Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I think that's another problem with assembling a regular team that resembles an All-Star team. Hard-working or not, most of these teams tend to get a bit lazy, thinking that they've got it all under control. They just look really bored to me.
strummer Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Yankees starting to rally, Lopez stays in the game Edit: Lofton swings at a 2-0 pitch and flies to shallow left
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 And the mighty Jason Grimsley stops that. God almighty.
mike546 Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 And Julio strikes out the side. wow.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Well, I guess it's better to find out that this 180 million dollar MESS has no heart or balls now than in the world series like last year.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Three outs away from having a two and a half race in the AL East on our hands.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Three outs away from having a two and a half race in the AL East on our hands. The race is over. The Yankees have no heart and they don't care anymore. Two and a half games are a technicality.
Mik Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Wow. Show some faith, man. Hey, my team was 7 games out a week ago. Look where they are now.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Wow. Show some faith, man. Team gave up on me first.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 4, 2004 Author Report Posted September 4, 2004 The Yankees are 28-19 (.587) since the All-Star break. That's not bad, its 5th in the AL. The problem is the Red Sox are 31-15 (.674) since the break. Most great stretch runs aren't the result of one team collapsing. They're the result of another team putting together an incredible run.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 This Red Sox game just became the best one ever, as the hot chick behind homeplate flashed her tit while she was talking on the cell phone during the last at-bat of the game. I'm not usually one to gush over fans, but that was pretty hilarious, as you had to be paying attention to catch it. But damn.
Guest Brian Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Kerry is psychic. Or maybe he's living on another temporal plane.

The Yankees record is much better than their play.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 4, 2004 Author Report Posted September 4, 2004 Apparently, Kevin Brown broke his left hand punching a wall. The Yankees may very well be dead at this point.
tpww7 Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Kevin Brown broke his hand punching something..HAHAHA.

Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Is it now fair to call this team a disaster? I blame them for this. Brown pitched a good game. The rest of the team couldn't be bothered to back him up at all.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 At least I know I'm not the only one that the Yankees caused to break their hand this week.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Can you play with a cast on? I wouldn't even know.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Not unless Kevin Brown = Jim Abbot 2004.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 (edited) Not unless Kevin Brown = Jim Abbot 2004. What? Never mind, I get it. Stupid glove. Edited September 4, 2004 by Anglesault
Guest Smues Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I think we all knew Brown would get injured eventually, but who knew he'd do it all by himself not during a game.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 I didnt get to see the Orioles game but anytime the Os can beat the Yankees in NY, its a cause for celebration.
JHawk Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Is it now fair to call this team a disaster? Only if some utility player on the Red Sox becomes Bucky Dent 2004. Which I'd like to see, actually.

Which I'd like to see, actually. Dent was (more or less) the starting shortstop that year. I think he got hurt at some point though.
JHawk Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Even so, Dent was probably the least likely guy to beat the Red Sox in that situation, which is where I was going with that. But I honestly think the Red Sox are going to fold at some point anyway.
Cuban Linx Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Texas get shut out for the second day in a row, it's all but over for them now. With both Boston and Oakland racking up wins left and right even if Blalock, Young, Soriano and Teixeira get hot simultaneously i doubt it'll be enough to make up 6-7 games at this point.
2GOLD Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Kevin Brown isn't the smartest player in baseball. Ask any Orioles fan as we all had to deal with the idiot trying to bare hand baseballs hit up the middle and constantly breaking his hand. So hearing he broke his hand isn't shocking, shocking is he hasn't broken it in the last four months.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 But I honestly think the Red Sox are going to fold at some point anyway. And God willing, this is what lights a fire under the Yankees asses. 1 and 6 sure didn't. 22-0 didn't. Maybe this fool did.
