kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2004 You can either submit your picks and TB score on this thread or PM them to me -- if you PM your picks I will send you a response stating I have received them. If you post your picks, make sure they’re in the order of the list below; it will make it easier for me to keep track of games picked. If you PM me your picks, I'll post them on the thread either after your opponent posts his picks, or when the deadline passes. Once picks are submitted, you can't change them. Unlike last year, I will be using the same end-of-season tie-breakers that the NFL has. I will be posting this information later on in the thread. In addition, for people new to this contest, I’ll be posting results and standings later on in this thread as well. I hope to have final results up no later than Wednesday, but I’ll probably have most results up every Monday or Tuesday after that week’s worth of games have concluded. Once a person submits his picks and tie-breaker score, I will list those picks and his tie-breaker score next to his team (IND, NE, etc.) the "DIFF" entry will be the picks that you and your opponent disagree upon. Please double check my listings as mistakes do happen. For those that don’t know about point spreads, the team with the (number) is the favored team, and they must win their game by at least that many points in order to be considered a “win” in my contest. For example: In the Arizona at St. Louis game this week, I’m giving the Rams a 13-point spread to cover. That means St. Louis has to win by at least 13 points (20-7, 26-13, etc.) to be considered the winning team in my contest. All the point spreads are taken from the Las Vegas line (http://www.vegas.com/gaming) and tweaked a bit by me just to piss you off even more. Below are the Week One list of games and the TSM head-to-head matchups: Indianapolis at New England (3.5) Arizona at St. Louis (13) Baltimore (4.5) at Cleveland Cincinnati at N.Y. Jets (2.5) Detroit at Chicago (3.5) Jacksonville at Buffalo (2.5) Oakland at Pittsburgh (3.5) San Diego at Houston (6) Seattle (2.5) at New Orleans Tampa Bay at Washington (2.5) Tennessee (2.5) at Miami Atlanta (3.5) at San Francisco Dallas at Minnesota (2.5) N.Y. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2004 New Orleans (A Mike SC) *kills self* No sympathy here -- all it would have taken for a second Flyboy season at the helm was a $5 commitment, but someone was too cheap. Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2004 AoO, I submitted my picks to KKK a week ago via PM, so I'm being totally honest about my picks... Sent: Re:last call for nfl pick 'em contest, Aug 30 2004, 02:00 PM If I don't get your emergency picks and emergency TB score by 9/1/04, your team becomes open for anyone that wants to claim it. Once again, all this has to be is some generic "I'll-take-all-away-teams-that-are-favored and a TB score of 20" line... kkk WEEK 1 Indianapolis at New England Arizona at St. Louis Baltimore at Cleveland Cincinnati at N.Y. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2004 can someone explain to me the "TB score" I am not absolutely sure what I am supposed to do. Once I understand I will just edit it into my previous post.........THANKS. If this is the thing where we were designated a certain team, (I think mine was Indy) and we are just listing how much we think they will score this week, then I am understanding correctly......... kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2004 TB = The amount of points you think your team will score for that week (Example: Bored thinks his Houston Texans will score 24 points against the Saints this week). In case your matchup is a tie in regards to correct picks, the person that most closely predicted the amount of points their team will score wins. If both TSM'ers are tied after this, then their matchup ends in a tie. Oh, and if I don't get a pick or TB score from someone, I will be putting a in the spot where their pick is to go. If a TB score isn't given past the deadline, I will be using the one you submitted in your emergency picks. EDIT: I lied in that last sentence -- I won't be using your emergency pick TB after Week 1. If a poster doesn't submit their picks this week, I should be next in line to take their team. I thought you were going to get this contest started at another messageboard?... Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2004 Edit: So if say Carolina beats GB by less then the spread... who gets the W? The number beside the team means that team must win by a difference of that score to get a win. If it's a 3.5 spread, the game must be at least 3 or more for the team to get a win, otherwise the losing team still gets the win. So say Tennesse (2.5) at Miami is the game you are looking at and you've taken Tennesse while your opponent has Miami. For Miami to win, all they need to do is win. However, for Tennesse to win, they must win by more than two points. If not, your opponent still collects the win.

Fökai 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2004 Holy shit. I completely neglected the "spread" portion of this contest, which is the ENTIRE basis of declaring a winner each week. EDIT: Oh well. The spreads this week are so miniscule, the only new result I did after re-calculating my picks, was Arizona beating the spread against the Rams.
