diary to see how hard it is to book the damn thing. Surely it can't be that hard. I'm going to use EWR and it's going to start on the first Smackdown after the Great American Bash. The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2004 Smackdown! Preview July 1, 2004 Tonight on Smackdown sees Rene Dupree and Rob Van Dam battle to become the number one contender for John Cena's U.S. title. Those three men were involved in a match together at the Great American Bash which saw John Cena retain his title. At the Bash Cena pinned Booker T, but the Bookerman isn't involved tonight. How will the master of the Spinaroonie react? Speaking of Cena he goes one-on-one with one half of the FBI, Johnny Stamboli in a non-title match. In another non-title match Cruiserweight champ Rey Mysterio faces off with one half of Kyo Dai, the dangerous Akio. Can both title-holders come out victorious? Plus expect John Bradshaw Layfield to have some words on his loss to Eddie Guerrero. How will the Texan react? And what will WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero have to say on the matter? Tune in to find out. All this and much more this Thursday night (8/7 CT) when UPN presents SmackDown!
Guest Holzhammer Report post Posted July 12, 2004 I'll be watching this. I want to see some good Smackdown! booking.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2004 WWE Smackdown! 1st July 2004 Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz The show kicked off with the fireworks and pyro, with Cole and Tazz welcoming us to the show. Rather than going to the ring for a match we went to the office of General Manager Kurt Angle, with his 'muscle' Luthar Reigns. Angle told Luther to go fetch Eddie Guerrero but Luthar replied that he wasn't here yet, he was having transport trouble. Angle said that Eddie better make it to the arena before the end of the show, or else. Angle then told Luthar to "go do that other thing" instead. Just as Luthar was leaving Booker T entered Angle's office. Booker was pissed that RVD and Rene Dupree were booked in a no.1 contender's match and he wasn't. Angle told Booker to stop crying about it and go do something about it - "Did I cry when I broke my neck? No, I went and won an Olympic gold medal". Booker was still pissed and left the office muttering something under his breath. Rey Mysterio vs Akio (w/Sakoda) Cole stressed that this was a non-title match. As if we didn't know that already, what exactly has Akio done in the WWE of note? But he did get in some decent offence, hitting Rey with some stinging kicks. Sakoda decided to stick his nose in and attempted to aid his partner, but it backfired and Sakoda nailed Akio. Rey capitalised and hit the West Coast Pop to pick up the win. Akio wasn't happy after the match and headed to the back on his own. Is this the end of Kyo Dai? Does anyone care? Winner: Rey Mysterio While Kyo Dai had their little tiff outside the ring Rey was still celebrating inside it. He was about to leave when a strange video began playing. It said that we should all enjoy the happiness while we have it, because soon it'll be all over. "A plague is coming...soon". We went to the back again and joined Charlie Haas in his locker room. Suddenly GM Angle was wheeled in by Luthar. Angle was angry; angry at everything, but mainly at Charlie Haas. Haas had disappointed Angle. All Haas used to care about was wrestling and making a name for himself in this business, but now he's a joke, a wrestling clown. And Angle said he was going to do something about it, so tonight Haas would be going one-on-one with Mordecai. And it was next. Charlie Haas (w/Miss Jackie) vs Mordecai Haas had to get serious this week as he took on the strange Mordecai. Mordecai displayed his aggression and power but in the end Haas' wrestling skills triumphed. After getting a nearfall Mordecai lost his concentration momentarily and Haas rolled him up for the quick-fire three-count. Winner: Charlie Haas Up next Mr ECW himself Paul Heyman came to the ring with the tag champs The Dudley Boyz. Heyman spent most of the interview putting the Duds over, saying that they were untouchable in tag division and were MONSTERS~!. In fact rather than just talk about it they were going to show it. All three men then headed to the back and got a camera to follow them. They entered a locker room, which had Shannon Moore and Spike Dudley in it. The Dudleys then proceeded to demolish both Moore and Spike, putting Moore through a table. While all that was happening Heyman was still shouting at the camera, putting them over. He finished his tirade with the three commandments: "thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not kill, and thou shalt not f*** with the Dudleys". John Cena vs Johnny Stamboli (w/Nunzio) Cena decided to do a little pre-match rap. Can you guess what he rapped about? Yes, that's right, he talked about Stamboli and Nunzio being gay. Yawn, wake me up when Cena gets interesting. The FBI are getting decent face pops, maybe they should be turned. The usual Cena match. If you've seen one then you've seen them all. He finished The Bull off with the F-U. Winner: John Cena Next Mordecai was in his locker room which was dark and had lots of candles around it. He was kneeling down and seemingly praying. He apologised, saying that he had failed, and begged for forgiveness. He said that he was no better than all the sinners, apologised, and then begged for forgiveness. Well, that was strange. I didn't realise a loss to Charlie Haas could do that to you. We then saw RVD in his locker room warming up, doing some stretching. In came Paul Heyman and the Dudleys. They told RVD that it was time, time for RVD to join them, time to "come home". RVD said no thanks and that he was quite happy by himself, he didn't need Heyman or the Dudleys. Heyman said that was fine but let RVD know that they had his back in his match. RVD said he didn't need or want them to interfere. Heyman assured RVD that neither him nor the Dudleys would interfere, but RVD would have backup. Whether he liked it or not. Heyman and the Dudleys then left, leaving RVD with a puzzled look on his face. U.S title no.1 contender Rene Dupree (w/Fifi) vs Rob Van Dam It looked as though Rene had the match won courtesy of a shot with a concealed chain, but the referee had been knocked down previously. As Rene went to check on the ref the lights went out and those crazy bongs started sounding. The Undertaker then appeared and slowly walked to the ring. He got in the ring as Dupree looked scared. Taker bypassed Rene and picked up RVD by the throat, in chokeslam position. But he suddenly changed his mind and chokeslammed Dupree instead. RVD climbed the ropes and nailed another Five Star Frog Splash. He made the cover, and the ref slowly counted the one-two-three. Winner: Rob Van Dam RVD is the number one contender to the U.S title. But what business did Taker have in the match? That was answered when Paul Heyman appeared at the entranceway, urn in hand. Taker - who was in the aisle - then dropped to one knee and saluted the urn. I guess Taker's a heel now, or maybe a tweener. After we came break from a commercial John Bradshaw Layfield was in the ring looking solemn. He looked quite upset. The general idea of what he was saying was that he had failed at Judgment Day, he had failed at the Great American Bash, and he had failed his country by not getting the title off of "that illegal immigrant". That then prompted GM Angle to come out - with Luther of course. Angle said that not only had JBL failed his country but he had failed Angle. But since America is the land of opportunity, and Angle has three I's - not two I's - he would grant JBL one more chance - his last chance - in this very ring, next week on Smackdown. And it would be inside a 15-foot steel cage. With that Angle left. . JBL complained that the match was "barbaric" but assured Angle that he would get the title off of Eddie and said that next week Eddie wouldn't be able to escape from the cage, "like he escaped from his own country into JBL's". Strangely that got a big pop. Even JBL seemed confused. But all was revealed when the camera angle changed. Eddie was standing behind JBL, title in hand. JBL turned, and Eddie clocked him with the belt, sending him down to the canvas. Cole: "Eddie prevailed tonight but will he come out on top next week when he meets John Bradshaw Layfield one-on-one for the WWE championship. And it's inside a 15-foot steel cage. Tune in to find out."
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 WWE Velocity 3rd July 2004 Commentary: Josh Matthews & Bill DeMott Billy Kidman vs Paul London The battle of the Shooting Star Press? Nice little competitive match. London seemed to have the match won when he hit a moonsault while Kidman was standing, but Kidman rolled through the pin and used the tights to get and advantage. Kidman had stolen a win, and London wasn't happy. Winner: Billy Kidman A video playing recapping the RVD/Heyman/Undertaker/U.S title situation. Funaki interviewed Billy Kidman about why he cheated to win. Kidman replied that all that is important is if you win, not how you win. Paul London then entered the fray and said that he wanted a rematch next week, or is Kidman scared because he had to cheat to beat London. Kidman accepted and said he would beat London next week, but couldn't guarantee he wouldn't cheat again. Shannon Moore vs Sakoda Sakoda wasn't with Akio. Probably due to what happened on Smackdown (go read it now folks). Anyway Moore picked up the win when he hit the Mooregasm. Winner: Shannon Moore Another video played this time concentrating on the JBL/Angle/Eddie segment from Smackdown. 15-foot steel cage, WWE title, Smackdown, next week. Billy Gunn (w/Hardcore Holly) vs Danny Basham (w/Doug Basham) As you may have guessed this was a MOTY contender. Maybe for worst match of the year. But saying that it wasn't that bad. Sure it wasn't the Dynamite Kid vs Tiger Mask but nor was it Pat Patterson vs Gerry Brisco evening gown match. Billy Gunn's still quite over. Why? Nonetheless Billy Gunn won with a Fameasser. Can you guess what happened after the match? That's right, a four-man brawl. I'm guessing there's going to be a tag match quite soon. Winner: Billy Gunn
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2004 SmackDown! preview July 8th, 2004 It all comes to a head tonight on SmackDown when Eddie Guerrero must put his title on the line against John Bradshaw Layfield. And not only that but this match is inside a steel cage. Speaking of title-holders, Tag Team title holders The Dudley Boyz (and of course Paul Heyman) have requested a no.1 contenders match to be made. Kurt Angle has granted their wish and has given The FBI, The Basham Brothers, Rikishi & Scotty, and Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly an opportunity to get a shot at the Dudley's titles next week on SmackDown! Another title-holder, Rey Mysterio, goes one-on-one with Kyo Dai member Sakoda. After defeating Sakoda's partner Akio last week on SmackDown will Rey be able to make it 2 and 0 against the Kyo Dai members? In singles action Kurt Angle has made another match, this time Charlie Haas against Kenzo Suzuki. Angle has attempted to teach Haas a lesson, will the dangerous man from Japan be the one to teach it to Haas? All this and much more this Thursday night (8/7 CT) when UPN presents SmackDown! Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted July 18, 2004 I like how you're going with this... but there's a problem. Billy Gunn, Mordecai, & Kenzo Suzuki are still on the roster I do like the Kyo Dai exposure though.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2004 I like how you're going with this... but there's a problem. Billy Gunn, Mordecai, & Kenzo Suzuki are still on the roster I do like the Kyo Dai exposure though. Sorry, didn't realise I didn't mention that I was going to be doing this from a 'realistic' perspective. And do you honestly think Vince would fire any of them. Personally I wouldn't mind Mordecai if he was working with the Seven gimmick. The only reason I would care about Gunn is if the New Age Outlaws had one final run. And Suzuki, well... Obviously the Kyo Dai exposure can be viewed as being unrealistic but I'm trying to do my own things while keeping within the realms of WWE realism. In other words, you aren't going to see AJ Styles signed and pushed to the main-events. However if the WWE does sign a worker in real life then I will sign them in the game and start featuring them. It's the same if a worker is fired, then he will get fired from my roster, whether I am pushing them or not. Like Rikishi.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2004 Should've posted this before the preview but better late than never. ------------------------------------------------------ Taken from genericprowrestlingnewssite.com: That was Mordecai's last match on Smackdown for the 'considerable future'. Vince was said to have had high hopes for him but he will be sent to OVW for further training. The rumour going around is that Angle will throw lots of different wrestlers at Charlie Haas. There is some dispute as to where the angle is headed. Some are in favour of a Haas winning streak; others want him to start a small program with someone like Mark Jindrak until Rico returns from injury. With the FBI getting face pops recently management are considering different ideas on how to turn them face. One current possibility is that they don't have an official turn but are just gradually turned. Many are unsure about the Rob Van Dam/Paul Heyman angle. They feel that a similar angle was already done not too long ago. The Undertaker is said to be not very happy. He doesn't like the way he is being used as somewhat of a 'hitman' of Paul Heyman. There's also the fact that he isn't exactly friendly with Heyman. The outcome of the JBL/Eddie title match is still undecided. While most fans - marks and smarts alike - would prefer Eddie to win some higher-uppers in the WWE are pushing for a JBL title victory.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2004 WWE Smackdown! 8th July 2004 Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz Rey Mysterio vs Sakoda Sakoda wasn't accompanied by Akio, probably due to the events of the week before. As you might have guessed Rey was quick to dispatch the Kyo Dai member, pinning him following a West Coast Pop. Winner: Rey Mysterio As Rey was celebrating Akio had made his way down to the ring. He got in the ring and had a staredown with Rey. Suddenly Akio turned and floored Sakoda with a vicious kick to the head. Tajiri would have been proud. I guess this is the break up of Kyo Dai. Rey then decided to celebrate a little more and then went to leave but another one of those videos played. It talked about slavery and someone 'taking over'. It again finished with the line "a plague is coming...soon". A pre-taped John Bradshaw Layfield vignette played. He was sitting on a desk in a room which resembled the presidents office in the White House. He assured "the American people" that he would beat Eddie Guerrero and "bring the title back home, where it belongs". Charlie Haas (w/Miss Jackie) vs Kenzo Suzuki (w/Hiroki) Another Haas match made by GM Angle as 'punishment'. I think I'll make this recap about as boring as one of Suzuki's matches. Haas scored another win following a Haastruction. I guess this is the end of Suzuki's push Winner: Charlie Haas For the second week in a row Booker T entered GM Angle's office pissed. He was pissed that he wasn't booked on the show - "This is the second time, second. One, two. One, two, three, four, five, five time, five time WCW champion and I'm not on the show sucka". Angle asked Booker if he was deaf, because last week Angle told Booker to go do something about it. But instead of doing something he went and started crying in a corner. "Go do something Booker, go do something". Tag Team title no.1 contenders Gunn & Holly vs The FBI vs The Bashams vs 2 Cool In case you haven't realised, no Brian Lawler isn't re-re-hired. It's Scotty and Rikishi and they're 2 Cool not Too Cool. This match was fought under elimination rules and was requested by Paul Heyman and the Dudleys. The winners would get a shot next week on Smackdown. 2 Cool - in Rikishi's 'big' return to the ring - were first to go courtesy of a Johnny Stamboli Forget About It on Rikishi. Funnily enough (or not) The FBI were next to go when Nunzio got hit with an Alabama Slam from Holly. Down to The Bashams and the HardAsses. And it was everyone's favourite team of veterans which got the title shot; Billy Gunn nailed Danny Basham with the Fameasser. Winners: Gunn & Holly Gunn and Holly decided to stay in the ring and celebrate a while. Bad move. They were blindsided by The Dudley Boyz, who laid a real beating on them. Gunn got hit with a 3D onto a chair and Holly got Superbombed through a table. Ouch. Next we joined RVD walking through the halls heading to the ring for his match against Chavo Guerrero. He met Paul Heyman, who said he was looking for RVD. Van Dam chastised Heyman for getting The Undertaker to interfere in his match. Heyman replied that he was only doing what's best for RVD, he wants to help RVD because he's "family". Van Dam told Heyman he was going to the ring, and warned Heyman not to interfere in his match. Rob Van Dam vs Chavo Guerrero This was probably the best match of the night, it wasn't up against any major competition but it was still good. John Cena decided to do some guest commentary. Chavo focused his attack on Van Dam's legs, to prevent him from using his kicks and high-flying offence. But Chavo failed and it was Van Dam's high-flying offence which won him the match. He nailed Chavo with a Five-Star Frog Splash following a Rolling Thunder to pick up the win. Winner: Rob Van Dam Chavo was angry after the match and 'had words' with the referee and then attacked RVD from behind. He was raining in the kicks and punches when the lights went out. When they came back on The Undertaker was standing behind Chavo. Chavo turned and was met by a chokeslam. Paul Heyman then appeared with the urn and summoned Taker. Taker headed to the back. When RVD recovered he began shouting at Heyman, but none of it was audible. A video package played highlighting the rivalry between Eddie Guerrero and JBL. It covered all that both men had done to each other over a few months and then said that it all comes to a head next when they meet in a steel cage. WWE Championship - Cage Match John Bradshaw Layfield vs Eddie Guerrero © Wasn't the longest of matches considering it was a cage match and seemingly the feud blow-off. Both men juiced in the match, although Eddie was understandably somewhat conservative with his blade-job. JBL played the coward quite well when he was on the defensive. At one point he tried to run away from Eddie up the cage but Eddie easily caught up with him and powerbombed him to the mat. Note to JBL: If you aint faster than the guy don't try and outrun him. JBL also tried to bribe the referee; "I'll give you money", he cried. But nothing worked. However he did get on the advantage and set Eddie up for a Clothesline from Hell, but Eddie ducked and JBL smacked into the cage. Eddie quickly put him down with the Three Amigos suplex combo and then climbed the ropes. He flew off, and nailed a Frog Splash. But he wasn't finished there, rather than go for the pin he hooked on the Lasso From El Passo. JBL was quick to submit. Eddie had retained his title and hopefully put an end to his feud with JBL. JBL left the ring almost as quick as he had submitted, leaving Eddie to soak up the cheers. Suddenly someone entered the ring. It was Booker T, with a chair. Eddie was on the ropes celebrating and didn't realise. Booker sneaked up behind Eddie, and smacked Eddie with the chair. Rather than fall to the canvas Eddie fell against the cage, still standing. Booker climbed the ropes and hit Eddie with a Bookend from the top rope. As the boo's rained down Booker did the Spinaroonie to spite the crowd, as the show went off the air. Cole: "My God, what impact. Booker has left the champion down, out and really hurt."
The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 WWE Velocity 10th July 2004 Commentary: Josh Matthews & Bill DeMott Billy Kidman vs Paul London A rematch made from last week. Kidman won the previous meeting by using the tights. London wasn't happy and challenged Kidman to a rematch, Kidman accepted. Another good match from the two. This time there was no Moonsault from London, he had learned his lesson. London picked Kidman up for a powerbomb but Kidman turned it into a Victory Roll, but London then rolled through and hooked the tights for the win. Kidman 1, London 1. It was Kidman's turn to be cheated. Winner: Paul London A video played highlighting the RVD/Heyman/Undertaker situation. This week Funaki interviewed Paul London on why he cheated to win. London explained that anything Kidman can do London can do better (which is actually true if you've seen both men's Shooting Star Press). London said if Kidman wanted to cheat then London can play that game. Billy Kidman then appeared and shouted insults at London for cheating. Both men got in each other's faces and started brawling. Security and road agents had to separate the men with insults still being thrown back and forth. Akio vs Shannon Moore No Sakoda accompanying Akio to the ring, if you missed Smackdown Sakoda lost to Rey and then Akio came down and killed Sakoda with a kick to the chops. Akio seemed to have developed a mean streak and really took the fight to Moore - who had defeated Sakoda last week. He utilised a lot more kicks in his offence than usual, taking a leaf out of former stable-mate Tajiri's book. Akio won the match with the Dai Time (formerly Yang Time) from the top rope. Winner: Akio A video played highlighting the Booker T/Eddie situation Orlando Jordan & Spike Dudley vs Rene Dupree & Mark Jindrak (w/Fifi & Theodore Long) There's no really point in saying much about this match. Even Stevie Wonder knew who was going to win this match. Jindrak won the match for his team with that new finisher of his, which the commentary team announced as the Mark Of Perfection (ha ha, get it). The finishers in the WWE have really gone downhill recently. Winners: Rene Dupree & Mark Jindrak

The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I always appreciate feedback but that didn't really help. I don't mean any offence but it would help if you could elaborate a bit. You know, just some simple stuff like the parts you enjoy, the parts you don't, anything that doesn't make sense or anything you think doesn't work. It always helpswhen you're writing this stuff. The C Man 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Taken from genericprowrestlingnewssite.com: Sakoda was working with an arm injury, which is why his match with Rey went very short. How long the injury will keep him out for is unknown. The current plan for Akio is to give him a solo run as a trial. If he does well he'll be kept as a singles wrestler; if not he'll be teamed up with Sakoda when he gets back from injury. Those in the know are keeping tight-lipped about the identity of the mystery wrestler who is getting the vignettes. He - it is a he - isn't said to be anyone major but is said to be getting a decent push when he debuts. Management isn't happy with the work of Kenzo Suzuki. His in-ring work isn't up to standard and he is failing to integrate with the other wrestlers backstage. They have decided to cool his push, which is the main reason he lost to Charlie Haas. Eddie Guerrero's next program will be with Booker T, which started on Smackdown after the cage match. The current plan is to have them build up a two-month feud going into Summerslam. Depending on the reaction of the fans it may be extended another month going into Unforgiven.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 WWE Smackdown! 15th July 2004 Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz Cruiserweight title no.1 contender 10 man battle royal Akio vs Kidman vs Chavo vs Funaki vs Noble vs Nunzio vs London vs Scotty vs Moore vs Spike Ten cruiserweights on one show? Wow, I'm impressed. But in all fairness it wasn't exactly a masterpiece of a match, as you might have guessed. Cruiser battle royals tend not to work spectacularly. Rey Mysterio came down to do colour commentary. Kidman and London went straight for each other and spend the entire match brawling. In a bit of a surprise Chavo was first to be eliminated, by Scotty Too Hotty. Next was Funaki, followed by Moore, then Spike, Noble, Nunzio, and Scotty. Akio was winning in the elimination stakes i.e. he had eliminated most. That left only Akio with Kidman and London - who were still brawling. However Akio got himself involved and was almost eliminated by London. But when Kidman attempted to simultaneously eliminate both, Akio held onto the ropes and London grabbed Kidman. If London was going, Kidman was going with him. That meant that Akio had become number one contender to the Cruiserweight title and engaged in a staredown with Rey, while Kidman and London were still fighting on the outside. Winner: Akio Another one of those video's then played. It said pretty much the same thing as usual except that 'he' was going to take over. "The plague is nearly here". Torrie Wilson was in makeup room when Mark Jindrak approached her. Jindrak came onto Torrie but she was having none of it. Jindrak was shocked, how could she reject the 'Reflection of Perfection'. Just as things got heated Billy Gunn appeared and helped Torrie out. Jindrak was quick to exit and Torrie thanked Gunn for saving her. Charlie Haas vs Doug Basham (w/Danny Basham) Just as the bell was about to ring GM Angle appeared on the stage. He said that the match wasn't fair so he added Danny Basham to the match, making it a handicap match. Charlie Haas vs The Bashams Cole made this match out to be the biggest of Haas' career. Why? It's only the Bashams he's facing, not as if it's the Road Warriors in their prime is it. This was a handicap tag match, the Bashams had to tag in and out. But that didn't stop Charlie Haas from winning the match. The Bashams attempted the switch-a-roo but the referee saw that it was the wrong Basham in the ring, because THEY DON'T LOOK ALIKE. This gave Haas time to recover and he picked up another win courtesy of a Haastruction. Winner: Charlie Haas Rey Mysterio was in his locker room when there was a knock at the door. Rey told the person to come in but they didn't. So Rey opened the door, and was sent flying onto the floor by what looked like a kick. Akio entered the room, looked at Rey on the floor, looked at the title, and left. The camera was outside looking into GM Angle's office where Angle was really laying into the Bashams for losing to Charlie Haas. Laying into them verbally of course. Angle said that they had one more chance. He then realised that his door was open and nodded to Luther. Luther slammed the door shut as shouting was heard coming from the office. WWE Tag Team Championship Gunn & Holly vs The Dudley Boyz © (w/Paul Heyman) Gunn and Holly were lucky to escape from the match alive. The Duds looked really aggressive and hungry. They had Gunn and Holly on the back-foot for most of the match but Gunn and Holly did mount a brief comeback. Brief because Mark Jindrak had come down to the ring. As Paul Heyman distracted the ref Jindrak took out Gunn - who was on the apron. That left the Dudleys free to double team Holly. The inevitable one-two-three followed the 3D. The Dudleys had retained their titles and celebrated with Paul Heyman after the match. Winners: The Dudley Boyz After the commercial the camera was still with Paul Heyman and The Dudleys, who were on their way to their locker room. They split up and the camera followed Heyman. He entered Rob Van Dam's locker room. Van Dam was putting his things into his bag, presumably ready to leave. Van Dam called Heyman a son of a bitch and that he told him to stay out of his business. Heyman said that wasn't what RVD said last week, last week he said stay out of his match, and that's what The Undertaker did. Heyman rambled on and on, with some sarcastic insults thrown in. Van Dam had had enough and literally threw Heyman out of his locker room. Heyman was still shouting even with the door shut. "You'll see Rob, you'll come home". Booker T came to the ring and gloated about what he did to Eddie Guerrero last week. He said Eddie wasn't here because he was 'recovering from the cage match', that's what Eddie claims, said Booker. The real reason was that he was scared to face Booker again. But before Booker could continue he was cut off by John Cena. Cena said that Booker was boring the people, they didn't come to listen to Booker the came to see Cena. "Ye they can see me, but Book, you can't see me". Cena cut a little rap about Booker. Nothing earth-shattering but it was decent compared to his recent efforts. Just as Cena got to ringside GM Angle appeared and said that if they wanted to fight so badly then he's making the match official and sent down a referee. Cena was still staring at Angle which allowed Booker to get the jump on him, starting the match. Booker T vs John Cena A decent match, considering Cena aint that great and Booker aint as great as he used to be. Mid-way through the match and Rob Van Dam decided to make an appearance. He is the U.S title no.1 contender you know. Van Dam took a chair and watched the match from ringside. Cena was distracted for the rest of the match, he was too busy taunting RVD and not focusing on the match. And in the end it cost him the match. With Booker down on the mat Cena went to the outside to confront RVD. They got in each other's faces but never came to blows, thanks in part to the referee - who had followed Cena out of the ring. As Cena was getting back in the ring Booker hit him with a low blow. The referee didn't see, he was still outside sending RVD to the back. When the referee came back into the ring all he saw has Booker nailed Cena with the scissors kick. The ref then delivered the three-count. Winner: Booker T All that had happened so quickly that Van Dam was still in the aisle. Booker decided that that wasn't enough and continued laying into Cena, which prompted RVD to enter the ring and curiously save Cena. Cena didn't take too kindly to be 'helped' and a three-way brawl kicked off. Suddenly the lights went out and the GONG~! sounded. The Undertaker made his way to the ring and turned it into a four-way brawl. Taker was brawling with Cena and RVD with Booker. Both Cena and RVD got the upper-hand in their battles and knocked their respective opponents to the outside. But before Cena and RVD could come to blows GM Angle showed up on the big screen. Angle said that he won't put up with that kind of behaviour on his show. He said if the four men want to fight then they can find next week in the ring when Booker T and The Undertaker face John Cena and Rob Van Dam. After Angle had finished all four men then decided they hadn't had enough and started brawling again as officials and road agents ran to the ring to try and separate them. UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2004 Hey just wanted to reply that I'm liking this as well. I'm starting up a diary of my own so I always enjoy reading these. It's a bit odd to see Undertaker in the middle of a feud between RVD-Booker-Cena, but I'm interested in seeing where it goes. I'm guessing Eddie will interfere somehow to start the feud with Booker T.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2004 Why is it odd? It's intertwining, one of the best ways to book. I'll explain the current 'big' feuds because you seem a little confused. RVD and The Undertaker have beef because Heyman has told Taker to 'protect' RVD in an attempt to get RVD to 'come home', in other words side with Heyman. Heyman controls Taker because he is still in possesion of the urn, after 'killing' Paul Bearer at the GAB. Cena and RVD have beef because RVD is the no.1 contender to Cena's title. It's as simple as that. Booker and Cena don't really have a rivalry as such. Cena, being the anti-authority type that he is, just decided to interupt Booker. Which was a decent set-up for a singles match between the two, which Booker won to give him some credability. At the current point a Booker/Eddie fued would seem likely, but I'm not going to discuss my future plans.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2004 WWE Velocity 24th July 2004 Commentary: Josh Matthews & Bill DeMott Hardcore Holly vs Kenzo Suzuki (w/Hiroki) Not the best of matches by any means. What exactly does the WWE see in Suzuki anyway? Sure he's a Hoss, but not a good one. Or even an above average one. Or a decent one. Or... I could go on. Anyway Holly picked up the win via the Alabama Slam. Winner: Hardcore Holly A video played recapping the main event from SmackDown, focusing on Cena and RVD. Billy Kidman vs Paul London If you're reading this then I'm presuming you've read the previous Velocity's and know why these two HATE EACH OTHER~! The match started out just as a brawl, which wasn't bad considering the two aren't world-class brawlers. The pace then quickened and the match thankfully resembled a cruiser match. After trading some high spots London went up top, but Kidman recovered and pushed him off to the outside and he crashed into the security wall. Kidman then jumped over the top rope onto London and the two continued brawling on the outside. But because of the HATE~! they have for each other they decided against returning to the ring, both getting counted out in the process. But they didn't seem to care about the match, they just wanted to brawl. Road agents and referees ran to the ring and attempted to separate them. Winner: Draw (double countout) Another video played going over the Eddie/Booker feud. In the back Kidman and London were still trying to brawl but were being restrained by the refs and road agents. GM Angle then appeared and said that he wouldn't tolerate that on his show. If they wanted to fight so badly then he would make the match for SmackDown next week, and they wouldn't be able to get counted out because it was going to be a No DQ match. The FBI vs Chavo Guerrero & Jamie Noble The Italians have been getting good pops recently so I guess they're officially faces now that they're against two heels. A really good match, especially when Nunzio was in the ring. No diss to Stamboli but the other three are all great technical wrestlers. Stamboli did however provide a good alternative with his power wrestling. The FBI won with the Kiss of Death. Winners: The FBI
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2004 Awesome diary man.. I'm really glad to see Akio getting pushed. The guy deserves it. the RVD/Taker/Cena/Heyman thing is just awesome. The storyline is so well thought out. London/Kidman feud is also coming across nicely, and now getting exposed on SD, I'm hopeing for some more exposure for the two. and finally.. Charlie Haas' storyline is amazing. Haas deserves to be pushed in real life and Im glad you can see that, and are pushing him well. Haas is an awesome wrestler, and your doing wonders with him. The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2004 the RVD/Taker/Cena/Heyman thing is just awesome. The storyline is so well thought out. It isn't bad, but definately not my best. Just wait until you see Wrestlemania. Yes, I did say Wrestlemania. That's the way I book, and the way the WWE should book, from Wrestlemania to Wrestlemania. I appreciate the feedback, thanks. The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2004 Taken from genericprowrestlingnewssite.com: The Akio push continued on Smackdown when he won the battle royal. It is scheduled to continue until he faces Rey Mysterio. Depending on the fans reaction he could win the title or his push could continue until Summerslam, where he'll face Rey again. The outcome of both matches really depends on how the fans take to him as a singles wrestler. The mystery wrestler's identity still isn't known but is expected to be revealed next week on Smackdown. If not then it will certainly be revealed before the end of the month. The video's have been playing after cruiserweight matches so would suggest it would be a another cruiser, but it could just be a ploy by the WWE to throw off the 'smart marks'. Billy Gunn and Mark Jindrak started a program on Smackdown. The current plan is to have them feuding going into Summerslam, but with it being a split show many are wondering whether the match will actually make the show. Currently the SmackDown side of the show is scheduled to be: Eddie vs Booker, Cena vs RVD, and possibly Tag and Cruiserweight title matches, which would take up all of SmackDown's allocated 4 matches. The reason Booker was put over John Cena fairly cleanly is to give him a bit of credibility before his title match with Eddie. Eddie wasn't on the show because he legitimately injured a hamstring on a house show and the cage match gave the WWE a good excuse to keep him off the show. It is unknown why John Bradshaw Layfield wasn't on the show.
The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2004 WWE Smackdown! 22nd July 2004 Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz General Manager Kurt Angle started the show in the ring. He announced that Eddie Guerrero wasn't on the show "for his own good" because Booker would kick his ass again and Kurt didn't want that on his conscience, so Kurt had banned him from the arena. However Eddie would appear on the show, Kurt granted him a live interview from Titan Towers. But right now "the wrestling clown" Charlie Haas would take on Danny and Doug Basham in a handicap match. Charlie Haas vs The Bashams Cole explained the difference between this match and the one last week was that The Bashams didn't have to take in and out, they were both allowed in the ring at the same time. Well that's what was supposed to happen anyway. Haas ran in from the crowd and smacked Danny Basham with a wicked chair shot while The Bashams were walking to the ring. You could actually feel the chair shot, it was that stiff. Most of the match was just Haas and Doug Basham, Danny was still selling the chair shot on the outside. However he did recover and went to even the score with Haas, but Haas ducked and he hit Doug. Haas quickly rolled up Danny and got another win over The Bashams. Winner: Charlie Haas Booker T was talking to Paul Heyman. Booker was worried that The Undertaker would turn on him in the tag match because they have 'history'. Heyman assured Booker that Taker would do 'the right thing'. Akio vs Funaki Rey Mysterio went to the announce table to do some guest colour commentary. Akio looked impressive in the match, utilising some stinging kicks. Funaki sold them like death. Akio picked up another win after scoring with the Dai Time. Winner: Akio Post-match Akio motioned for Rey to come into the Rey. Rey obliged but probably wished he hadn't. He flew at Akio - possibly looking for a hurricanrana - but Akio scrambled his brain-cells with a vicious kick to the head. Akio then picked up Rey's title and draped it over the champion's prone body. When Rey recovered and went to leave another video played. It said the same things it had been saying in previous weeks but this time revealed the wrestler's identity: "next week, The Blue Nova takes over". 2 Cool vs The Dudley Boyz (w/Paul Heyman) The Duds looked as if they wanted to literally kill Rikishi and Scotty - who looked more like lambs to the slaughter than genuine opponents. There was no cheating or blind tags from The Dudleys, they just demolished both opponents. It seemed as though 2 Cool's pain was about to end when Scotty was nailed with a 3D. Suddenly Shannon Moore and Spike Dudley ran to the ring. Spike clocked Heyman and then jumped into the ring. As Shannon distracted the referee Spike hit Bubba with the Dudley Drop and Rikishi knocked D-Von out of the ring. Rikishi quickly covered Bubba, and got the one-two-three. Winners: 2 Cool The Dudleys were beside themselves with rage after the match, as 2 Cool, Shannon and Spike all celebrated while heading to the back. The referee got the 3D and then got put through a table with a superbomb. More referees entered the ring, and just about all of them received the 3D. The Dudleys had made a point, no one was safe. Next was the interview with Eddie Guerrero. It was basically an in-ring promo not done in the ring, if you know what I mean. Eddie had some strong words for Booker and some even stronger words for Kurt Angle. Billy Gunn (w/Torrie) vs Rene Dupree (w/Fifi) Actually a decent enough match, believe it or not. Dupree's quite good at the arrogant gimmick and gets good heat. And he's only 19 so the guy's got a bright future, he's going to be a big star. Fifi was still black this week. Hardcore Holly was still angry this week. Gunn looked to have the match won when he hit the One and Only but he didn't have enough to make the cover. All of a sudden Mark Jindrak jumped over the security wall and nailed Holly. That distracted Gunn long enough for Dupree to nail him with a concealed chain. The referee didn't see it and counted the three-count Winner: Rene Dupree A pre-taped JBL video then played. The main point of the video was that JBL's stocks had plummeted and he was losing all his money. His reaction's were quite good: "I've lost the WWE title and now I'm losing my money, it's a damn conspiracy. I bet it's those damn Mexicans". He looked as though he was about to cry. Quite funny. John Cena and Rob Van Dam were in the back talking about their match. Cena said that if RVD stayed out of his business then he would stay out of RVD's. RVD agreed and said that tonight they were partners but come Summerslam the U.S title was going home with Rob...Van...Dam. RVD walked away as Cena made fun of him: "RVD, you can't...see...me", while doing the double thumb. John Cena & Rob Van Dam vs Booker T & The Undertaker (w/Paul Heyman) Booker and Cena started the match, with Cena getting the upper hand. Booker had had enough and tagged out to Taker. Taker and Cena then brawled a bit with Taker getting the upper hand. Cena was in his corner about to go at Taker again, when RVD tagged himself in. RVD wanted some of Taker - and the crowd wanted to see it. Taker looked at Heyman on the outside and Heyman shook his head. Taker then forcefully tagged himself out, and Booker in. Later in the match Booker and Taker had Cena wore down and he desperately needed to tag out, but refused and wanted to do it by himself. RVD was waiting on the apron ready to explode. Cena nailed Booker with a desperation F-U, but fell straight to the mat from exhaustion. He was crawling toward the corner looking for the tag, but changed his mind and tried to use the ropes to pull himself up. RVD wasn't waiting any longer and tagged himself in again, just as Booker tagged out to Taker. RVD wasn't waiting for Taker to get Heyman's blessing, he climbed the ropes and flew at Taker with a kick to the face. Taker took out the ref while he fell to the outside, leaving RVD to slug it out with Booker. He put Book down with a roundhouse and nailed the rolling thunder. But rather than go for the pin he climbed the ropes again, and flew off with the Five Star Frog Splash. But Booker moved. Now RVD and Booker were both down, as Cena was still just recovering and Taker was outside. Suddenly Eddie Guerrero ran to the ring and climbed the ropes. He then attempted to emulate Van Dam, but he was more successful and hit his Frog Splash. RVD crawled over and the ref made the slow three-count. Winners: John Cena & Rob Van Dam After the match Booker was angry and went after Eddie. The two of them brawled to the back as Taker re-entered the ring, armed with a chair. He attempted to hit RVD but was hit with a low blow which caused him to drop the chair. RVD picked it up and threw it at the Deadman, who caught it. RVD then jumped at him looking for the Van Daminator, but Taker ducked and held the chair up, and Van Dam hit Cena. Taker scurried to the outside as RVD just looked down at Cena, no emotion on his face. The final shot of the show was Cena lying on the canvas, out cold from the Van Daminator. The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 **I accidently deleted Velocity so I'll just post some simple results. It's only Velocity, not as if anyone watches** Johnny Stamboli (w/Nunzio) bt. Orlando Jordan Rene Dupree interview. He put himself over A SmackDown recap video played. It focused on Booker & Eddie Rene Dupree (w/Fifi) bt. Rikishi Another video played concentrating on Akio/Rey Rey Mysterio bt. Carlos Colon
The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Taken from genericprowrestlingnewssite.com: Management was said to be very happy with the Rey Mysterio/Carlos Colon match on Velocity. They were impressed with Colon's charisma and say that he is nearly ready to be called up to the main roster. Colon is currently in OVW with a development contract. Kenzo Suzuki's push has now officially ended. He is now being treated like anyone else on the roster. Management still like his look and feel that he can be pushed but want him to gain more experience before that time comes. So don't expect him to become the resident jobber anytime soon. Akio has been told to change his style recently by management. They want him to mix his high-flying with more kicks, similar to Tajiri but with more high-flying. He had been told to give Rey a somewhat stiff kick on SmackDown to put over how dangerous his kicks are, which is why it seemed so realistic. Rey didn't have a problem taking it and was said to be fine afterwards. The mystery wrestler's identity was finally revealed this week as The Blue Nova. For those that don't know he is a cruiserweight and has previously been in ECW and is currently in OVW with a development contract. He has been working house shows recently under his real name Mike Bucci and is expected to be a part of the cruiser division, but the specifics of his gimmick still aren't known. The Billy Gunn/Mark Jindrak program continued on SmackDown. It still isn't known if it will make the final Summerslam card. The JBL video was used to keep him on screen while he recovers from a legitimate injury he sustained at a house show. There were a few mumbles about RVD pinning Booker T in the tag match. Some feel that with Booker seemingly getting a title shot that a loss to RVD will be detrimental to his legitimacy. But the majority are not concerned because of the manner of Booker's loss, with Eddie interfering.
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Nice diary, definitely interesting stuff. I like the way you've avoided the usual technique of firing all the usual smart mark hates and replacing them with indy flavour of the month #543. The "mystery wrestler" storyline is good and I'm always glad to see an Akio push.

The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 ** I screwed up the order of the last two Velocity's without realising. Sorry. Just in case anyone was wondering why there was no Kidman/London match on the previous SmackDown. ** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WWE Smackdown! 29th July 2004 Commentary: Michael Cole & Tazz No DQ match Billy Kidman vs Paul London In case you haven't been reading Velocity (shame on you) these two men HATE EACH OTHER~! It all started when Kidman cheated to win a match between the two. In the rematch it was London who won by cheating. Both men brawled backstage after the match. Then in the cruiserweight battle royal London was eliminated, but not before taking Kidman with him. Again they brawled afterwards. Then last week on Velocity they fought to a double-countout draw because rather than getting back in the ring they wanted to fight with each other, whether it was in the ring or not. The two men were in the ring, staring at each other while waiting for the bell to ring. Suddenly The Dudley Boyz and Paul Heyman came running to the ring. Both Kidman and London received 3D's. Then Kidman was laid onto a table, and London was superbombed onto him and through the table. The match had finished before it had even started. Winner: No Contest Paul Heyman grabbed a mic and complaining about Shannon Moore and Spike Dudley costing the Duds their match with 2 Cool last week. He put the Dudleys over as MONSTERS~! for what they just did to Kidman and London and challenged Moore and Spike to come out and "get what they deserve". But it wasn't Moore or Spike that came out, it was 2 Cool. Rikishi got on the mic and said that they had just come from GM Angle's office and because they beat the Duds last week they were getting a title shot. And it was right now. (Oh, it's on!) WWE Tag Team Championship 2 Cool vs The Dudley Boyz © (w/Paul Heyman) A lot like the match from last week except that 2 Cool had a bit more offence. Not much more, just a little. The Dudleys never once looked like they were in trouble or were going to lose. But unlike last week there was no Shannon Moore or Spike Dudley to save 2 Cool. Rikishi got 3D-ed and the three-count was academic. Winners: The Dudley Boyz Eddie Guerrero was walking backstage when Angle and Luther appeared. Angle was mad at Eddie for appearing last week when Angle had banned him from the arena. Angle said that Eddie has a problem with authority, to which Edie butted in and replied that he only had a problem with Angle. Eddie told Angle that he knew what Angle was doing, and the only way Angle would get the title off of him was over "my dead Mexican body, essa". So Angle informed Eddie that he might just grant that wish next week on SmackDown when Eddie goes one-on-one with Luther Reigns. The Blue Nova vs Nunzio (w/Johnny Stamboli) Nova's debut. It looks as though The Hurricane has a bit of competition now, Nova looked to be doing the comic book gimmick. But it was the opposite of Hurricane, the super villain. That's seems to be the only difference between the two because there was quite a few comedy spots in the match. He was wearing a blue cape, a blue mask, a blue and black suit, and had blue highlights in his hair. Basically the same as The Hurricane, except blue. A good match was ended when Nova hit his signature move, the aptly-named Kryptonite Krunch. But, as all good villains will tell you, evil-doers can't win cleanly. So as he pinned Nunzio, Nova actually put Nunzio's foot on the ropes, just so he could cheat to win. He made sure the ref couldn't see it and picked up his first win in his first match. Winner: The Blue Nova After 'fooling' the referee Nova ran to the back, he didn't want to hang around after his 'cheating'. As he ran he laughed. An evil laugh, of course. When we came back from the commercial Funaki was standing outside The Blue Nova's locker room waiting to interview the debutant, who was inside the room. Suddenly there was a loud noise, and then a bang. Suddenly Nova smashed through the locker room wall. He then went to walk through the rubble and talk to Funaki, but fell over in classic Shockmaster style. He hurriedly jumped back and dusted himself off, trying to keep the embarrassment to a minimum. Funaki asked him about his debut match and he responded in a very deep, booming voice. But after a few seconds of talking it was obvious he was miming. Funaki then asked him another question and he responded, but then began stuttering again and again. The voice recording he was using wasn't working. He pulled it out from his suit and stamped on it: "Damn thing. Never buy anything from a <insert town name here>". That got a good bit of cheap heel heat. He continued talking - in his own voice this time - and said that he was here to take over World Wrestling Entertainment. "First WWE, then the world!". He attempted an evil laugh but couldn't. So he tried the recorder again, and it worked. He mimed the laugh, very badly, and attempted to enter his locker room, but the door was locked. So he went back in through the hole in the wall, and tripped up again. WWE Cruiserweight Championship Akio vs Rey Mysterio © Akio won a battle royal two weeks ago to get this shot at Rey's title. Since then he's looked impressive in the ring and has engaged in a few little skirmishes with Rey, and has gotten the better of them as of late. Last week on SmackDown Akio erased Rey's brain-cells with a vicious kick and then draped Rey's own title over his prone body. The two men started tentatively with Akio swinging at Rey with some kicks, but Rey was aware of them and was quick to move. Rey was cautious of getting close to Akio, not wanting to be on the end of any kicks so he stuck to hitting and moving. He had the advantage for a period but misjudged a top rope flying hurricanrana, and was met by a fierce kick. That changed the momentum of the match and Akio was now on top. But Rey mounted a comeback and the two entered into a fantastic series of nearfalls and reversals. Akio went for a powerbomb but YOU CAN'T POWERBOMB REY, and he turned round and Victory Rolled Akio. But Akio flipped it over and got a nearfall himself. Akio was faster to recover and he went for a Mahistrol Cradle (dunno about the spelling), but Rey shifted his body weight and was now pinning Akio. But Akio rolled through and completed the Cradle, with both of Rey's arms hooked. The ref made the count, one...two...three! Winner: Akio Rey was gracious after the match and extended his hand to the new champ. Akio however refused and simply lifted his belt up to Rey's face, to rub the win in Rey's face. Rey smiled - a wry smile - and shook his head as Akio left. A crowd was gathered in the backstage area; Charlie Haas was unconscious and blooded on the concrete floor. No one seemed to know who committed the attack. Eddie Guerrero came to the ring in his low rider, with his WWE Championship over his shoulder. He got on the mic and addressed Kurt Angle first. He reiterated what he had said earlier about Angle having to kill him to get the title from his waist. He said that he had lied, cheated, and stole to get the title and the only way Angle would get it from him would be to destroy, murder, and kill. He moved on to Luther and guaranteed he would win next week. Next on his list was Booker T. Strangely Eddie seemed worried by Booker and it appeared as though he was scared of facing the five-time champion. He called Booker out and said that he wanted to apologise to him. Booker's music played and - you guessed it - a midget then appeared, dressed like Booker. Eddie and the midget then fooled around for a bit until the real Booker T made an appearance. Booker said that Eddie better be scared because the five-time champ was soon going to become a six-time champ. "And there aint nuthin you can do bout it sucka". Eddie disagreed and invited Booker into the ring. Booker accepted and the two men brawled, with Book getting the upper-hand. He attempted the Scissors Kick, but the midget was hanging from his leg. As Booker kicked the midget off Eddie nailed him with a low blow. He headed to the top rope and nailed the Frog Splash. He then knelt on all fours and the midget climbed onto his back and nailed a Frog Splash of his own. WWE United States Championship - No DQ match The Undertaker (w/Paul Heyman) vs John Cena © Cole informed the people that didn't know that Angle had made this a title match because Cena hadn't defended his title this month, and WWE rules state that a title must be defended at least once a month (what happened to 30 days? Is this a new brand-split rule?). A pretty decent match. Cena got in a surprising amount of offence considering Taker is now in his no-sell zombie gimmick. Cena attempted the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Taker SAT UP~! So Cena kicked him back down and finished the move. Taker went for the Chokeslam, but Cena hit him with a low blow and ran off the ropes, but Taker Chokeslammed him back down. Both men were now down; Cena from the Chokeslam and Taker from the low blow. This then prompted Rob Van Dam to run down to the ring and, as it was a No DQ match the ref couldn't do anything, entered the ring with both men lying on the ground. And in a scene like one from the Invasion angle Van Dam had a choice of who he would hit; his possible Summerslam opponent Cena, or the man that has been interfering in his matches (and possible Summerslam opponent) The Undertaker. Van Dam leapt off, and nailed Taker with the Five Star. Cena crawled over and made the pin. One...two...three! Winner: John Cena Cena was angry after the match with RVD, he didn't want his help. Cena and RVD then got into a brawl, which Taker soon joined. Paul Heyman motioned for someone and The Dudley Boyz came sprinting to the ring. They attacked Cena as RVD and Taker brawled. Cena got 3D-ed, onto a chair which Heyman had placed into the ring. Taker then joined The Dudleys on one side of the ring and RVD was on the other side, three against one. Suddenly Taker got kicked in the midsection, was hoisted up, and brought back down with the 3D. The Duds pulled Taker into the centre of the ring as RVD headed up top. Five Star Frog Splash. But that wasn't enough. Van Dam shouted something to Heyman and Heyman got a chair as the Dudleys dragged Taker to the corner, in Stinkface position. RVD headed up top again and, as Heyman held the chair up to Taker's face, leapt from one side of the ring to the other, dropkicking the chair into Taker's face. The move known as the Van Terminator. Heyman - urn in hand - then entered the ring and proceeded to stamp on the urn, flattening it. All three men then embraced and joined hands in classic stable-formation style. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 I believe you are doing intelligent booking that builds on itself and gives exposure. There are some bad decisions (a four way tag with the BASHAMS? 2 COOL? HARDCORE AND GUNN?!?!?) But it's not your fault that Smackdown! has some uninteresting talent. Keep it up and eventually try to phase out the talent you know isn't interesting. Keep in mind, Velocity is SINKING in ratings, and this diary would rock if you could find a way to put top tier talent in both shows, without the main Smackdown! show suffering from their absence...and at the same time, the stars not being overexposed. Hint: (farm system..."Gut Check"...etc. for Velocity?) Keep it up, "decent" work so far only because it's good booking with lousy talent. Not your fault, though. The C Man 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 I believe you are doing intelligent booking that builds on itself and gives exposure. Why thank you kind sir. There are some bad decisions (a four way tag with the BASHAMS? 2 COOL? HARDCORE AND GUNN?!?!?) But it's not your fault that Smackdown! has some uninteresting talent. Keep it up and eventually try to phase out the talent you know isn't interesting. Why exactly is it a bad decision? I have very few teams on the roster - in fact I have a very thin roster - that that four-way tag was virtually my full tag roster. SmackDown has uninteresting talent because they aren't booked to be interesting. When was the last time Scotty or Rikishi did something even remotely interesting? When was the only time the Bashams did something interesting. It isn't the workers fault. Keep in mind, Velocity is SINKING in ratings, and this diary would rock if you could find a way to put top tier talent in both shows, without the main Smackdown! show suffering from their absence...and at the same time, the stars not being overexposed. Hint: (farm system..."Gut Check"...etc. for Velocity?) My diary is a 'realistic' one. That means that Velocity is taped before SmackDown, which seriously depletes my Velocity roster. Occasionally higher-card talent will appear - mainly in squashes - but I doubt any top-tier talent will, except to promote something e.g. new time-slot. I will build Velocity up - gradually - but it will always remain the 'B' show. It's purpose is to showcase the lesser-used talents and build up Velocity storylines which will make it to SmackDown if good enough, see Billy Kidman & Paul London. By 'Gut Check' I guess you're implying the TNA concept. It's a decent idea but wouldn't work in the WWE, where win-loss records are insignificant. I don't really know what you mean by 'farm system'. I'd like you to explain if you could. And bear in mind this is a WWE diary. Keep it up, "decent" work so far only because it's good booking with lousy talent. Not your fault, though. Maybe I didn't make it clear in earlier posts but this is a 'realistic' WWE diary. By realistic I mean no mass firings or hirings of indy-flavour-of-the-month # 25. However it doesn't mean that I have to use workers how the WWE would use them. But that doesn't mean that you'll see someone like Akio winning the WWE title. If I push someone to the main-event they are someone I feel is good enough to be there, but could also realistically main-event in the WWE. **EDIT** And the Bulldogs are much > than the Steiners
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I liked the last show, great turn at the end(I was thinking of actually putting RVD in a stable with Heyman in my diary too). Nice ECW-esque combo there and I wonder if there will be more members. It will be interesting to see what happens now with UT as well. Now that the urn is gone you'd think he would be, but we all know from watching WWE TV through the years thats not the case I think you should put the star ratings on matches, it adds to it to know what level of match it was.
