Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2004 Does ANYONE care about and/or have an emotional attachment to any of the participants in the Angle/Eddie feud's car? Didn't think so. Will anyone give a shit about this segment? I seriously doubt it. Austin/Hart this is not. What were they thinking? Which of the writers has a hard on for cars? Did WWE hire a former Nascar driver to come up with this Eddy/Angle storyline? RVD kicking Suzuki off the chair sounds fun. But why did Dupree attack him after? Why are these two feuding? Teddy Long was looking good by cancelling the dreaded Undertaker/Bradshaw crapfest II, but then got worse in my book by replacing the champ with the slave....er, Chief of Staff Orlando Jordan. It's also good to see how Bradshaw, the non-credible champion, is being booked strong by crying his way out of a match and then getting his ass handed to him by the 97 year old Undertaker. I didn't think Bradshaw should be given the title, but you would think that they would at least try to make him look a LITTLE threatening AFTER he won the belt. But this is supposed to be a feud between two people with a real hate for each other. And for the entire feud, they've done nothing but pull pranks on each other. Really kind of lame. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted August 25, 2004 Well Smackdown is geared towards getting Angle and Taker over at all costs now. So everyone is going to get sacrifced to them until Mania. I don't like JBL but it's stupid to throw him to the wolves like this after building him up for 4 months.
Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2004 A lower card "two friends pull pranks on each other but they really start to get pissed after a while" feud is the only way anything like that would work. It just doesn't work for these two. What's next? We find out that Kurt hot wired Eddie's car horn and brakes together, so whenever he stops at a light the horn goes off? And then Eddie can get revenge by putting a rock in Kurt's car's tire so that Kurt takes it to a mechanic and gets ripped off? The feud must end. Hopefully Angle will feud with Big Show when he returns, and Eddie...poor Eddie.

That would be pretty entertaining, but your scenario is missing one important detail: an automobile. The feud has been based around automobiles and I'll be damned if they are going to drop them now. Perhaps Eddie could egg Kurt's car instead?

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2004 Velocity Match #4: Bubba Ray Dudley (w/ D-Von and Spike Dudley (Cruiserweight Champion)) vs. Hardcore Holly (w/ Billy Gunn) Lockup to start. Bubba shoves Holly in the corner and screams "You're not so bad!" Holly responds by furiously shoving Bubba to the mat. Holly gains the upper hand, chopping the hell out of Bubba. Bubba battles back with punches before his "suck on this" taunt, but Holly immediately clotheslines him down. Holly hangs Bubba on the top rope and kicks him low as Billy starts chasing Spike up the ramp. Bubba with a turning spinebuster for 2. Both men clothesline each other down. They're slow to their feet as Holly lands The Best Dropkick In The Business. D-Von gets on the apron, but Billy pulls him off. Holly nails a top rope clothesline. However, Spike distracts Holly enough for him to turn around and take a spear from Bubba and score the pinfall. Winner: Bubba Ray Dudley Match Rating: 4.5/10 Oh. THAT Bubba. Guest Frank_Nabbit Report post Posted August 26, 2004 As reported earlier, Chavo Guerrero was injured at the Smackdown taping last night and taken off on a stretcher. Chavo was taken to a local hospital and held overnight but was released this morning. All signs indicate that the situation isn't too serious and came off looking much worse than it was. And what do they do with him after he drops the belt? Will he still be a coward that gets his ass handed to him or will he have a sudden personality change and start dominating everyone? If they are going to give the guy the title, they might as well make him a dominate monster and actually make another main eventer out of him, because if his reign keeps going like this he'll be back in the midcard after he loses the belt. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2004 The stupid, bumbling loser Honky Tonk Champion has already been proven to be a gigantic failure. When? The first one that comes to mind is Angle's reign that ran through Armageddon 00. Angle seemed to come up looking the fool at every turn. Foley as Commish made it even worse. I mean, there was the Taker/Kurt/Eric farce at Survivor Series. Armageddon was a positive, until the ending which made Kurt look even luckier than London and Kidman do now. Austin had him beat, but HHH saved him. HHH had him beat, but Austin saved him. And then he lost the belt at NWO. His real shining moments came after he lost the belt and got serious briefly, threatening to break Rock's ankle. Angle plays the bumbling fool well, but it did nothing to help his title reign. Oh, and I also await Eddie's talking car. All it'll take is one writer to watch a re-run of Knightrider, and you just know it'll happen. Eddie: Orrallay! Car: (monotone) VIVA... LA... RAZA. Cole: HA HA HA! Tazz: Oh my god, the car can talk. It can really talk! Ya gotta love Eddie Guerrero! Cole: And look at Angle run away! He's scared of the car! He thinks it's magic! Kurt Angle is afraid of Eddie Guerrero's car! HA HA HA! Survivor Series, Kurt versus the Lowrider, Street Fighter style. Ratings.

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2004 I don't have my Observers here in front of me, but if I remember correctly, house show business hit an all time peak during Angle's first reign. Contrary to belief that everything fell of in Sept. 2000, I think Angle's first reign drew really well. There were other factors involved with that period, but it was far from the bomb everyone seems to remember.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 27, 2004 I don't have my Observers here in front of me, but if I remember correctly, house show business hit an all time peak during Angle's first reign. It also did nothing for ratings, buyrates or creating a new star. And I remember houseshow business waning towards the end of the reign, but I don't have stats in front of me either. And then they decided to the same thing to Jericho, getting the same results. Why does any. All it accomplished was shipping both guys off into the midcard (Jericho for a long time) Why would that change for Bradshaw?

His cowardly heel champion role is at least entertaining even though it might not have the longest shelf life. There was nothing wrong with Angle's first title reign, IMO. Jericho's title reign was hideous because he was booked to look like a piece of shit. Bradshaw's beaten Guerrero and held his own and won against Taker.
