Finally conquered City Slicking and congratulated myself by laying down on my bed and catching my breath at how many times I came close to completely losing it (both the control of my car and my temper).

 

Now it's onto Jizzy.

Well, there's "Reuniting the Families" under the belt. This was an amazing mission - by far the most interesting and challenging yet.

 

I didn't see the four of them bail out when the car went through the sign and when I saw them in the video alive and well, I was thinking that that was... a little far-fetched, even by video game standards.

 

I'd usually be past this point but school's been pretty hectic this week, so I plan to get stuck into it this weekend. And it looks to be a rainy one at that.

I like how the Radio Stations talk of things that you've done in the game such as Burning the Farm with the drugs, you and Catalina killing everyone and there's an interview with OG Loc talking about his rapping on one of the stations

If I'm pissed off enough, I'll switch off without saving just to be destructive. Unfortunately, when I calm down, I realise that I probably would've been much more satisfied by turning the console off with the mission completed.

I think I retract my awesome car physics post after doing some of the racing missions. The cars may spin out of control too much. Also I found the mission before Farewell My Love hard, until I memorized some parts of the course (the road right near the water when you make the curve in the beginning, the farm, etc).

i too am still in LS even after a week with th egame (havent been playing it for lots of hours untill the last few days) I last beat the doberman mission and have also taken over more territory since. Now sweets missions are back. I also have a girlfriend Denise, and she only ever wants to go to a fast food place and do drive bys (now Im getting fatter cuz of it) but she finally did give it up lol man this game is definately for adults only. moms would be pissed if they found there kids palying this game

I'm stuck on the flying school now, and have not been game enough to even attempt the driving one. It seems the flying school is pivotal to the storyline though, so I need to keep trying over and over.

 

Bastard plane is a BITCH to control.

The key to the flying missions is that once you get into the air, let go of the X button and use the L2 and R2 buttons with the analog stick to turn, but do it carefully. I find that holding the rudder button until the plane starts to turn and then tilting the stick in the same direction is the most stable way to turn. Once you get the hang of it, it doesn't seem as frustrating.

That's the one. My frustration was triggerd by scoring SIXTY-NINE PERCENT, one percent below the required amount needed to advance. Considering I pulled off a few flukes during that run through, I was espicially pissed.

 

My favourite station is The Dust, for obvious reasons.

Just finished the flying school (but not quite with flying colors), and I was amazed at how everything was amazingly easy following the third and fourth lessons.

 

Circling the desert was ridiculously hard, but I found it somewhat easier to do the course clockwise as opposed to counterclockwise. As mentioned, if anyone starts struggling on the third and fourth missions of the flying school, just keep going at it because it's all easy from there.

It's pretty much only for what sounds good while I'm driving, so K-DST and Radio X often do the trick. Maybe that would change if I really took the time to explore the stations. I'm sure that there is at least one comedic shock jock passing along a barrage of low-brow messages to the listeners that I haven't grasped just yet, just like in GTA III.

 

Bounce FM for more of a legitimate LA feel when the right tune's playing.

I couldn't do Toreno's first mission after flying school either so I just went on to Las Venturas. Now my problem is that every time I enter a casino to get a mission I find myself playing video poker or blackjack. I put a million dollars on red in roulette and won, now I can gamble as much as I want and not really worry about it.

The driving school can be taken as soon as you reach San Fierro (the second city). You can go right to it at the beginning of your journey into SF, otherwise you will receive a phone call about it that will put an icon on your map to go to it.

 

The flight school is unlocked in-between San Fierro and Las Venturas, after you've finished your core missions in SF.

 

The driving school is optional (it builds up your driving skill and can unlock three very fast and very cool cars), but the flight school is mandatory to continue the storyline.

I finally conquered the flying mode this afternoon, after about forty billion tries. It DEFINETLY gets much easier after the helicopter missions.

 

I'm now well and truly into the next city, however scaring this poor chap on the hood of my car isn't as easy as I thought.

You cannot progress in the storyline unless you complete all ten flying missions, meaning you have to stick at it until you grasp it. It's a bitch, but it comes with experience.

FUCK. I was just on the trucker missions and had paused the game to watch TV and there was a blackout. I hadn't saved, seeing as there was nowhere close to do it, so my progress since "Badlands" is lost.

 

Guess it's not so bad, because "First Date" isn't exactly difficult to pass, nor is the first trucker mission. I'm just concerned about the disc coming to a sudden halt like that.

Since the rented PS2 has to go back today, and I've stayed up for almost 24 hours now, I've decided to throw in the towel just as I'm about to finish, since I'll be too busy today to actually finish the game and I actually want to finish it 100%, which would take far too long.

 

It's been fun while it lasted, but if they don't put it out on XBox, I don't know what I'll do.

 

Great game, wish my eyes could stay open long enough to finish it.

I just restarted my game and I'm now on day four just trying to get the muscles back up. Last game I had was weird because Cesear's missions just "disappeared" and I was wondering if it was because I took over his turf. Ah well.

The thought crossed my mind, but eventually I decided that I wanted to start anew on any possible XBox version. Even if it means going through Zero's tedious, boring, and difficult missions all over again, not to mention the driving school and the flying school.

Hey I have a question. How do you get progress up with your girlfriends quickly? I am at a point in the game where I can't progress with the storyline until I score with this chick. Whenever I do a date it just barely takes my progress up.

 

What gives?
