TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Kind of reminds me of the Ross paintings.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Sakura said a while back that his ears need to be longer, I agree. However, the costume design as a whole is really awesome. Thumbs up. UYI
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I love the pose the most I think, just very cool. I'd also agree about the longer ears but that's being nit-picky with such a cool looking figure.
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Bale scares the hell out of me in that suit. Sweet suit nevertheless.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 28, 2004 The cape appears to be held in place by the two triangular protrusions at the base of the cowl. Also, the cowl seems to be independant of the rest of the torso costume. This is probobly to increase neck articulation and movement range. Also notice the gloves covering the hands are seperate from the gauntlets covering the forearms.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I want to see Bateman hold a chainsaw...just once.
bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Holy crap, Batman can actually...... LOOK TO THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT! And he can actually, like... move like a human being. And squat/shit in the bushes in that costume. Overall it looks great, but the cowl looks kinda funky and puffy around the side of the head and ears, at least in the front-view. Guest JMA Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Wow, that costume looks great. It looks both durable AND lightweight. It's almost like a modernized version of the Year One costume.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 That looks tremendous. My only problem is with the Bat-emblem itself. In the film pics we've seen and here it blends into the rest of the costume a little too much for me. I think that Bat needs to be clearly visible. It's just kind of a super hero thing for me. But otherwise it looks great. I could see that thing scaring the heck out of some crooks.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Wow, that costume looks great. It looks both durable AND lightweight. It's almost like a modernized version of the Year One costume. I don't see Year One. I like it, but I think it still owes a ton to Burton's costume... mixed with some kind of Sam Fisher spy suit. But if you notice... it's not the YO belt with pouches. This belt is from the Silver Age with the high tech capsules. I like that, the belts before didn't really have ANYTHING on them.
Guest cellardoor Report post Posted July 28, 2004 So far, so good. I was kinda worried when I heard about the new Batman film. It was -supposed- to be directed by Darren Aronofsky at first, but now Christopher Nolan's directing it. Should be rad. Bale will make for an interesting Batman... I can only remember him for his role in American Psycho. Either way, I'm stoked!
Guest EQ Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I guess I'm the only one that doesn't care for the suit. Can't put my finger on why though
dubq 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 What ever happened to all that stuff about "no molded muscles" and whatnot? Those look like molded abs to me...
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I guess I'm the only one that doesn't care for the suit. Can't put my finger on why though No, you're not alone. It looks too modern to have the "Year One" feel. If this were the suit in the third movie, OK, but not for the first. I never cared for any of the suits in the original movies (the first was probably the least offensive), and this reminds me of those.
Guest SpiderFan Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I like the suit. Glad the actor can actually move in it this time, too. Overall, I have high hopes for this movie.

I would have to agree. The Emblem should stand out stronger. Otherwise, I think it's ok. I would have to go with Dr. Tom saying it's not as good for YO, but I like it anyway. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I wonder what the product would look like if they went the comics explanation route and made the thing out of Kevlar? Might we get something alot closer to the comic version in visual style that still doesn't look like a sweater and some tights?
Guest Leon Report post Posted July 28, 2004 The suit looks too plain and basically sucks compared to the one in Batman and Batman Returns. I seriously doubt it will even come close to Tim Burton's vision.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I'm not sure owning up to Burton's vision is the point. By the way this is shaping up, I'm starting to really think Nolan's vision will be closer to the core of the character than Burton was. Which is saying something. {''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 It looks too modern to have the "Year One" feel. If this were the suit in the third movie, OK, but not for the first. If they made it less fine tuned, you know people would bitch about the suit looking like it was homemade, even if that's the point. Seems like they may have just tried to avoid that a little bit. Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 Teaser trailer! My God, this is going to be awesome! I never doubted Nolan for a second on any of this, but I think it's going to end up being even better than I predicted.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 I was going to start a thread just for the trailer, but eh, whatever. Maybe a mod could change the topic of this thread to saying that this thread also includes the teaser trailer?
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted July 28, 2004 If the entire movie keeps that feeling of intensity and can be that flat out beautiful in terms of visual consistency, then I may never have to watch Burton-Bat again. That trailer is like a darker version of the Animated Series brought to life.
