Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I am glad Rob left the show, he was a joke, as a businessman you know you have to talk up to show your worth. I hope Pamela gets to stay around for awhile, being offensive draws interest. Stacie seemed jaded and fidgety and then had anxiety when everyone no sold her. You should not show your boredom off to others in that type of situation. I do not remember what she did on the preview of the next episode, anyone know? Bradford made a bad call when he was ordering the women around, as a leader if you want to remain popular you should listen to everyone in the group for all the possible ideas before making a decision. Not good that the guys were not professional when making the decision on who should be project leader. I am wondering what this Harvard graduate has that other Harvard graduates do not other than being a debate champion (and in that aspect he did not do well in arguing Pamela was the worst part of the team). There are a few people on the cast who are in their mid-late 30s, which is not good unless they have a much better resume than the other contestants. The cheetah with fish qualities toy is imagination, I don't know what they are thinking when they called it a bad product. Overall good show but it needs to be longer and more advertisements for it to try to draw interest since there seems to be barely any. Anyone have thoughts on the show? SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I enjoyed it more thn I thought I would. I felt bad for the guy trying to run Apex, since I know what its like to be in a room full of women and not be able to get a word in. Maybe I've been watching wrestling too long, but the chick running Mosaic (which IS a terrible name BTW) kind of turned me on. So far the only interesting character is Raj, but he'll probably not last since Donald's already making fun of him.
Mik 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 I would have wanted to slap that Stacie J girl for rambling on and on and becoming increasingly paranoid and obnoxious when no one was paying attention to her. That was just a total meltdown, and now her entire team hates her. Count me in on that sentiment.
Guest ian. Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Was Rob the dude who wanted the name Empire and looked like a general tool? I watched the first half but missed the end of it.
treble 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 'Crustacean Nation' was a stupid idea for a toy since most kids either a) don't know how to pronounce 'crustacean' or b) know what one is. I'm kind of surprised that no one in the boardroom brought that up (unless I missed it).
Mik 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2004 Was Rob the dude who wanted the name Empire and looked like a general tool? I watched the first half but missed the end of it. Nah, that was Raj. I don't think he'll last too long. He's kind of like Sam in season 1. A little bit too eccentric and crazy. He'll get on everyone's nerves before long. 'Crustacean Nation' was a stupid idea for a toy since most kids either a) don't know how to pronounce 'crustacean' or b) know what one is. I'm kind of surprised that no one in the boardroom brought that up (unless I missed it). No one mentioned it, and I also thought it was a terrible idea for a toy. I couldn't believe that was the best toy a bunch of guys in their 20s and 30s could come up with.

Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 13, 2004 That was funny on the preview of next week's episode that and how Donald told the person he was talking to in the boardroom: "shut up" "i mean, you're just so stupid"
starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2004 The extended Boardroom on Saturday helped shed more light on things, I think. For instance, it seemed like Trump is looking for any excuse to fire Raj, and why Andy was chosen for the boardroom.
Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 13, 2004 Pamela already said why she had Andy in the boardroom before the Saturday extended episode. The male group so far seems very tense.

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 I have never seen a participant in one of these shows make such a disasterous decision as that. There is no way you could trust a guy like that, no matter how good he was.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 (edited) Frankly, I think that Trump was kinda petty with that firing. He's admitted himself that he's done stupid things, and then he fires someone who did something he thought was stupid. Not detrimental to the team losing, mind you, but something stupid nonetheless. (And before you ask, no, I wouldn't have done it. But I'm not exactly a cocky guy) I totally understand what Bradford was trying to do. Waiving the exemption was planned on his part, because a leader should always share some of the responsibility. Anyways, the upshot is that Bradford took a risk. Trump thought it was too much of one, fired him and the women are now screwed until the corporate reshuffling. (edit: unspoilered now that anyone on the west coast has seen it) Edited September 17, 2004 by starvenger

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Taking a dumb, totally unnecessary risk is from here-on known as "pulling a Bradford." The Asian chick is dead in the water now... The whole reason she brought Bradford in was to gang up on Stacie J. Now, Bradford (a guy called the best in the room at that point) is fired and their team is stuck with Stacie. The Asian is gonna be raked over the coals for letting that happen.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 She should be happy. I have no doubts that Ivana would be gone now if it wasn't for Bradford.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 She should be happy. I have no doubts that Ivana would be gone now if it wasn't for Bradford. I don't think anyone would disagree with you on that. Taking a dumb, totally unnecessary risk is from here-on known as "pulling a Bradford." Just revisiting this, but I think that, in a situation where you are running YOUR company, putting your neck out on the line like that is par for the course. The flaw in Bradford's logic was that he'd be running one of TRUMP's companies, and he's unwilling to have too much of a risktaker on board (see McLain, Troy vs Jackson, Kwame). Thus, "you're fired", and someone's gonna have to ferry Bradford's wardrobe over to Sequesterville. I still think Trump was petty though, and fired him in the heat of the moment. And I still believe that the women are screwed. Protege last year were very decisive, and Apex this year just want to make lists for everything. What kind of flavour was Red Velvet supposed to be anyways? Switching gears, does anyone else think that Raj has a chance to go the top 8? Between last ep and this one, he really seems to have loosened up a bit. And lost the cane (which can't hurt).

Mik 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Also in one of the shots when he was left on the sales team, it showed pictures of everyone being nervous and he was walking up and down the hall twirling his cane. I also love how the one guy was like..."Hypoglycemia is no excuse to eat." I'd like to see what he said when Raj was face down on the ground due to his insanely low blood sugar. (Assuming of course he was telling the truth)
Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 17, 2004 I'm sure Donald would have fired Jennifer if she opened her mouth again. Raj is getting annoying with his confused look. You want him to have more personality than that to go along with his wardrobe.
Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Nothing wrong with giving up your immunity if you know you won't be fired. Donald violated this norm, it was a stupid move on his part.

He's easily the most entertaining guy on the show right now in my opinion.
The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2004 I agree, Raj is great. His cockiness, humour is all pretty entertaining. I'm glad I caught the extended boardroom version of this week's episode. It really showed how pissed Trump was about Bradford waiving his immunity. Upon first viewing, I thought it was more of an instant gut decision but now I understand he thought it through more.

I forgot the sarcastic eccentric wiseass stuff but going with what you say, he still has that confused look on too much (probably the rest of them do at times, but you want Raj to have even more personality instead of being mr. confused a lot). Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted September 19, 2004 I think it boils down to you don't really know what others think of you. Bradford thought the others knew he carried the team, but one team member criticized him. I think this might have been the basis of Trump's argument without him actually saying it (don't give up protection, the immunity, because it is stupid because you can't be sure what others think of you). The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2004 The only extras outside of the boardroom I think were a few little added scenes after the task. On Thursday's episode, they showed Jennifer C ask Stacie J about where she was and then point at her after with a little smirk or grin. In the extended version, they showed more after that where the two get into a little heated arguement. Also they showed a little more during the guys' celebration where Andy made a toast to the guys on hoping to continue being friends forever and showed a few guys hug and joke around more. As for the boardroom, they showed Trump's real anger at Bradford's decision on waiving up his exemption. He just couldn't believe how stupid the idea was. The added boardroom footage also seemed to focus more on Bradford and Ivanna, with Stacie J mentioned only here and there. It seemed that if Bradford did not waive his exemption, the mood in the boardroom was that Ivanna would definately have been fired. They also showed a little more post-firing footage with Trump, Carolyn and George talking. Carolyn seemed to REALLY want Ivanna fired throughout the entire boardroom and even after Bradford was fired, she was talking about Ivanna's shocked expression that she thought was a result from her not being fired. The boardroom just really showed how frustrated Trump was that Bradford waived his exemption.
