JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Please credit Alan J. Wojcik of http://alanwojcik.com if posted, thank you. TNA Impact dark matches for July 29, 2004 Match One, refereed by Billy “the Kid” Dalton: former NWA FL Heavyweight champion Bruce Steele vs. Dallas. Dallas returned to the ring as the suspension of Kid Kash ended this past week. Steele showed how good he is with wrestlers his own size. Dallas finished Steele off with a boot to the chest/face. The crowd was receptive to Dallas. Jeremy Borash continued the “feud” between Nashville and Orlando throughout the event. Borash called the Nashville crowd rednecks, but said to the crowd “You’re words, not mine.” Fans were handed comment cards to fill out and their names were drawn at random for prizes after the event. Match Two, refereed by Billy “the Kid” Dalton: Elite Guard members Chad Collyer & Hotstuff Hernandez (w/Onyx) vs. former NWA World Tag Team champions America’s Most Wanted. This is the third week in a row the fans have seen a PPV caliber match. Harris hit the Cataonic but the pin got broken up by Onyx. AMW wins after hitting Hernandez with a double team shoulder tackle. TNA Impact matches to Fox Sports Net on Friday July 30, 2004 Match Three, refereed by Mike Posey: the Elite Guard came to the ringside area as former IPW World Heavyweight champion Lex Lovett took on NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett. Almost a repeat of last week’s match against Shark Boy. Not too sure if Jarrett is sending a message to Jeff Hardy or Monty Brown. Jarrett won by hitting the Stroke. Jarrett mouthed to the camera something to Jeff Hardy. Match Four, refereed by Rudy Charles: Notorious K.I.D. Kid Kash (w/Dallas) vs. NWA FL star “Straight Up” Mikey Batts. At one point Batts went to hit Kash with a plancha but was caught by Dallas. Rudy told Dallas to put Batts down and he dropped him face first on the floor. Dusty Rhodes and Vince Russo did something over by the Spanish announcer’s table. Kash hit that painful looking straight jacket piledriver (??) for the win. Match Five, refereed by Mike Posey: Raven (wearing the Sheik’s clothes) vs. former IPW World champion “the Miami Pound Machine” Rod Steel. This went into the crowd like you would expect from a Raven match. Not a long bout that was ended by the Evenflow DDT. Sabu came to the ring and mixed it up with his opponent on the upcoming TNA PPV. Match Six, refereed by Rudy Charles: Team Canada members Petey Williams and bobby Roode (w/Scott D’amore ) vs. NWA World Jr. Heavyweight champion Mr. 630 Jerrelle Clark and Scotty Hotshot (called Mark Laurnoff by Borash.) The fans despise team Canada who beat on Laurnoff for several minutes until Clark got in and hit the 630 but was hit by Williams and the Canadian Destroyer. After the bell D’amore whipped both men as Russo and Rhodes argued at ringside. Match Seven, refereed by Mike Posey: Jeff Hardy vs. Kid Romeo, sorry Romeo. Several areas of the crowd chanted Hardy sucks during the match but they were drowned out by the screams of ladies in attendance. Hardy wins by hitting the Swanton bomb. Jeff Hammond hosted the Six Points of Impact with the “Alpha Male” Monty Brown. Don West and Mike Tenay did their standup talking about the upcoming matches on the TNA PPV from Nashville. I think my friend Kyle of UF got on TV during this segment. Shane Douglas interviewed Vince Russo about the misunderstanding between himself and Dusty Rhodes. Mr. Russo said he would address several issues on the TNA PPV including the dual X Division champions. Dusty Rhodes got into Russo’s face one more time Match Eight, refereed by Rudy Charles: X Division champions (don’t ask) Frankie “the Future” Kazarian & Michael Shane (w/Traci Brooks) vs. former NWA World tag team champions XXX (“Primetime” Elix Skipper & “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels.) Shane and Kazarian wore matching neon green tights. Daniels hit Kazarian with a huricurana followed by Skipper’s middle of the top rope leg drop. All seemed over for XXX until AJ Styles ran out and interfered causing I am guessing a no-contest. He was followed by Kid Kash, Team Canada and AMW. The theme music and promos for the upcoming PPV played as the action continued so I’m not sure how much of the fight aired. AMW, XXX and AJ Styles held the ring after all was said and done. Michael Shane led a charge back into the ring but they got ran off again as Kazarian was hit by Harris’ Catatonic. AMW, XXX and styles chased the heels all the way up their ramp way. The fans gave a huge ovation to the after show action.

Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Has Impact become Jakked? What's with all the jobber matches all of a sudden?
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 "TNA Impact! is going to focus on the X-Division." I see two of the seven matches are X-Division. And they involved the same people that are ALWAYS in the token X-Division matches: Styles, XXX, Team Canada, Kazarian, and Shane. Half of the roster is/was X-Division. What happened? Looks like a skipper this week...again.
Guest Nelly's Bandaid Report post Posted July 30, 2004 6 matches in a 1 hour show? Gonna be interesting to see that happen.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I see a lot of jobber matches. Which pissed me off immensely last week. Learn your fucking lesson, TNA. I've been watching this show for all of maybe three consistent weeks now, and if they don't cut this shit out in the next two weeks, I'm not going to even bother anymore. I didn't wait two years for them to get a TV deal only to see fucking two minute jobber squashes.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I didn't wait two years for them to get a TV deal only to see fucking two minute jobber squashes. Then order the pay per views. Seriously..the goal of their TV show isn't to give you great, free matches. Maybe people'll like the show much better when they realize that. And you're still getting some of the top guys facing..such as XXX vs...well anyone, but Kazarian and Shane..and while not the best, they're top players in TNA. So really, dont complain that the free show isn't as good as the pay show that's just...not right.

If they want the TV show to attract fans to the PPV --- good matches might be in their best interest. -=Mike
Vyce 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Exactly, Mike. This show is their BEST opportunity to promote the product, but it's just not getting done with this shit. Hell, Velocity actually looks to have a MUCH better lineup this week than does Impact - and quite frankly, after reading the Velocity spoilers, I've already decided that that program isn't worth my time this weekend. I didn't think I'd ever really say this, but on the subject of TNA I'm closer than I've ever been to crossing over and joining you on the dark side, Mike. Well, I'll say this --- I have yet to DL this week's PPV --- but I will be STUNNED if it is nearly as good as either RAW or SD. TNA is suffering from WCW's syndrome --- when the ME structure is exceptionally predictable, the company can't do well. -=Mike
Magus 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 God, the X Division is fucking WEAK nowadays. what happened to the obligatory X Division 6-man tag matches? they've got the guys to do it. i'd rather watch that than a bunch of squash matches. Impact is looking more and more like Velocity every week.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Mike where are you downloading TNA PPV's from? I might need to check that out. I find them at various bitTorrent sites. I normally have a friend who sends me a link to the first one he finds. -=Mike
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Well, another week I'll skip. I am not an NWA-Fl fan. This show is really starting to suck.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 30, 2004 After I read the spoilers this week I could only think of one thing.... FUCKING PATHETIC What the hell are the doing lately? I mean, I gave the product a hundred different chances after I thought they were horrible.....but this shit is getting rediculous. I'll still DVR it this week.....but soon.....I might not even be willing to do that anymore.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Impact is their only real chance to get new buyers for their PPV, and this is what they showcase? And to think, I was so happy with this show only a few weeks ago. It's like they totally changed their philosophy, and started booking Impact as their C-show, when they don't even have a B-show, and 8,000 viewers per week for their A-show. Stupid, stupid people. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Vyce, Mike isn't the only one on the "dark side." It took me a lot longer than it took Mike, but I'm there too. And I think the fact that I have little hope for TNA shows how bad of a state the company is in, considering I was with WCW until the bitter end (because at least they still put on a few really good matches each week). Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 30, 2004 As most of you probably have realized that I have been more "dark side" as of late and I am wondering if I'll ever go back. It will take a hell of a lot to get me excited for their shows than ever before....and basically I am ready to give up on them more now than ever before. Even if they start announcing matches that I would normally be psyched for..........I have little faith in them that it would be booked correctly. They really are testing my nerves lately nonetheless......
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Hello, my name is WMD, and I have also been dabbling on the dark side. I'm different though. I would completely go back to them in a heart beat. One good show, and I'll be all Renee Zelweiger in Jerry Maguire - "You had me at hello." Seriously, I'd love nothing more than to be a TNA mark, but they are making that impossible lately...and I loved WCW all the way up to the final NITRO. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 30, 2004 For the record. I stayed with WCW the whole time too. Unfortunately.....that was better TV than what TNA is giving us lately.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted July 30, 2004 My God. A bunch of WCW marks calling a wrestling show bad. This show must reall be pathetic.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Also, let it be known that I found WCW at the end to be EXTREMELY humurous as well....that's why I watched it.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 My God. A bunch of WCW marks calling a wrestling show bad. This show must reall be pathetic. Lmao But one thing I like...is how they're naming shows now. It's kind of...odd I guess but cool. This week's show is "A night of Revenge" sort of like the "Six Sides of STeel" and evidently from now on they're gonna be naming every show. EDIt- Batts/Kash was good, with a 'cringeworthy' finish. . He hit the Moneymaker, and it looked pretty nasty but the good kind. To much focus on Dusty/Russo at the end though...i really don't want to see a feud between them.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Ok, Jarell Clark needs to become a TNA mainstay. He'd fit in perfect with the 'old Xdivision' he has one hell of a moveset. And I saw the 630 for the first time today..that is awesome. As well as the taking of the Canadian Destroyer, which we all know by now is bad ass. And Go, Team Canada! razazteca 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 If its 6 matches in an hour than they must be very short matches prolly less than 5 minutes a piece.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Has Impact become Jakked? What's with all the jobber matches all of a sudden? Its WCW World Wide! The only thing missing is Dusty Rhodes and Larry Zybrisko as the regular announcers! Mike Tenay can stay to make the 3 man announcer booth. No love for the traditional classic indy show? If anything IMPACT! is starting to look like the old Memphis wrestling that was on the American-One Network during the late 90s like Music City Wrestling or whatever show was being promoted from the Fairgrounds.
