Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Um yeah, I thought about em, they're in the past, and I don't drive anymore. Have you guys missed that part? And what about the part where no one was killed or injured? And what about the part where the two girls willingly got into the car with me? Their safety is on them at that point, isn't it? i got them to the door safe and sound, which may not have been the case if they called up someone else for the ride. 1. Nope, I think we got that part 2. So that justifies such a retarded act? "Well officer, while it is true that I did try to shoot the president while he was giving his speech, i didn't actually hurt him." "Oh, I hadn't thought of that. Ok you're free to go. But please leave your gun here with us" "Uh, cool. Have a nice day officer" So, since you leave your gun at home now, that makes what you did no big deal? 3. No, and that is so fucking ridiculous. I mean really. You can't spend half a minute to think of alternative actions instead of taking their lives into your hands? It's one (shitty) thing to drink and drive alone, it's quite another (shitty thing) to pile people into your car who could well be too drunk to care. You crash and you die or get injured. You crash and you kill or injure all three of you. I figure that compounding the number of victims is not to bright. Are you just that inconsiderate that you really don't care? Or is that the missing brain cells? 4. i got them to the door safe and sound, which may not have been the case if they called up someone else for the ride Yeah, lets not deal with could haves here. You really are an arrogant fuck if you think that behaving this way doesn't bite you in the ass in the future. It's not even the drunk driving, it's the disregard for everyone around you that'll likely do it. Tonight I am supposed to go to a party in Philly. Know what I am doing? Taking a train there, then either sleeping over (if I get lucky) or taking a cab home. I'm overjoyed at reading this. for real. You're basically yelling at someone who already learned their lesson. It's like if you catch your kid playing with matches, they never touch em again, then you yell at them again 2 years later. You've learned NO lesson. I blew a .27 once, and had two drunk underage girls in the car with me. And just because I joked with, and was nice to the cops, they had me sober up for around a half hour (which didn't work of course) and then let me go. I learned no lesson whatsoever. Well there were two cops, and yeah, completely irresponsible and stupid. There's also the time I got pulled over and got away with it because of the "Volunteer Firefighter" sticker in my window. Don't blame me, I stopped driving altogether. Blame the idiot cops. "I did nothing wrong, it was the pigs that didn't do their job, who cares" Well I learned from my mistakes and stopped driving completely Are you drunk right now or are you just really bad at this? If that's not the case with you, then I just lack the moral fiber you seem to possess. How is the weather up there on that high horse by the way? In the end, I never hurt anyone except myself by driving drunk, so let's not live in a world "Could'ves", okay? Resenting the implication that you are, in fact, a jackass for this...yes, even long after the fact. If you learned your lesson, there'd actually be a shred of contrition there. I don't tell it in a regretful way because I don't regret it. Nothing bad happened to anyone, and I got away with something. Boom, happy ending. Also, I chugged a beer before I walked out the door, which probably made my BAC much higher. Have fun in Philly
Guest Cerebus Report post Posted September 11, 2004 In the end, I never hurt anyone except myself by driving drunk, so let's not live in a world "Could'ves", okay? <-------A "Could've" Honestly, I don't want to sound like I'm on a high horse or anything, but my life did change because someone did something similar to what you did. I don't want to guilt trip you, but remember shit DOES happen. Hopefully, you won't do it again.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I realize my choice to drive was a bad one, but when there's only two of you together and neither has any money, calling a cab isn't an option. Had I had more money, I would have called one, but that was not the case. I also realize the danger that I put myself and Kelly in, as well as anyone else on the road, and the fact that no one was hurt is a blessing. I'm staying in the house for awhile. The situation did get to me. I thought about possibly losing my job, my license and maybe even getting kicked out of my house by my aunt all day, and am still thinking that I may not be around here much longer. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed for what I did. It happened, it's in the past, I have to move on. If I do some time in jal or community service, that's what happens. If I have to find a new place to live, so be it. It's my fault for whatever happens ,and I deserve whatever punishmet is dished out. I know that some of what I've just said may sound arrogant and evil, but it's the truth. And to be honest, if I were in THE EXACT SAME SITUATION 10 times over, I'd still probably do the same thing. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 If it's in the past and nobody was hurt, getting away with driving drunk is cool. If he had killed somebody he wouldn't be here telling the story now would he? He's no guiltier than the woman who has an orgasm while being raped. And as for Brian, try to shy away from using the truth as a consolation.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I'm not using the truth as consolation. I know that driving drunk is wrong, and I'm expecting to be punished for what I've done. I did it anyway, now I have do deal with doing it anyway.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Hopefully JAxl is drunk when typing this because it takes a special case to drive drunk, make light of the nature of the situation, say they learned no lesson and then when people (rightfully) tear into him for it say "I learnt my lesson and stopped driving." Gert T 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Good way to do it would be to not be a fuckin retard and maybe curl up in the vehicle till morning. Definetely the cab route, as especially in Ohio, these days if you are in your car, and keys are within range, they technically can get you on some charges. Sorry, I am a day behind on this issue. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I've never been behind the wheel in my life due to being drunk all the time. Everybody wins! This is just...unfathomable to me. You're in your twenties and have never driven an automobile? You're about as bad as Dames.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I said most people have driven home after 3 drinks or something where they are fine to drive but if the cops pulled them over, they MIGHT blow over. I did not say anything about drinking and driving. Thats stupid.
JangoFett4Hire 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I gotta add that Boston is retahded in the fact that the local mass transit system (MBTA) closes at 12:30, about 90 minutes before the bars. If the city were truly concerned about drunks driving around, they would look to extend their operating hours. And yes there are cabs, but the subways system would be easier, cheaper, and wouldn't leave you on the street corner for half an hour trying to flag one down. And BBB- just get your dad in the CIA to get you out of trouble. That's what I would do.
Guest Shoes Head Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Now, if I would have let my friend drive home, she'd be fucking dead right now, no doubt about it. I know what I did was wrong (drinking and driving), but I also think what I did was right (not allowing her to drive). In PA where I live, in situations such as yours they'll suspend your license for 3 months and then give you Accelerated Rehabilitative Probation - which means it'll come off your record if you can make it a whole year without being convicted of another crime. The argument against you in court is that there are taxi services open 24 hours a day wherever you go, and you could have just called her one.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted September 12, 2004 I don't get what your problem is? Do you want him to come right out and say "I was wrong"? Calling people names for denouncing drunk driving is pretty foolish. In addition to the, "well at least we didn't crash" mentality. This has nothing to do with Brian, its all JAxl.
