Carlito Carribean Cool

Recommended Posts

No no no, seriously, after seeing that vignette last night, I mean really WTF?

"Be cool like me..."

Uh...okay?

Edit: So is this guy good or what? Because the gimmick already looks like a stinker

How soon before they make him Cruiserweight or US champ? If this was Best Week Ever, I would say Downgrade. Because Scarface is better than Carlito's Way, esse!

When I saw that I immediately thought Razor Ramon 2004 since it was almost a direct knockoff of the vignettes that introduced Razor, same accent, similar background music and same premise (only Razor talked about all the gold he had on his body implying he was the head of a drug cartel....)

He can't, I've seen him in dark matches and his moveset is more basic than your average hoss.

Sounds like another Spike Dudley. Why have TWO cruiserweights that wrestle like heavyweights?

Oh yeah, WWE logic. *knocks himself upside the head*

Why can't the WWE sign anyone that can actually DO different moves? Why does everyone have to be Joe Vanilla McBlandsville?

Carly is going to get laughed back to Puerto Rico. He's atrocious in the ring. His brother Eddie is the better worker and he should have gotten the contract to wrestle in the WWE. Hell, his sister can work a crowd better than him. Carlos is going to end up with egg on his face once the PR fans see Carly work his lame latino gangsta gimmick. He isn't hard enough to pull something like that off and nowhere near as greezy lookin as Scott Hall.

I didn't notice much about the vignette because I couldn't get pass that damn fro! Good God, he looked like he walked right out of a latino version of a 70s blaxploitation film. It is so obvious that they are biting from Razor Ramon. It is even more of a shame that this dude can't work in the ring. Say what you will about Scott but when he was sober he was good in the ring.

I'm not so sure that they don't sign people (from the independents) who do have different movesets, and then immediately train them OUT of that in OVW.

$50 that one of the first people that is not "cool" is John Cena

Oh God......as if Cena needs ANOTHER pointless midcard feud to mire him down.

Yeah yeah yeah, blah blah blah.

That's exactly what people said about Nathan Jones and Mordecai.

Yet, Kenzo Susuki and HEI-DEN-REICH are still here, so I guess he has a 50% shot...

That and the "razor" thing.

Ramon had a cool look, he had that air of badassness. This guy just looks like a little goofball.

I guess since they already were doing retreads in the late 90's (Val Venis from Rick Rude, Tiger Ali from DiBiase) they decided to now try them again, since they were such a smashing success last time.

Mordecai was a Taker from a different side of the spectrum, Eugene is another Bushwhacker-esque gimmick, Bradshaw is DiBiase updated for the current political climate...but...this is just a watered down Razor Ramon, with maybe a dash of Konnan. Ugh.

It's Razor Ramone meets D-Ray 3000!

That's a pretty good description, though even D-RAY 3000 is better than Carly Colon. Still it was a funny little segment, the afro alone is entertaining.

Best gimmick ever.

Give him an interview segment and have him wrestle maybe once a month. Have him be Cruiserweight Champ and duck the challengers constantly until someone FINALLY gets him.

It's a shame that I missed this since I don't tape Smackdown anymore.

Perhaps Eddy will get him to feud with first... since they are both Latino and all to bring in the Latino market a bit more. Ratings gold I tell you.
