The Czech Republic Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 MORE PROFESSIONAL? GOD, HIGHLAND! IS NOTHING GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU?!?!? I MEAN, LOOK! THEY'RE WEARING SUITS!
Highland Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 (edited) *deadpans* It's a start. And c'mon, they want to appear professional with the new dresscode, so why not go one step further and have the announce teams act like commentators for real sports teams? Who knows, maybe Michael Cole can morph into Bob Cole? Edited August 30, 2004 by Highland
Lord of The Curry Posted August 30, 2004 Author Report Posted August 30, 2004 Don't ever insult Bob like that again.
Guest Coffey Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Statement: Someone like Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin would make a good third man on commentary. They would be a big deal at first because of name value, but after awhile they wouldn't take the focus off of the matches at hand, and it would allow them to stay in the business and on-camera every now and then without upstaging the younger talents or actually having to wrestle. I know Jim Ross can play off of Austin well.
Twisted Intestine Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Rebuttal: You know the WWE, and you know they'd have Austin saying "What?" to everything JR or King said. No, please no.
Guest Three minutes Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 I wrote something in my wrestling column for my campus newspaper about Austin being a good third man on commentary if he was motivated and was willing to put his ego aside to get the talent over. Statement: The uproar from the Wrestling Observer writers about WWE not promoting the Rock's appearance last week was totally overblown. It only cost them a few ratings points, maybe. The "anything can happen" feel to a show is more important in the long run.
Australian Pride Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Statement: The uproar from the Wrestling Observer writers about WWE not promoting the Rock's appearance last week was totally overblown. It only cost them a few ratings points, maybe. The "anything can happen" feel to a show is more important in the long run. Rebuttal: Agreed, if you leave the Rocks appearances a surprise then people are less likely to be disappointed by his role in the show, which have been reasonably worthless like talking to the Divas. The Rock should only be promoted if he was being used in an 'important' role, like special referree for a World Title match. Statement: WWE needs to have a surprise ending, and winner, to the next Royal Rumble because the whole "against all odds" winner has been done for the past two years and is getting stale.
Brett Favre Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Statement: WWE needs to have a surprise ending, and winner, to the next Royal Rumble because the whole "against all odds" winner has been done for the past two years and is getting stale. True. Even if they don't want to let a Spike Dudley win, have it be a midcarder. Someone like Christian or Rob Van Dam, without hyping them up much. Statement: The next champion on RAW to never win the World Title will be Christian.

Guest Big Daddy V1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 rebuttal: It will be likely that Rhyno wins in 2005, but I do see Christian as the "Best Wrestler never to win the heavyweight title" not RVD or Shelton Benjamin.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 rebuttal: It will be likely that Rhyno wins in 2005, but I do see Christian as the "Best Wrestler never to win the heavyweight title" not RVD or Shelton Benjamin. I'm sorry but Shelton I think is a better wrestler then Christian. Christian moveset is basic and kinda of bland, and can't really have a good match unless its with someone great like Jericho. Where as Shelton can have an entertaining match with just about anyone. He is much more exciting.
Guest Big Daddy V1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 rebuttal: eventually, it'll be the same basic move style we're used to seeing from Shelton, making him like RVD or Jericho (the face one). Christian can work with anyone though, making it more likely to be a better choice over Shelton.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 31, 2004 Author Report Posted August 31, 2004 Statement: Chris Benoit's reign as a world champion will be an afterthought by years end once the Orton vs Evo feud is kicked into full gear.
Brett Favre Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Statement: Chris Benoit's reign as a world champion will be an afterthought by years end once the Orton vs Evo feud is kicked into full gear. True. I already forgot he was Champ. Heck, with the way they are booking him, he just seems like a midcarder that never won the title. Funny, how when HHH loses the title, he gets even MORE time.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 31, 2004 Author Report Posted August 31, 2004 Yeah, but the thing is: HHH never lost the title.
Guest Big Daddy V1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 rebuttal: how sad that HHH can't let anyone get sunlight after losing the title
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Statement: Only HHH has remained in main event programs since losing the heavyweight title. Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Goldberg all drifted away into unimportant crap after losing the title. This proves the incompetence of the WWE creative team, as the best way to keep a guy over after he loses the world title is, ya know, to drift away into mid-card hell.
Guest Big Daddy V1 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 rebuttal: as much as I want to disagree with that logic, it's very true. I mean, Benoit is what, doing heat matches and wrestling Flair halfway through Raw?
AboveAverage484 Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 Okay, it's been about a year since I've watched wrestling and I read the Raw review the other day and damn! I thought things would start going uphill after Benoit and Eddy won the title. Lemme get this straight; Kane is marrying Lita? Divas are saying "cock" and "cum" on TV? There's a fucking RETARD (well, not really) as a world title contender? At least it's better than HHH fuckin' a dead chick.

Wrestlemania XX teased a wonderful new direction and future for WWE, that now seems like a daydream from long ago. Our world champions are now an unready youngster and a career mid-carder. Raw became great for a brief period while Smackdown has done little but slip. Ratings went up and then went back down. WWE dropped the ball once again.
Lil' Bitch Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Rebuttal: Thankfully the shit on RAW rolled downhill AFTER Benoit dropped the title.
AboveAverage484 Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Our world champions are now an unready youngster and a career mid-carder. I think Orton has the RAW title, but who has the Smackdown title?
Brett Favre Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Bradshaw, now known as John Bradshaw Layfield.
Lt. Al Giardello Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Statement: Your not as cool as Carlito Carribean Cool
AboveAverage484 Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Bradshaw, now known as John Bradshaw Layfield. You gotta be fuckin' kidding me.

Corey_Lazarus Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Statement: We are not fucking kidding benoitrulz4life.
Guest Big Daddy V1 Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Statement: We are not fucking kidding benoitrulz4life. rebuttal: I wish we were
The Mandarin Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Rebuttal: Haha, you guys. Bradshaw never became champion. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go live in denial and talk to my thirty-seven cats, all named "Precious".
AboveAverage484 Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 Well, at least it's not David Arquette. Wait, that would be better.
