B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 114. "Nevermind" by Nirvana THANK YOU METAL FANS!!!!! I figured for sure that Nevermind would be in the top 5 or top 10, and to see it not even crack the top 100 brings me great joy. I bow to this book.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Once this list is completed, I'm actually going to use it as a reference in order to go through every album on the list starting at #1.

"Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" by Emperor I am ever so pleasantly suprised at these placements. Anthems... nearly cracking the top 100 makes my heart smile broardly. Placebo effect, check that one out first because it's the true number one album of all time. If I end up seeing Transylvanian Hunger or one of that ilk in the top 100 I'm going to die. At least "we" are getting much better representation in one of these lists than I remember ever seeing.

Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Korn, Slipknot, Pantera and Ratt should never ever be ahead of Faith No More in any list ever. Although, overall, the list has been respectable.

ZGangsta 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I expected to see "1984" and "Houses of the Holy" much higher on the list and am pretty surprised that "Whitesnake" got a higher placement then those two.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Random as hell. Seconded in spades. Were one to just make a list of albums, and forget the numbers, sure, it's a pretty comprehensive cross section of metal and hard rock..but these placements..ughhhhhh. What's their criteria? None of this is mentioned here.
caboose 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I get the feeling that the list has been put together and the author has forgotten certain albums, and then remembered them after starting the list or put in others to appeal to younger metal/rock fans.

AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Just wanted to remind everyone that these albums were voted on BY THE FANS. There tends to be a lot of randomness on lists like these when people themselves vote for them, as opposed to just some guy making a list.

AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 The author put it together, polled like a few thousand fans and artists and put the list together based on their votes.
