Ced 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Today I was playing NCAA Football with my brother and while we're playing he happens to look at the back of my head and says to me "Hey, is that a grey hair?" I figure to myself, "Nah must be the lighting" since the lamp is right behind us. He insists it is and after a little arguing, I agree to allow him to pluck it out. So he yanks it out and, lo and behold, I have a white strand of hair staring back at me. It's definitely mine since I felt the hair being pulled and it's definitely not my normal hair color which is jet black. Then he tells me there's a few more on the back of my head, which isn't comforting at all. I'm thinking it's stress related but I'm naturally stunned at the fact that I've got a few grays on the back of my head.

Now, a friend of mine, who's a year younger than me have lotsa grey hairs on the back of his head. Just out of control.

Jorge Gorgeous 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I've had some grey hairs mixed in with the rest of the black ones since I was in Middle School or so, the number hasn't ever really grown, I don't think its that big of a deal. I think they're just a little more noticable because of the contrast with the black hair.
the max 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 My hair line is receding and I pull out more than an average amount of hair with my comb and I'm only 21.
Guest Fook Report post Posted July 22, 2004 At least your hair stays in long enough for you to see it turn grey.
Guest Soylent Green Is People Report post Posted July 22, 2004 When i was 17 or so i had a ton of grey hairs popping up, although i don't find as many these days i'd say i'm well on the way to ending up with a head full of grey. Better than no hair at all i suppose though.
TSA09 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I have a few and I'm 22. My great grandma greyed at 35, my grandmas did at 40 and my dad did at 35. It's in my genes.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I have like a dozen gray hairs. They're in the most random places, too. But yeah, at least I haven't been losing hair. Gray hair can pass off as "distinguished" or whatever, while going bald lacks that certain romanticisim.
Guest Joshua A. Norton Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Maybe it's premature grey like Steve Martin.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Balding is a lot worse than grey hairs... At least when you're young, you know that almost everyone goes grey in due time, but you'll never know if you got saddled with bad hair genes until it hits you... Shaving my head was the best thing that could happen to me though as it got rid of the typical paranoia that comes with MPB. The only problem is not everyone can carry a shaved head look (see: most skinny guys) What has been interesting to me in the time since the discovery of my own genetic luck is that I've been noting the genetic crap shoot of life in my ex-classmates that I see around campus. Some still have the same hairline they did at graduation, while others already have smooth scalp. Funny how that works out
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Better gray hairs than no hairs.. Yeah. Going irrevocably bald at 18 is much worse than having 1 little grey hair.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Why can't skinny guys "carry" bald heads. Does that apply to men of average build, too ?
TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Yeah, I've been grey since I was about 16. It's still annoying as hell when people bring it up, though.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Here's food for thought Which would you rather have: A full head of grey hair or all your natural-born color but smooth on top? I think the answer would be fairly obvious
Slayer 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 Why can't skinny guys "carry" bald heads. Does that apply to men of average build, too ? It seems like a lot of skinny/small guys I see with shaved heads just look horrible Some guys can pull the look off (Vin Diesel), but others don't look that good (Joe Satriani)
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 22, 2004 All gray, obviously. I might hijack this thread here, because I'm at a crossroads in my life. Very seriously now.. Should I get it cut? If so, how? Bald is not an option under any circumstances.

geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I shave my head every summer, its weird going from full head of hair to none at all. Some girls like it, some do not. But, if people do not like it fuck them, it is my head. I do not understand why people get so upset over going bald, it is just hair. Once you shave your head it is so much easier to take care of, after you get used to shaving it. After I graduate from college, I am planning on moving to Florida, since it is warm year round I will probably just keep my head shaved.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I am 28 and I'd estimate I have anywhere between 15-30 scattered about. They are really thin and you kind of have to look for them. Doesn't matter. About once a month I pluck out the ones I can see. And no, I'm not gay.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I'm 24 and have started to find a grey hair here and there, but it doesn't bother me at all. My God, we've been at TSM for so long that we've went from talking about video games and toys to having grey hair.
Ced 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 I'm going to be turning 23 shortly. My family has found about 8 greys, mainly in the back of the head. They've probably been there for awhile, but my normal haircut is so short around the sides that they're hard to spot. At least my dad's Balding Birdnest of Death has yet to rear its ugly head on my scalp. Still not as bad as my cousin, who's only 28 or 29 with very blatant grey hairs scattered about his head. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2004 No greys, but I'm doomed to go bald (thanks father and both grandfathers). My hairline has been really high since I grew hair in the first place though, so the baldness already has a head start when it decides to start the invasion.
