UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 "to the F13 version." Uhh.... So you want two movies per disk, barebones? Pass.
BlackFlagg Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I mean something similar to the F13 version. The boxed set that's out now is just all of the single DVD's grouped together. That is, unless there's been another release that I've not been made aware of... That's what a box set is, individual items put together in a box...hence the name. What the heck else do ya want? As for like the F13 version, the only difference between the F13 and Nightmare sets is they were to cheap to give each of the Friday movies it's own disc, it's the same individual releases<only two movies squashed onto each disc for F13>. So, yeah...what exactly would a "proper" release entail?
dubq Posted August 8, 2006 Report Posted August 8, 2006 I mean something similar to the F13 version. The boxed set that's out now is just all of the single DVD's grouped together. Something a little more compact.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I totally forgot Johnny Depp was in the original NOES, wow. He went out like a motherfucker too!
dubq Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Yeah, I think it was his first role in a feature film actually.
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 That scene was fucking awesome. One of my favorite death scenes ever, and the insane amount of blood was great.
10 Pounds Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Amazon lists a 2-disc edition of the original NOES. I don't know what are the extras. No re-releases of the other movies though. Anyway, the boxset is good enough and had dropped in price, so it's not that expensive now.
The Amazing Rando Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 Yes, NOES was Johnny Depp's first film role. He also appeared in "Freddy's Dead" on a television. Apparently he was listed in the credits as "Oprah Noodlemantra" according to the IMDB.
The Amazing Rando Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 No Joke.... http://movies.go.com/filmography/film?person_id=341643. Mr. Noodlemantra is listed on several movie sites.
NoCalMike Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 It's weird because they don't list any of the extras on the 2-disc set for the original NOES. I already have the box set, but I would probably double-dip for the original NOES if the extras are good, all the sequels I am perfectly happy with as just being part of the Nightmare Boxset.
Boner Kawanger Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I saw an ad for the new NOES DVD in the upcoming releases catalogue we got at the Blockbuster I worked at over the summer. The only listed extras were those that were on the original DVD, so I'm thinking they got some of the stuff off the original laser disc and added a new retrospective or something.

Lil' Bitch Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 IIRC Robert Englund wasn't able to do commentary for the last NoES DVD, so it looks like I'll be picking this up. Also, I heard the deleted scenes will be in there along with Tina's (?) death being restored (its edited / altered in the current final cut).
FroGG_NeaL Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 That sounds like an ill ass DVD. I'd pick that up if it had half that shit on it. Damn, I want that now.
Damaramu Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Did anyone think it was annoying or just plain stupid that they tried to explain Freddy with the demons? That annoys me because they did the same thing in Jason trying to explain him with demons and shit. Why can't they just be evil with something supernatural happening to them?
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Before "Beerfest" there was a preview for a 2-night NOES showing at select theatres, Sept. 21-22 I believe. They hyped a special video package with "Freddy's Best Kills" to be aired with the film.
