Guest DonWestMark03 Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I have always hated Wings and Coach for the sole fact that the shows never had any action in the settings they were in. In other words, Coach never had any football game scenes and Wings barely showed the pilots actually flying a plane. Anyone peeved over this like I am?
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I wouldn't even let those shitty ass shows share one of my ntus to suck on. They were atrocious. Disgusting atrocities.
Jobber of the Week Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Wings was a bad show made worse by the fact that it was hyped up with "FROM THE PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT YOU CHEERS!" Eventually, someone realized it wasn't what everyone was expecting and Frasier was made, and all was well. Coach wasn't that bad for the first couple seasons. Lived longer than it was supposed to, though.
Scroby Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I liked Coach till they jumped the shark and Haggan got moved to FL. thats when the show started to suck.
Guest Staravenger Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I could NEVER get into Coach, no matter how much I watch. Wings is OK, but definitely not on my top 20 shows list.
the max Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I liked Wings, but hated Coach. Nick at Nite only has Wings on at like, 4 in the morning. I wish they'd move it to a better time.
Youth N Asia Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Coach was ok for a while. And there's an episode where Dauber does something that his girlfriend wasn't going to like so he asks coach if he should tell her... "No! Bury it Dauber! Bury it deep! Bury it deep and bury the shovel!" that line killed me when I first heard it.
Crimson G Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I have always hated Wings and Coach for the sole fact that the shows never had any action in the settings they were in. They are situational comedy. The situation for both these series revolves around certain jobs that characters have. Also, Wings was watchable until Lowell left the show. Coach was meh.
Slayer Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Did I wake up and it's 1991 again? ...so, you think we can get it done in Iraq?
Special K Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Who woulda known that the FUCKING MAN Tony Shalhoub would've come out of that pieca shit show Wings?
Drury37 Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I actually like and have probably seen almost every episode of both shows. I thought Wings was funny especially Antonio never gave him enough credit but I thought he was hilarious. I liked the idea of Coach and I also thought that was funny especially the episode where Coach had like teeth taken out and he couldn't coach the game so his wife coached it from the telephone with him yelling in the background to her and they eventually end up winning the game on some insane play at the end. I personally liked both shows but maybe that is just me. Thanks.
Guest Staravenger Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Who woulda known that the FUCKING MAN Tony Shalhoub would've come out of that pieca shit show Wings? Definitely not me. He seemed to be one of the least needed characters who rarely was the center of attention. Plus that accent was quite annoying. I'm glad he just stutters and stumbles over words in fear on Monk.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I kinda liked Coach oddly enough, but thats mostly because Craig T. Nelson's delivery was so over the top and angry. I remember that "bury the shovel" line and his delivery makes it pretty funny. Wings was just awful though and I'm glad it was the Simpsons and The Critic's punching bag there for awhile.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I honestly loved Wings and liked Coach(although, the beginning episodes of Wings were pretty bad)... I love watching the old reruns.
Mecha Mummy Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 I enjoyed Wings. Not entirely certain why, but I did. Tony Shalhoub was good in it. I mean, it's definitely not a show I'm going to go out of my way to see, but I liked it. Coach, though, I never particularly enjoyed.
WrestlingDeacon Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 What the hell are you talking about with Wings. They were shown on the plane all the fucking time. I remember entire episode that took place almost entirely on the plane. Like there was a Christmas show where Joe was flying people places and they got stuck in bad weather and an episode where they flew that annoying old guy to find his brother. Thing is, that's a small plane. You can't do a lot on that plane. Think about it, Frasier is a radio talk show host, but how many episodes take place mostly at the station he works at? Coach was a different matter. They didn't have the production values to stage football games. I remember them using doctored stock footage and I've seen Hayden trolling the sidelines.
Guest tangerine Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 Wings wasn't much but I always enjoyed Coach mainly because of Coach Luther Van Dam. The show went down the shitter when Hayden got up and everyone came with him to the NFL expansion team. Although the Draft episode was quite entertaining.
