LOST

Looks amazing from the preview they showed after last week's repeat. I won't spoiler tag since these are just guesses based solely on the preview, and on previous episodes, but I think that it's now obvious that it was the freighter folk who shot Karl and Danielle, and I think Claire gets killed.

Ooh totally forgot it was on again tonight, have to admit, my interest in LOST has totally waned this season. I can't put a finger exactly on why though. It just isn't grabbing me, don't feel like I need to watch it, or need to find out why they got off the island, or even why the have to go back. I think its finally 'Jumped the Shark' for me. Could even be the fact that I now know they got off the island that's done it for me.

I've always enjoyed the mystical Island pull shit, the only thing I really want to know is all Locke/Jacob/Ben based at the moment.

So...it wasn't the people on the boat that killed Carl and (maybe) Danielle.

Try the opposite.

Also - awesome death for Alex. One less annoying character that I have no sympathy for!

Great episode. I really liked it. And Ben's going to be the one thing that keeps Desmond and Penny from their fairy-tale ending.

See, next week shows how the flash-forwards have hurt the show though. Even though his appendix burst, you know Jack's not going to die because we see him off the island years later. So there really is no drama there unfortunately.

Wow, GREAT episode. All this season, I was waiting for Lostzilla to finally show up. Preview for next week talk:

I thought it killed all the freighter people on the island, but judging by the preview, it looks like the main one survived.

Hopefully we finally get some answers on Lostzilla when they reach Jacob's cabin. Knowing this show, that won't happen for another two episodes, however.

I wonder what Widmore meant when he said that everything Ben has he stole from him and that the island has always been his.

This episode took place right around the end of 2004/beginning of 2005. The Ben/Sayid stuff happened Oct. 2005 so they get rescued relatively quickly...especially since Sayid had time to find Nadya, marry her and then have her get murdered.

That was a pretty badass death for Alex, I must say.

Well that was just about the most depressing thing I've ever seen. Sayid finally reunites with Nadia, and she gets whacked shortly thereafter. The last thing Alex hears before getting shot in the head is that she's a bastard and Ben doesn't care about her. Lost has had a real problem with killing people off way too soon, when they easily could've done more with those characters.

Aside from the usual "answers that only lead to even more questions" stuff, at least the plot moved along somewhat in this one. The smog monster eating the freighter folk was a nice markout moment: Welcome to The Island, bitches. Plus that shootout, though short, was surprisingly badass and violent for network tv. I admit I LOL'd when three people in a row came out all "dude, what's going on AHHH" and got shot. How many Red Shirts are left among the survivors now?

When Faraday requested the rocket to be launched to his location on the island from the freighter, it took much longer than it should of. The freighter said the rocket should have arrived much earlier than it actually did. If that means that time travels much quicker off the island, than Ben probably just wanted to confirm the year. Assuming the first thing Ben did in Tunisia was to check in to the hotel, that was probably his first opportunity to check the date. After all, right before Tunisia, he was wounded in the middle of the Sahara.

Uhhh....lengthen the spoiler tab Matt, it's pretty damn obvious who it'll be.

It could have been any number of people. Quite a few have 3 or 4 letter names. Ben, Jack, Sun, Jin, Kate... Besides, it wasn't even really a spoiler. I avoid spoilers.

Ben

Jack

Kate

Sun

Jin

Just a test. Jin, a three letter name like Ben, shows up significantly shorter than the others, while Ben's name appears similar to the 4 letter name of Jack.

But um... anyway. Tonight's episode raped. It sucks that fine ass Alex got killed, and that was a bone chilling moment.

After all, right before Tunisia, he was wounded in the middle of the Sahara.

But how did he get there?

This episode just about made sure I'm going to keep with LOST to the end of this season. It had everything that kept my interest in the first few seasons haha awesome.

Take it Widmore was on the Island once, and he's trying to get back, since Ben 'can't kill him'.

Another thing: is Ben going to kill Penny personally or is he going to have Sayid do it? If/when Sayid meets Penny, will her kill her? Remember the phone conversation in the equipment room on the freighter? Remember it and kill her anyway?

Apparently Ben did time-travel to the desert. The DHARMA symbol on his jacket apparently represents reincarnation and when the two men on horseback are speaking in a different language they say, "Where are his tracks? Where did he come from, the sky?"

Yeah, I wonder if they'll even both with an explanation about how he avoided Lostzilla.

I wonder if the hotel Ben checked into in Tunisia is a DHARMA stronghold. IIRC the polar bear skeleton Charlotte located was in the Tunisian desert and the reaction the clerk had when Ben told her his name and she looked it up was fishy.
